Remi White learned the hard way that sometimes in life we have to do what we don’t want to get what we do need. Started this book this afternoon and did not want to put it down. This was an interesting take on romance and Neo is one of my new favorite characters. I found it just as hard as Remi not to fall for him. Excellent read!

5 Star Read!
First and foremost, I thoroughly enjoy Ms. A. Marie’s first book, “Holding His Heart” so it’s no surprise that Remi and Neo’s story was enjoyable. I don’t really like novellas as I hate to get consumed int a story and it quickly ends. However, I’m happy to say that I read this one. Remi and Neo are set apart from characters that I’ve grown so accustomed to seeing in the Urban romance/urban lit/ urban fiction genre. And the same can be said about the storyline.
Quick, short read, but certainly memorable.

This was a good book. I truly felt that Remi and Neo were meant to be. I’m happy they figured it out. True love should always prevail.

Risky.....Perfect title for Neo and Remy's journey. This was different, fun and risky! I took a chance to read this and I'm glad I did! Nice debut Ms. Johnson. I'll be reading more from you!

I will admit I am not a huge novella fan because I always tend to want more. So when Risky started showing up in my feed, I added it to my TBR list for one of those days I needed something quick to read and not so consuming. Then A. Marie asked if I would read it to review. Of course, I told her I would love to, and I am glad I did. Risky was awesome! Usually, a novella has me wanting more, but this one left me feeling complete.
We have sweet innocent Remi who is having a hard time making ends meet. Her best friend tells her about this opportunity where she would be able to make some money. Remi is nervous because she never thought she would have to sleep with someone to pay her bills. She is desperate, and so she goes for it. When she arrives at the room, things are not what they seem. What she is being offered is risky because if she gets caught, then her whole life will change for the worse. But if she succeeds, then her life would be so much better.
As soon as Remi walked through the door, the only thing Neo could think about was brown sugar. He knew then that she was different, and he didn’t want to taint her, but he needed her, and she was perfect for what he had in store. He just hadn’t planned on falling for her in the process. The problem was Remi was hot one moment and cold towards him the next. Not being the one who likes to play games, he made it all about business. But after this last heist, would he be able to walk away from her at the end as he planned?
Risky is about a girl who is risking her heart, mind, body, soul, and freedom. She had never felt the emotions that she was feeling before, so she didn’t know how to handle them. Neo was the same. He didn’t trust anyone, and he has always been a loner, so when she came into the picture, he was willing to risk his heart and give up the last job to be with her. They both were fighting their feelings for the other, and when Remi realized that what she wanted was Neo, she too late.
Overall Risky is a fantastic read. It gives you that bad boy vibe from Neo and that sweet innocence from Remi. Although it is a novella, you aren’t feeling unfulfilled. Would you want more of these two? Definitely, but it was a slow-burning read that had you craving to know how it all turned out. A. Marie did a fabulous job of developing their relationship and character development. I felt like I knew these characters without having to read a whole novel. This is a novella you should pick up and read.

Remi and Neo, they indeed had a risky arrangement that became an attachment to one another like a piranha's aggressive grip. The story was very intense and had me enthralled with each page turned. Their chemistry was nearly flammable. I liked the idea of their story. The only thing I needed was more time for the couple to be together... Maybe next time!

THEIR CHEMISTRY WAS 🔥
TO ME THIS WAS A SLOW BURN THAT BURNED OUT TOO FAST. LIKE I GET IT BEING A NOVELLA, BUT WHY DID IT HAVE TO END AS SOON AS IT WAS GETTING GOOD🙄🤦🏽♀️.
IT WAS SUPER SLOW UNTIL THE FIRST PART THEY ATTENDED AND THEN BOOM IT WAS ALL GAS NO BREAKS, THEY PARTED WAYS, FAST FORWARD SIX MONTHS LIFE IS THRIVING FOR HER AND HE RETURNS TO FIX WHAT THEY BOTH EFFED UP, THEN THE END 🙄

Very Good
This was so not what I expected. It’s short but lacking nothing. This thing between Neo and Brown was so real. You can sense the feelings they have for each other and how their tough decisions affects one another. I enjoyed this book.

Remi was a young woman who was down on her luck. Her BFF Jalisa gave her the name of a man who wanted her services. In apprehension, she agreed to meet him . However, the man in the hotel room she was to meet was an Alpha that was sexy from head to toe. Neo watched the beauty enter and was equally intrigued with her skin and look.
The two entered into an arrangement to benefit each other but chemistry took over and heat enveloped them both. Heat that only the other could match.
A great read with heat and mystery. First time reading this author, but will not be my last. Wish this had been a full blown novel.

