The Vampire's Club is an ongoing gay vampire romance novella series. This boxset contains the first three books. There are audiobooks of this series attached with the first three books.
Lucas Daniels must be protected!
Lucas Daniel starts his job at Club Dyavol, but, immediately, he wonders what he’s gotten himself into. Though the patrons are wealthy, glamorous and remind him of nobles from an earlier age, Lucas senses that they are dangerous as well. Yet he still feels safe within Dyavol’s walls, because of Count Konstantin “the Wolf” Volk’s watchful eye on him through the club’s many cameras.
Count Konstantin “the Wolf” Volk believes that Lucas’ blood can cure his curse, and Lucas’ companionship could ease his isolation. But he needs to keep the young man secret, because drinking the blood of a witch could start a war between vampires and witches once more. Yet when the leader of the Vampire Council arrives at Dyavol’s doors on Lucas’ first night of work, Konstantin must let him in, and somehow keep Lucas’ true identity hidden.
NOTE: THIS NOVELLA SERIES HAS CLIFFHANGERS! EVERY BOOK WILL END ON ONE. THAT'S MY NATURAL WRITING STYLE. IF YOU DO NOT LIKE CLIFFHANGERS, WAIT UNTIL THE WHOLE SERIES IS PUBLISHED TO READ. THANKS FOR THE SUPPORT!
X. Aratare writes gay paranormal romance with witches, vampires, magic, and mystery. Though some books may venture into dark territory, they will all have happy endings.
3 and 1/2 stars. I’m not big on vampire stories. I loved the ones by Nicholas Bella, but I’ve had a hard time enjoying most. I think it was the Twilight books that turned me against them. I enjoyed this enough that I plan to read book 4.
Huh. A fairly interesting.. serial? Set of novellas? Whatever. I'm interested. But I'm not willing to count each 96-170 page story as a book in my goodreads challenge count. So.. while I'm only just now starting book six, I'm pretty invested in the story.
This is SO GOOD!! I can’t believe I haven’t heard of this series of novellas before.
Naïve to his own bloodline, Luca seeks out a job in a ritzy but mysterious club in the part of town known for being strange. Enter Konstantin, a vampire cursed with an affliction that makes every touch, sound, and light extremely painful. He’s the owner of the club, and is inexplicably drawn to Luca.
Though the first collection of novellas takes place in what I’m pretty sure is only the span of 48 hours, it had me so invested. The characters are introduced well and unique. The setting is interesting and fun. There is some mystery, some interesting politics, fun encounters, high-tension romance, and a plot line that will make you just want to keep reading. Though I noticed some small errors with punctuation/typos, I think it’s just because this book isn’t classically published, and it doesn’t take away from the writing style, which is easy to follow but still more elevated from a lot of other books I’ve read in the genre.
I’m eating this series up, and will absolutely finish this novella collection!
Vampires and witches and magic! Sweet, spicy, bit of drama, bit of angst, a lovely light read. There are 7 small installments to this novel, each ending with a cliffhanger but the story is complete, so you can roll right on to the next one. The pacing is so good on these books, I reached the end of each too quickly and I’m always left wanting more. That’s the sign of a great book.
Each book is easily a 4-5 with the overall series at 5 stars. Character development was great, romance was insta-love done really well, bad guys were well developed, some light twists, too. Overall a super series that I think of fondly even weeks after reading it.
3/5 I listened to the audiobooks but I feel like the all the volumes so far (I'm in the middle of Volume 4) should have been ONE book only. Seriously, it feels like there are several volumes/books to cash more money of the audiobooks. This is one of those rare times where I'd love to buy the omnibus audio!
In short, I don't feel like rating each book individually because the "series" doesn't really deserve it in my opinion.
As for the story, there are so compelling elements but I'm not sure I'll read after book 4.
The stories are pretty short, so this three book box set felt like a regular novel. The story is good, continuing from one book to the next and following Konstantin and Lucas. My biggest frustration is that I'll have to get the next four books individually if I want to finish the story (which I truly want to do). There's a bos set of the first half but the second half has to be bought individually. Wouldn't it be better to include them in a set? Even better, in this set?
X. Aratare gives us another great series. The owner of the vampire's club is cursed. A witch his master killed cursed him before she died that through him any fledglings he has would have an eternity of physical pain, enough to render him helpless.
There is one innocent boy that comes to the club for a job. He walks through security without being seen, and he might be the cure for the owner's curse. I'm on book 4 now.
The writing is amazing, the pacing is good, and the plot is gripping. No hanky lanky except for a dream shower scene but the writing is so good it doesn’t need sex to carry the story. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series and more from this author.
From what I have read so far I a hooked it is destined to be in the class of Ann Rice and KS just as well written with character's you will lo e and hate I can't wait for the next and the next
I have always loved how this author goes into so much detail about the food and clothing because it makes you feel like you’re really there. Also the way the author describes the food makes you really really hungry.
A mysterious suspense-filled series that captured me from the start. Full of vampires, witches, curses and so much more. I can’t wait to dive deeper into this new magic world.
The series of short novels/novellas continue as Lucas starts to remember things from the Club and his and Konstantin's mutual attraction grows. Plus our villains come into play. It's fun, slow burn sexy, full of action, great characters and humour.
Seriously just skip books 1-3 don't waste you time.. even books 4-5 you can miss. Thank God for books 6-7. Honestly only books in series worth reading. And from book 4 they do a catch up at beginning so don't worry you will miss anything.
A slightly different slant on vampires, which I enjoyed, but it’s not sent me rushing for the next part. I probably will read more, but overall a good, not great, read.
Despite a few minor typos, I enjoyed this set. I’ve already downloaded book four, and even shared a few passages with friends so they might pick it up too.
An awesome beginning I just wished that when Konstantin drank from the other guy he would’ve just puked and gotten sick from it other than that great books.
Very slow. I actually read the original on her website and I prefer that, to be honest, but I really do like this either way. It's basically the same story.
I got the first three books together knowing about the cliffhangers and it would be cheaper than purchasing each book individually. I am glad that this was available because the story is great and I can understand the frustration of wanting to know what happens next. The author says that the novellas are done this way because this is how she writes, but I also think that, no, this is how the editor and publishers do this because then they get more money. Some anger there, but I really do like the series and I was warned by the comments to wait till the series was done. (Though no one knows how many books there will be) Still great. This author knows how to tell a story. I will continue to follow but I hope that the author at some point graduates to a full fledged novel. Great characters with backstory, mystery, intrigue, uncertainty. Good thing I have other books lined up to read while waiting for this series to end.
