Morgan Deerfield was seriously wounded and per the doctor, it's going to take from six months to a year before he's totally healed. He can barely walk without getting weak and his legs giving out on him. It's so serious that Sheriff Seth has assigned bodyguards to him for constant protection.
Miss. Elizabeth Delaney has now become President of the local bank that her deceased father left her. She also needs bodyguards and a driver for her carriage.
The town has been assaulted by the "Hamilton Slasher," who slashing throats and gutting those unfortunate to meet his machete. This town seems to have had a bad time, there was the crooked Mayor and Banker who embezzled money from the bank and committed land fraud. You know the type who start demanding mortgage payments and loans that are due..just another hot 🔥mess.
They either Matt late in life such as men in their late thirties and the women marry early as soon as some hot their teens. I know that Kansas has a law giving thirteen year olds the right to marry. But I also heard they were going to change the law..makes sense, don't know why it's taking them this long to amend that law.. A real head scratcher.
We all like Morgan Deerfield, I hope he heals and feels better soon. Then he and Miss. Elizabeth can marry and start a family..howdy boy

Not the normal Morgan Deer story, due to him being in a recovery mode both Sheriff Rarely keeps everyone moving along in a pretty fast !ode. Plenty of fast moving adventures to maintain your undivided attention from beginning to end though!
Certainly worthy of five stars, as there are enough suspenseful episodes, and gunfights, to maintain anyone's attention. The characters certainly certainly are entertaining enough, as they fulfill their assigned roles to perfection throughout the entire story. The author certainly did his homework with his exceptionally exciting storylines.
There were enough suspenseful episodes to appease anyone's attention, and again, there were enough romancing to maintain your full attention, also. Too, anyone loving gunfighting will certainly be well entertained. There were a few very descriptive deaths throughout the first half of the book, but all is well in the end.
Recommending this book to all the readers of western genre is not a problem, but some you non-western enthusiasts might find the story to your liking. But then, who am I to select stories for everyone, as you just might find the book entertaining!😀

I am not crazy about this Author’s writing style. I do like his stories well enough I guess! Could be edited better.

A JDFJ. Texas Western Action Adventure (CADS) (GMD) (TSOMDWSB -5)
JDFJ. has penned a Texas western action adventure titled, "Cast a Dark Shadow) which is about the gunfighter Morgan Deerfield. Here are to many people in the small town who now know whom he really is. However, the Sheriff is keeping the lid on. MD. is ambushed and having difficulty remaining alive. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS
