So this book surprised me in a lot of ways and it was very unique, i enjoyed the writing style and the plot of this story a lot. While the romance was lacking, the mc Alvarr is stunning and i adored his growth throughout.
This story is 3 parts put together, but all flows together as they continue straight on from last part. So I'm glad chose to read all together as definitely be cliffhanger types, if paused in between parts and it was great to jump straight into the rest of the book.
I will admit the second part is my favourite and actually 4 stars for that section, but the begin and end parts were not as fun. This part of the story was spent largely with Alvarr alone on a journey, exploring their world and trying to figure out the origins of their people.
He is looking to solve the rift in their history and help everyone survive the season. Figuring out his magic and communicating with nature, learning the truth and bringing back to the tribe. It was an interesting exploration and i loved the growth in Alvarr, finding his own strength and importance.
Didn't care for the love interest Laven he wasn't around for much except for the mating scenes, outside of those he was mainly a jerk towards Alvarr so i wasn't a fan at all. He is somewhat sweet towards the end, but bit too late for me by then. Their relationship was purely a result of mate bond, they hardly agree on anything in any talks except for the steamy scenes.
I will say the world building, the shapeshifting and the story itself is stunning though. Not read much with horse shifters so was an interesting read, also they spend more time in horse form than human which was different to what would expect but made sense with their connection to nature.
Overall an entertaining read, with some great themes and intriguing story. The ending is rather open, but still sweet and completed the story on a happy note as the tribe looks towards a brighter future.

This was a really good book. It is mpreg and I love seeing horse shifters. Just thinking about all that grace and power. The long flowing manes. So beautiful. But this had some good twists in it. And I really enjoyed them.
Alvarr was so tired of feeling alone. Ever since he was shipped off to the stallion tribe, every one seems in fear of him and treats him like he’s a pariah or something. And three stallions in particular, live to torment him daily, by calling him a mare and trying to rape him. And when he brings it to the attention of the leader, Laren, he basically tells him to suck it up and defend himself. Which of course, pisses Alvarr off. He’s the mage of the tribe. He’s trying his best to save them and keep them going through these bad times and no one shows one ounce of gratitude or respect. Except for the Elders. But the night of Mating comes and even though Alvarr was told to stay put, he has to go to save a stallion who is badly injured and in no shape to try to mate. But as he’s out there he starts to see something else. It’s true that there are true mates and the stories of the rift and their pasts are true. He also finds out the leader is drawn to him and they spend their own time mounting. But when it’s over, Laren ignores him like he doesn’t exist. But his tune changes when Alvarr goes on a mission he is led by Nature to take. While he is gone, Laren is fraught with worry. And when Alvarr comes home, some new discoveries are brought to life. But will these discoveries and changes be what everyone needs to survive and heal the rift, or are they going to cause even more dissention in the ranks? Because right now, Alvarr is in fear for his life and that of another.
It breaks my heart when people, fictional or not, are so damn prejudiced, bigoted and down right hateful to people who are different. In this case, it’s so stupid to me, because the one person they are shunning, is the one person that is saving everyone’s lives. But they are too blinded by fears and uncertainties to move beyond what they aren’t sure of. Sure, making changes and starting new is hard and scary as hell, but in order to make change, you have to start change within yourself and keep going outward. I felt for Alvarr so bad. Not only did he feel like the outcast in the stallion tribe, he felt left out and abandoned by his mother. He knows nothing of his gifts or how to use them and it’s all scary and confusing to him. But what makes it worse, is when the man who is supposed to be his mate, basically refuses him. He refuses to believe mates are real. It’s like a slap in the face. What amazes me with Alvarr, though, is that he never gives up. No matter what he has to face, he keeps trying and keeps going. If he gets knocked down, he gets back up and tried again. He's so strong and courageous, even when he feel so weak and helpless.
It’s a hard journey for Alvarr. These three books in one is basically the story of his life and those around him. All from his perspective and what he’s trying to accomplish. And the heavy burden he has to bear. It’s a good story. There are some you want to smack the crap out of, but hey, when it’s there. Lol. If you haven’t read these, you should give them a try.

Fascinating
This was really a very unique story and I’m glad I read it. It’s a high fantasy, a world of horse shifters who are living in troubled times. The tribe long ago split into two, the mares are the stallions forced apart by forgotten magic. The main character, Alvarr, is a stallion mage, which is very rare since most mages are mares. He’s struggling to control his power while feeling like a freak among his tribe. The stallion leader, Levan and he feel drawn to each other and it grows more intense as the breeding season arrives.
The world of this book is odd but interesting. We only read about these horse shifters. There’s no regular humans or other kinds of shifters. The shifters live very primitively, but there are references to their ancestors being more advanced, which kind of reminded me of a post-apocalyptic story. I was curious about the world beyond the horse shifters, for sure.
To be honest, i hesitate to call this a romance, per se. There is sex, in horse and human form both, but the emotions propelling the Alvarr and Levan seem more mystical than typically romantic. They’re confused and then accepting, mostly, with little snippets of warmth. But mostly this series seemed to be about a journey of acceptance and healing.
The world and characters were interesting enough that, though this felt definitely different than the average shifter MM romance, I still enjoyed reading this!

I thought this was a great story about a stallion mage that heals a rift that happened way before he was born, which has lead to the mares and stallions living in different groups together. I enjoyed that the author did research in herd dynamics and also how they breed. The only thing that bugged me about the book was that it could have been better edited. The amount of wrong way facing quote marks was super annoying and there was some missing words and a couple of mixed up names. But overall it was a very entertaining story that I read straight through. I read this book using the Kindle Unlimited program.

Good but needs editing
The story was overall good. I did wish for it to be faster paced. It was only 417 pages (print length) and it took me a long time to get through it. A lot of the pacing was thrown off by a lot of editing issues and inconsistencies. I struggled to like Laren basically up until their daughter was born. A lot of it is just brushed off as that's just the way all stallions are because of the rift but he did some pretty horrible things to his mate. I would still read more from this author however because I do think they have some skills as a storyteller.

Wonderful Story Poor Editing
I really enjoyed this story. It was a wonderful story line. I like the fact that t here wasn't a lot of sense scenes like the other Omegaverse books. My only dislike about this book is that neither the author nor the editors did a good at editing the manuscript before publishing it. Otherwise it's an excellent story.
