She's his boss. He's had a crush on her for a couple of summers now. Can Toni and Griffin mix business and pleasure while making sure the teens they're in charge of stay in line?
Griffin Johnson likes getting away from his brothers and the ranch every summer, going to Camp Clear Creek, where he's a counselor for teenage boys.
Finally, some peace.
He loves his brothers, don't get him wrong. He just needs a break sometimes. His desire to work at Clear Creek has nothing to do with the curvy, gorgeous Toni Beardall.
Noo, nothing at all.
Toni has just been promoted to the senior director at camp, and she's not accepting any funny business this summer. Not from the kids. Not from her counselors.
Oh, no, she is not.
Not only that, but she's just spent two years with the wrong guy. Finding another cowboy to break her heart?
Not happening.
Can Griffin find a way to heal Toni's heart? Or will their camp romance end when summer does?
That was the weirdest conflict resolution I ever read.
Also I thought it was quite disappointing we never found out anything about their past together, I’d have loved to know why and how he fell in love with her.
This is the last of the five Johnson brothers to become involved with the woman he wants to wed. Griffin Johnson has had a crush on Toni Beardall since working as a counselor at Camp Clear Creek for the previous two years. He has decided when he gets to the camp this year he will ask if they can discreetly see each other. Griffin goes over to Toni's cabin each evening and as he arrives one evening she is upset and out the door on the way to help her elder parents. Of course, Griffin offers to go with her so this will give them time to learn about each others lives. Things progress as you imagine it would working at a busy camp with lots of teens. Toni learns that the funding to this particular camp will not be donated any more so she and her assistant, Hailey, start calling for donations to try and keep the camp open. While doing the calling Hailey mentions that Griffin is wealth. This is something he has not discussed with Toni yet. He working through his mind wondering if he should or should not offer to fund the camp. In the meantime Toni confronts him about his wealth and why he didn't tell her? This causes lots of friction between the two of them. Griffin quits his job there and goes home. Now you will need to purchase the book to see how this cowboy does with the girl.
Griffin and Toni have their own adventures in this story of children's camp kids and romance
Griffin makes his approach to Toni the first night of camp and meet her as they bump into each other when she rushes out her door on her way to her parents. Griffin asked her if she needs to eat that he does and he wondered if they could eat together in town. She said she had to stop by the post office first and then go to her parents and he couldn't meet them. He said that was fine and he would stay in the car and wait for her. But when they got to her house her father was on the porch waiting for her and his packages. Toni rushes up to help her father back in the house and Griffin follows carrying the packages they picked up from the post office. He sees how people her parents are and he understands why she was concerned for them. Introductions all around and he has a good time chatting with her father while she goes and chats with her mother who opens the packages gleefully finding seeds for wildflowers. Toni wonders if that is what her life is going to be lonely and by herself later on with no one to share it with. They go for pizza and have a great time but it's crowded with other counselors and staff from the camp so there is no hand holding or kanoodling. They each face their own difficulties that camp including Toni discovers from Eddie that the camp is not going to have funding beyond this summer as their major donor has dropped out due to a death in the family. Toni is consumed with worry and doesn't know what the board of directors will come up with in a few weeks. Griffon has his own worries with this campers that he's counseling and he has to draw the young ones out into a cohesive group. Toni confides in Griffin how that the funding has been dropped and starts talking to him about how much it takes to run this camp but never gives him a definite figure. In the meantime he comes to her cabin every night to meet with her and talk with her and to get to know her better. He starts taking her out at night to dinner and they start to arrange times to meet on Tuesday and Thursday when they're not on duty. Their relationship grows and it's very satisfying for them both despite the fact that Toni never expected any relationship to work for her again. She'd been married wants to a very abusive man and it took her two years to get over it in 8 years at the camp to really grow to her own and be confident. But Griffin makes her comfortable and she laughs with him and talks with him and they play together well going kayaking and doing many other things together. Griffin is there for the whole summer and Toni works there full-time year-round. So they have plenty of time to get to know each other but as August approaches Toni gets more worried and worried about lack of funding. She and Hailey her assistant tried to do fundraising but they both only come up with a few thousand dollars and they need hundreds of thousands of dollars. She gets desperate and she has Griffin if he is rich and could he donate to the camp. He wonders how she heard about him having money and she said her assistant had heard something and for some reason that made him upset. They grab drinks at a fast food place and go for a drive trying to talk everything out but now there's a bit of awkwardness between them. As the days rule by and they get closer to September Toni gets more worried and more upset because they haven't got enough funding to stay open beyond September. Then one night Griffin comes to her cabin and she lays into him about him not speaking to her of the important things rather than just things about the camp and the ranch that he works on that he also owns part of. She blows up at him as she's so wrong out with worry she doesn't know what to do. She sends him away and tells him to leave her alone she needs to be alone that night. Since it's the end of a camp session and there's only a couple more coming up camp sessions that is Griffin decides to leave and go back home and quit the camp for now to lick his own wounds. His heart feels torn out and he doesn't even go to his brothers or goes home he goes to a friend's cabin and stays there for a few days to get his head on straight.
