"In this heartwarming tale, Bella will make you laugh and cry, and realize there is hope for everyone in this world, not just our four-legged fur friends. A must read for any animal lover."
This was a sweet and short story told through the eyes of Bella. The beginning, which includes dog fighting, was hard to read. Happily, Bella was adopted by an incredibly understanding and loving woman.
Oh my word, cried basically the whole time. Such a sweet short story. I hope that this continues to change people’s minds about the breed. I don’t think I’ll ever own a different breed other than a Pitbull. They are unlike any other dog I’ve ever met.
I loved this book ,through the eyes of the pup.It was very sad in the beginning,I knew, the pup was a bait dog, which is so hard to understand. But then the st0 ry line changes, and was just terrific how much Bella was loved. If you love dogs it's a must read .Pit Bulls are very special .
The World Through Bella’s Eyes by Peter and Lindsay Harrower is a moving and compassionate book that speaks directly to anyone who has loved a pit bull–type dog and understands just how profoundly misunderstood these animals are. Told through Bella’s perspective, the story invites us to see the world through eyes full of loyalty, sensitivity, and unwavering love—qualities that pit bulls possess in abundance but are so often overlooked.
As someone who has owned pit bull–type dogs, this book resonated on a personal level. The author beautifully captures the gentle nature, emotional intelligence, and resilience of these dogs while also confronting the unfair stereotypes and fear-based narratives that continue to surround them. Bella’s voice is tender and honest, reminding readers that behavior is shaped by treatment, environment, and love—not by breed labels.
This book is both a love letter to pit bulls and a quiet but powerful call for empathy. It challenges readers to question assumptions and opens the door to understanding dogs who have been unfairly demonized for far too long.
I really appreciate books that tell the real story about "bully breed" dogs. Here is a very sweet. much loved Bella, who was a bait dog as a puppy. And still she is loving, affectionate, and happy. Bully breed dogs are not monsters; they are not vicious. Yes, there are some very bad ones. But each dog must be judged for its own behavior. And any dog with a big head cannot just be labeled "pit bull" by the media to scare people and increase ratings. Some other dogs that were banned and demonized over the years include German Shepherds, Dobermans, Great Danes, Airedales, and others. This book goes a long way toward telling the true story - that there are no bad breeds and that a "pit bull" can make the most awesome family member. https://outwardhound.com/furtropolis/...).
Not just a book......it is a real Pit....& I love them!
I chose to comment on this book because one of my friends is a Pit Bull. He is such a joy and very knowing in all his ways! Pits are treated very shamefully by people hungry for money and attitudes that really stink! Pray for them and graduate them the time worthy benefits of a strict horrible graduation for life hopefully in San Quentin Prison! Perfect for rats!
I have a truly fantastic relationship with our neighbor's dog, Rocky, who is a Pittie. He slobbers, but he loves me, not to mention the treats I give him. He listen better than most kids.
And heaven forbid if I ever come across someone who abuses any animal. IMHO, animals are much easier to work with, and love, than most humans.
I know pits get a bum rap and it is sad. After reading what happened to this beautiful dog, the person or persons responsible should get a taste of their own medicine. On another note, I have2 rescue dogs of my own and I can't imagine what their lives were like before, no they are not pits but wonderful little dogs now that I have rescued them. Love all animals.
My granddaughter has a wonderful Pit named Molly. She is really great, and loves her kids! My Fred was on the black dog list . He is Mamas BEST dog, and I have loved him for 9 yrs. Get to know that dog before you decide he is a bad dog. Give her a chance to show you she is great!
I read this story with tears in my eyes for a good part of it. It is a really quick read. I read it in about an hour and a half. In order to really discuss the book, I would need to reveal too much. Suffice it to say, you'll cry too and you will feel a range of emotions reading this story. But you will also breathe a sigh of relief. I know I did.
