Lately, I've been reading so many books on starting a YouTube Channel. Though there were some gold nuggets in the others, and those gold nuggets were worth their weight, this is the ONLY one that went into step-by-step detail on HOW to have a successful channel.
When someone says they want to start a channel, three other books get mentioned... and it's not this one.
I'm not sure why this one gets overlooked since it has the most consistent and most actionable information. If I could do it all over again, I would have read this first and skimmed the rest

I feel like this book gives some pretty solid advice if you are brand new to starting a YouTube channel. It covers all the basics like figuring out your channel niche, developing your brand, some of the tech details and gear needed, as well as help understanding the YouTube algorithm. It is a great book if you read it right now (2021) but I am afraid it won't age well because a lot of the information is heavily dependent upon the current iteration of YouTube and, as the platform evolves, some of the information will become outdated and irrelevant.

One of the best book for YouTube
Wow.. This is the 2nd book about Youtube channel growth that I’ve read and I am blown away.
What I really like is that the author not just teaches you the tactics but actually show you step by step how to do it. I especially loved the mini yet powerful tips that one can only gain by experience on Youtube. I am about to start a YouTube channel and I found these tips to be very helpful. From starting a new Youtube channel to scaling it to a full business, this book has everything. Thanks so much for writing this book, Joseph and sharing your knowledge.

Good read for those who doesn't know how to use Youtube.
This book explain how to create a Youtube channel and explain example how the Author use it. Most of these information are also found in Youtube.
Last couple of chapters it explain how to help promote your channel which become more interesting. As these information are not mention in a lot of videos in Youtube.

Good Top Level Resource
If you’re contemplating a YouTube channel, you’ll get strategies, tactics, tools, suggestions and a bunch of good information in this easy to read book. While some authors write short books as an infomercial for their classes or products, Hogue gives you real meat here, and only soft pitches his course. A good resource and good read.

Great book
I actually learned new ideas for a YouTube beginner. A lot of other books seemed to only state tips that everyone else already said. This book had unique detailed ideas in it. I would purchase more from the author and am considering it. I am a new youtuber.

Very interesting book and well-written. The most detailed and honest that I found and read until now. Learned a lot and still have to learn a lot about YouTube. New YouTuber here and it feels like a huge mountain to climb with all the crazy amount of videos on YouTube and great channels out there.

I gleaned several helpful tips from this book that I hadn't seen anywhere else. Some things are redundant if you've already been researching YT and/or SEO, however, overall I felt it was worth my time and the effort it took to read (which was not a lot; it's fairly straightforward and to the point.)

Whilst there is some good advice in here for new people setting out on YouTube, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend for those who have been doing this for some time.
I also totally disagree with the part where the author was talking about spending put up to £2,000 for equipment for starting out. Only someone in a very privileged position can do such a thing. I have learned from experience that an iPhone (for example) can actually produce decent quality video and generally comes with the iMovie app built in for editing. Most people own smart phones, laptops and/or PCs so you can easily use what you have to hand to make good videos. If you are able to, then there’s nothing to stop you upgrading if/as/when you start earning money from YouTube or through other means.
