I think my favorite running thread from this series is the fact that Miyano exclusively consumes gay manga (and gay movies and gay everything), but is still completely gobsmacked (I finally get to use that word!) at the prospect of being attracted to a man in real life. Oh, this isn't a criticism by the way, because like... I felt that. I guess my point is that sometimes you know for sure, even if you didn't know for sure. Relatable stuff here. I mean, this is a pretty simple manga and it's probably not that deep, but hey! That's never stopped me from over-analyzing before!
This is definitely the slow burn romance type but as I’ve mentioned in the previous volumes it’s not dragged out. The pacing is perfect and with the current timeline it makes more sense rather than a sudden love at first sight and unnecessary conflicts. The author has got a perfect blend of slice of life and romance in the story. Enjoying it very much so far.
I know Miyano is trying to work out his feelings but oh my goodness. I just want them to get together at this point, make some sort of progress. Unfortunately, we spend another volume with Miyano realizing that he cares for Sasaki but doesn’t know if he has romantic feelings for him. My feelings actually hurt for Sasaki because you can tell that he’s being patient for Miyano but it’s hurting him to do so. I can’t imagine being in all of these intimate moments with someone I have feelings for only to continually get turned down. I am hoping that volume 6 will give us some sort of progress. Honestly, if you’re a fan of super slow burn romance then you’ll enjoy this one. While I like slow burn romance, I think this one is being dragged on too long.
Todos los personajes son tan lindos y buenos ¡Y la relación que tiene entre todos también es de lo más bonito! Ya quiero leerme también la historia de Hirano con su compañero de habitación ♡
I know some people find the slow-burn too slow-burn, but honestly, that’s a big part of why I love this manga so much: it’s about a high school kid dithering and overthinking so much that he’d put Hamlet to shame, and that’s exactly, one hundred percent, what it’s like to be in high school. Being a person is hard.
OMG! It just keep getting better and better, the scene at the festival was everything! It was so sweet and I love when Sasaki is vulnerable with Miyano. The cross-dress scene was hilarious and I love how Kuresawa knows about how Sasaki is feeling towards Miyano, by the way, he acts.
There's a bit more stuff going on, plot-wise, like the festival and the movie date. The highlight wasn't the festival or the drag contest but that one scene where Sasaki gets jealous and locks the door behind him to get some time alone with Miyano.
This was one of the better volumes overall but my favourite is still volume 2.
It's nice that Sasaki is willing to wait for Miyano but it's not moving the story much so this manga is definitely character-driven. Miyano is a 100% fudanshi (BL fanboy) and it permeates every inch of his life. I'm really liking how complex President Hanzawa seems to be especially since the mangaka introduced us to his family.
The slow burn continues but in a good way. This is probably my favorite cover so far. The story is sweet and gives the characters time to really consider their own feelings. If you prefer your romances to be fast paced this isn't for you. But if you like your characters to feel more realistic and uncertain about their decisions, you definitely need to give this manga (or anime) a try. It's adorable.
This is the cutest cover yet. Ugh another slow burn... Look I need a confession either way at this point cause Sasaki is too adorable and so is Miyano. I know we got acceptance and his concerns are valid when you are potentially gonna date a good friend. Also it seems like everyone knows but Miyano! But it is still very cute, I like that the friends are still in the story and it is not just he MLs.
picked this volume up pretty early (thank the lord for barnes and noble)
all the angst....all the FEELS. this had some UBER cute parts especially from sasaki. miyano, I am about to slap you across the face, because you are stringing this poor senpai along. just freaking admit you like him already!!!!!

i guess he doesn't realize he likes sasaki till the next volume, but i like that miyano isn't in denial that he might like a guy, it's that he doesn't want to accept sasaki's confession and later on realize that he didn't actually like him like that

Miyano finally realizes his feelings in this one and it’s so cute! I love the dynamic between all the characters and the different personalities. Love all the little side comments and background characters that also react to sasaki and miyano! I can’t wait to read the next volumes!
