My Review:
I've had a hard time deciding how to write this review. Not because I didn't love the book. I absolutely do, but I may be unfairly biased about this book. You see, I've gotten to read this book several times, but most of them were before it was released. I was thrilled and shocked several months ago when Lexxie contacted me to read a book that she was in the process of writing...this book...and offer feedback. So yes, I may be a little biased because I love Rick & Kenna and how this book came together for Lexxie.
This is book #2 in the Fire Mates series. Book #1 was Ty the Sexy Dragon (and yes, I loved it just as much as I did this one!) These books take place in Australia and are about dragon shifters. In this world that Lexxie has created, dragon shifters recognize their fire mates immediately upon meeting. If they don't consummate that mating call within 12 hours of first coming in contact, bad things happen (dragon side taking over and doing really bad things in public.) But you can see how in our world today, this could be a little awkward, especially if one of those people didn't know anything about firemates or dragon shifters. This is the brilliance of Lexxie's writing....we are talking seriously sexy chemistry and tension in the midst of the craziness of the situation. She adds TONS of humor into these books and I constantly find myself either giggling for fanning myself. They are just incredibly well-done and written. They are so much fun to read.
In this one, Rick is the comic relief, because OMG, his humor just kills me. He's a laidback kind of guy normally, but the situation here is way out of his control and comfort zone. The internal thought processes that he goes through are nothing short of hilarious. He's also a vet with an interesting healing power that explains a lot of how he ends up as a Dragon shifters mate. If you like books about shifters, if you like erotic romance, if you like books with humor...you NEED to pick up this series. I don't think that you will be disappointed...at all. They are fun and sexy and just too much fun to read!!!
And psst, I will tell you a secret. Lexxie would send me passages that were unedited or proofed...and geez, this girl can write! I am talking perfection on the first pass!!! As someone trying to find my writing voice, it was really intimidating to see how well a real writer does it at the first pass...LOL! Oh, and if you read this book, be sure to look at the dedication page. ;o)

Loved it! Dragon shifter books are my favorite. This author can really pen excellent shifter books. After reading "Ty the Sexy Dragon" the first book in the Fire Mate series, I have been waiting for the sequel "How to Love you Dragon".
This book does not disappoint, there's humor(I'm talking laugh out loud"), lots of sexual chemistry. What a fun and great read! Rick and Kenna were hilarious.

Fantastic Book
The story is well-written and the author is very talented. It has action, passion, pleasure, and steamy love scenes that leaves you saying ahhh with awesome characters? A must buy and keep them coming.

How do you not fall in love with Rick? Great looking, funny as hell, and he most amazing vet you will ever know. Could have something to do with his Druid blood. Kenna is a no nonsense cop, that wants nothing to do with her dragon half. She will not shift and she sure as heck does not want to admit to the fire that starts in herself after she stops Rick to give him a ticket. Neither of them can put it off for long, and they find themselves not only facing the present and the future, but the past life the Rick has to comes to grips with and explain to Kenna. Great book, looking forward to the third one in the series..

Holy hotness! No pun intended This was one very steamy read right of the bat. Extremely hot and very humorous.
Rick a self confessed player finds himself madly in lust with the cop, Kenna, that pulled him over for speeding. At risk of seriously throwing himself at her and having his way he speeds away leaving her no choice but to chase. She feels this undeniable connection too and its waking up her dragon. Which means only one thing. She found her fire mate.
The one person destined for her. Kenna's been denying her dragon side for a long time and wants no part of this but she can't fight this. She has no choice but to claim her mate.
I really love both the characters in this one. Rick is so much fun. He doesn't take himself seriously and is just a really sweet guy. And Kenna is this strong female take no prisoners character. The banter and chemistry between the two is a lot of fun. The only times it got confusing was when Rick was remembering parts of his past life as a druid and was holding a conversation at the same time. It just got very jumbled there. But overall LOVED this! Very explosive read and fun read.

Ooooh! Another dragon shifter mating story. :-) *crazy happy grin* And of course, since it's written by Lexxie Couper, it's sexy as all heck.
This time the dragon shifter in question is Kenna, a cop who has made her home in Sydney after running away from tragedy in her native United States. Our lucky hero is Yorick, or Rick, as he's called, cousin to Sera from Ty the Sexy Dragon.
Yorick (I like that name!) is a rogue and a charmer with a special way with animals. I love Rick. He's such a lovely guy. I always have a soft spot for a rogue.
As for Kenna, poor girl, she's so conflicted after her tragedy, and years and years of suppressing her dragon, but alas, the mating fire is too strong to be denied, which leads to some lovely, sexy shenanigans.
There's an interesting twist in the story when we find out who Rick was in a past life, and I loved the cameo appearance of Ty and the reference to Sera.
All in all, a fun, short, sexy read. A sneaky little birdie told me there might be a third book coming out soon. Stay tuned!

When these two meet when Kenna pulls Rick over the sparks and humor fly. When Rick begins to have flashes from a previous life things get complicated. There is a small probelm between Kenna and Rick, but it all works out in the end. If you like dragon shifters be sure to check this series out. Lots of humor and lots of HOT sex!

This is book two in the Fire Mate series, but I have not read the first one and it seems to be able to stand on its own very well.
The romance and connection between Kenna and Rick is well done. The sexual chemistry is hot, the supernatural pull is strong, and the love feels genuine. The humor is fun and gives you deeper glimpses of their personalities. Their physical interactions were hot and intense. What I wasn’t really expecting was the reincarnation aspect to be the main focus with the memories coming in spurts. It was interesting, but not exactly my cup of tea. I think I will like the first book a lot more when I go back and read it.
Overall- a good read! Well Done Ms. Couper.

Didn't work for me as well as the first in the series (Ty the Sexy Dragon). One irritating thing was the use of the same phrases over and over for her feelings of desire ("her pussy clenched" and "her nipples pinched"); it was just distracting as a repetition. I definitely would like to read more in the Fire Mate series when they come out. (I can imagine a follow up to book one featuring the brother Ryan that Ty mentions he is waiting for in the pizza place.)

Second FIRE MATES BOOK BY LEXXIE COUPER IS FABULOUS!!
I ABSOLUTELY HAVE FALLEN IN LOVE WITH HER SERIES!! She has the ability to bring her characters emotions through her writing and combine them with a terrific storyline of finding FIRE MATES. THE CHARACTERS INNER DIALOGUES ARE GOING TO KEEP YOU WELL ENTERTAINED!!

This was a cute book. The author's humor carried it when the plot would have otherwise been rediculous. I'm not a fan of reincarnation stories, but this was so stinking cute I didn't care.