Just As Good As The Original
This re-release was just as good as the original. The tempo was the same to me. I can't remember what the dollar was or if what happened six months later was in the original or not, but it was really good. I enjoyed rereading Neo and Brown's story. "I'll always be down to get a little risky for you."

Loved this one!
Remi and Neo! So good, I loved this story! Remi was this innocent girl that was that down on her luck and Neo was the bad boy that she didn’t know that she needed! I was frustrated with Neo because he wouldn’t let his guard down and I was a little sad at his letter! Lol. I’m glad he came to his senses at the end!! Remi deserves all the love! Good read. ❤️

The feelssss
Neo has so much that scared his past but he let Remi open him up. I loved how he gave her the nickname Brown. Their chemistry was quick but it was enticing. I couldn’t put it down. I was happy that he came back for her. I wanted more. I wanted to see how far their relationship would go.

Great read!
Although this was the first book that I have read by this a, I am looking forward to reading more of her books. This was a short, fun read that was quite romantic and I would have love to read more about Remi and Neo. Their bond was quite refreshing.

I loved it. I thought it was sad to hear that Neo neva had a family due to his mother leaving him in the hospital after he was born. It wasn't fair that he was in jail for 10 years for a crime he didn't commit but yet he got to meet he someone who became a bro and his best friend. When he first met Remi I thought they was just going to have sex and he pay her that it but when he set up a plan for her to help him get a lot of money I was like wowwww. It's crazy how her landlord was such an a** but glad Neo was able to help her get her stuff. I believe they would be a cute couple. It's sad that he up n left her like that but if she would have just not been so scared maybe it would have been different but again God still brought him back to her n now hopefully they will be able to keep each other happy. I definitely can't wait for part 2 to come out will be patiently wait loll.

Mystery, suspense, and intrigued
This novella was filled with mystery, suspense, and intrigue. The no nonsense banter between Remix and Neo added to their chemistry, attraction, and connection to each other. Totally opposite, they were able to open up to each in way they never had before, which scared them on a deeper level. Their risky arrangement led the couple to unexpectedly to risk their hearts as well.
This story had good characters and a good plot. You learned things about the characters that lead them to take the risks they did. I like that the ending didn't end in the traditional "neat and in bow" type of way. The ending truly fit the characters and their personalities. It also gives hope that maybe we'll see them again in the future in some kind of way. This story was a joy to read, and I will recommend to add it to your TBR list.

What a romantic storyline that will leave you saying..."awww". This was well written and had a beautiful storyline. I loved the chemistry that Neiman and Brown, as he called her, had. Although she was getting on my nerves a bit, everything still worked out fine. Question thou... She said that he left "us".... Was she pregnant??? All in all great read and was really enjoyable as it took a tone down from my regular reading pleasure.

Wow
I actually read this book because it was mentioned in another one of her books I read that I enjoyed. I like this book because it was your unconventional love story. The plot was cool and the characters even better. I met my unconventional love almost 34 years ago. After 2 weeks we were married and still are to this day. The heart wants what the heart wants even when it’s unconventional as love you are not looking for.

Instant Attraction❤❤
Neo was attracted to Remi from the very first night but he was trying not to mix business with personal. Jalisa was Remi's friend who put her in place for the business proposition with Neo and who advised her not to get personal nor attached to Neo but it was too late. Neo and Remi fell out and he left town. He returned months later for them to try at a relationship.

Good
This read was short but it was good. I would like to have known more about the other 2 characters more. More about all of their backgrounds. A lot could have been added to make it longer. What all was he doing in Bahamas for those 6 months? She was miserable. We knew about. His misery we didn't. It was good just needed more.

Real Nice
Remy was a complex, uniquely feminine creature. Neo was mysterious, dangerously handsome, and an expert technology hacker.. Once he convinced Remy to do the final heist with him it was supposed to be goodbye. His heart had a different idea, and so did hers. This was a really nice story. I hope to hear more about their relationship later.....

This was my first read by this author.... and I'm very impressed. I started this book today and since I got it I haven't been able to put down.... Neo is so complex until its sexy... And Brown seems like my kinda girl! Great job A. Marie I'm looking forward to reading more from you!

A risk worth taking!
I loved the development of this story. The relationship between Neo and Remi was non traditional and unexpected. What God has for you is for you no matter how much you try to avoid it and pave your own way. This book was well written, and although it wasn't your typical read, I really enjoyed this book. I would definitely recommend it.

This love story was cute enticing and I liked the type of innocence in Ms Remi. I loved the restaurant name... a lot. That was one of my favorite parts. The cover was dope and it was a quick read.