Loved their story! The beginning of the book was my favorite, with the humor and early romance. Toni cracked me up when she was thinking to herself about their first kiss..."a baby kiss, a ghost kiss, a baby ghost kiss" 😂😂😂 Then when she was frustrated, she referred to him as "Griffin Blasted Johnson" LOL
I did get pretty irritated with Griffin when he went to the beach party with that little hoochie Kiki...and he let her hold onto him. Then when Toni said it upset her, he actually had the gall to say he didn't need to tell her everything he does?! Ugh! I loved Griffin's character, but that was very cold.
A few wrong and misplaced words here and there made it a little confusing at times. One scene where they are out to eat, he has his cowboy hat on as it says he adjusted it, but a page or two later, while they are still in that restaurant he goes to adjust it and "remembers he left it behind".
But all in all it was a great story. Looking forward to reading Darren's story as we were left hanging a little!
Griffin doesn’t need to work but he loved working as a camp counselor at the Camp Clear Creek. Toni lives for the camp where she is the director. Camp Clear Creek is everything for her, so when she heard the main donator just dropped and they have no money to keep the camp open, she feels that her world was crumbling down. I like both characters; they are kind, caring and like to help others, especially children. I like to see the rest of the family too. It is like there is a continuation of the books even though they are stand alone. However, I would have liked to know more about Mike and Lars. I did enjoy the book which was well-written and easy to read. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
I loved getting to know more about Griff and Toni in this story. Toni is the head of the camp program where Griff and Rex worked for the past 3 seasons. But the camp is struggling financially. Things get somewhat awkward because Toni puts up walls because of her past and tries to handle taking care of aging parents. The one thing I found really distracting about this book was when Serena and Darren are introduced too early in the story considering their story will be the next book.
It was a good book that I enjoyed reading. So check it out for yourself.

Griffin is away working on a camp where Toni works he helps out with rex often this time he goes on his own. (Not sure why it took him years to notice her) there was a big Chunk that was focusing on the next book Toni was not in it for ages.it felt like you put your book down and picked up the next in the series without finishing that one.luckily we got back to the story but it was fast oh I love you the end.
I have read all the books to up to this point and have enjoyed them all. Book four needs some editing as toward the end of the book the mother's name and the child's name was Holly! A little confusing. All the books are a nice clean, no foul language no sex romance. The brothers all great characters. You want to visit Texas to just look for guys like them!!
It started out so good. The tension between Toni and Griffin with their roles and the money made me want to keep reading. Where the author lost me was chapter 20 when she threw in a second storyline. There were 4 chapters of this storyline that just didn’t fit. It honestly ruined the rest of the story for me.
So far Griffin and Toni are my favorite. She runs the summer camp that Griffin works at. He is bound to find his lady love. Toni isn't looking for love but is drawn to Griffin. We get a glimpse at a bonus couple.
This series is great, I enjoy reading about how each brothers fall in love ad how it turn out for them in the way , special how it got told from some looking in on there lives,
She is his boss and he has had a crush on her for a while. They are looking after teens so will they be able to connect? will the crush become more? See if they have a relationship

Enjoyed reading about Griffin and Toni. Toni runs a summer camp and Griffin helps as a counselor. Sparks fly between them but they don't want the oth ers at camp to know. Fun and exciting. She loses funding so things it gets awkward.
Great little love story. Strong characters and just enough romance. No ugly language, just a light hearted romance and proving that truth is always the way to go...
Not the best book in the series but still kept my interest. Each brother has different personality and different story. Would read again and would recommend as part of the series.
Really enjoying this Series, learning about the Johnson Brothers. Their lives, loves and Marriage’s. Can recommend these books. It’s like a Geography lesson too.
This one seemed a little like formula fiction. That being said,I liked hearing the continuation of all the characters and am looking forward to the next installments.
Griffin is the odd man out. He wants a life partner like his brother and there is one woman who meets his eye. He is into a rough time as Toni has sworn off men after her ex husband.
Another good book in this series. That said however, someone involved in publishing her work needs to realize that using a spellchecker application is NOT the same as proofreading thoroughly!!!
Wow, all of those Johnson men are special in their own way. Griffin and Toni struggle getting a relationship started. This is a very interesting and inspiring story.
Enjoyed this story of the next brother to fall in love. I enjoyed seeing the relationship build between the couple and I loved they had things to work through.
