From the blog: "The entire planet has been consumed by violence and despair. Hijinks ensue. Contains mature themes (profanity/gore) and immature humor (dicks/butts)."
An alien race called the Shades has invaded the Feracon Republic, a place where both humans and humanoid animals live together.
Law enforcers Nova and Macy (a determined human and a genius fox, respectively) team up with Talon, a Shade in search of redemption. Together they attempt to escape Feracon City to possibly start a resistance.
That is, until they find an orphan and get word of a Conversion Camp within the city, a place where human survivors are taken to be added to a mindless hivemind in service to the Shade.
Their escape attempt has just turned into a rescue mission!
[The webcomic has gone on hiatus after the completion of its first arc, which still manages a resolution of sorts. The author is taking a long sabbatical, and has expressed a certain ambivalency in regards to continuing the story.]
Suffers a bit from telling instead of showing, especially when it comes to the characters' inner conflicts, and it doesn't really know how silly or serious it wants to be, which accounts for occasional inconsistencies in the tone that can be a bit jarring. It's a bit of an immature work, in that way.
And yet, the cast is pretty solid, what with their personalities, and the way they interact with one another. That's a pretty hard thing to nail, and took the story from "meh" territory to a point where I was actually invested.
I really hope AnimatedJames decides to continue it.
