She was left for dead, but Mia wasn’t truly lost until her Alpha found her.
No woman willingly travels to the Boundarylands.
It’s where they are—the Alphas.
They keep to themselves in the wilderness, and beta civilization knows to keep its distance. Especially beta women…for fear they may not be a beta after all.
The only way to know your true nature is to feel the touch of an Alpha. Omegas may be rare, but every woman knows their fates are hellish—held captive, broken, mated, knotted, and bred.
Injured and abandoned in the heart of the Boundarylands, Mia knows her chances of making it back to civilization alive are slim. Still, she has to try. But when a massive Alpha captures her first, she can’t stop the desire she feels for him.
Mia has always been a survivor, but not even she can fight the overwhelming hunger surging through her, or the need to be his in every possible way.
Ever since she was little, Callie Rhodes' imagination has been landing her in trouble. From daydreaming about far off worlds in class, to escaping into the made up stories of her mind in the meeting room, she's been creating tales to take her away from the real world for as long as she can remember. Now she lives among the tall trees of Northern California, and has found a way to make a living off her fantasies.
College student Mia took the opportunity to escape with her boyfriend and his friend for a concert and some freedom, only things don't go according to plan and her high boyfriend and his vindictive friend drop her off in the Boundarylands as punishment.
Ty is shocked to see a woman obviously hurt in front of his bar, ehen he touches her and her dynamic is revealed he's stunned to realize she's his Omega.a
But this isn't going to be a peaceful claiming, Mia's senator father wants his daughter back by any means necessary. Mia is feeling stressed and wants to finally own her choices so she withholds her claim from Ty leaving room for the authorities to dispute their bond, but Ty isn't willing to let anything stand in his way.....not even Mia herself
******* Book 1 was okish but I didn't really like this one.
Another pretty short read so everything was on fast forward, instant connection, insta lust triggers insta heat so there isn't much room for relationship development
Mia is another woman who was conditioned to believe the worst of Alphas. She only presents as an Omega in Ty's presence so it's a whirlwind of change for her making her hesitant. The thing I didn't like about Mia was her behavior concerning her boyfriend and her father. Her boyfriend let her be abused and actually helped drag her out of the car to abandon her in the most dangerous area known to man and she actually claimed he was drunk so she might forgive him. Her father had been physically abusive to her yet she still hoped for his love....girl thus book is too damn short for your many issues okkkkk. Ugh she annoyed me so much
And Ty, he was the typical bossy Alpha but him trying to blackmail Mia into claiming him made me not a fan of his at all.I
The books continue to be basic, we actually don't get Ty's background or how things came to be as they are
The books are short and because I really want to read "safe" Omegaverse right now I'm continuing with the series
No cheating Ty had also slept with the prostitutes that came to his bar every Friday( I actually didn't mind this given their situation. They really don't ever expect to get their Omega) Mia has an ex who was a weak idiot, he was around for a tiny bit
I liked this book, though I didn’t enjoy it as much as the first one. Mia really got on my nerves with her hesitancy. I understand wanting to take control of your life, but at some point, you have to be logical about things and I feel like she wasn’t at all.
I’m also not a big fan of the pushing someone away over and over again and then all the sudden feeling extremely bad about it once you almost lose them trope. I don’t think that plot line is one that should be used as much as it is. I made me come out of this book feeling like Ty was extremely underappreciated and I wanted it to be over.
Now, I don't mind a hero that uses a bit of brute force and persuasion, like in the first book of this series. But my gosh does this "hero" go way too far even for me. DNF maybe about 50%. There was no explaining, no talking, just pure descusting manipulation of a confused and previously abused girl.
I tried but I was getting bored of this. For some reason this one didn’t work for me like Book 1 did - maybe it was the fact that it felt like a carbon copy of the plot from the previous one. As a result, I’m giving this two stars as there wasn’t much difference between the two books. Same meet-cute, same girl running from an ex. And being scared when our big alpha turns up etc etc
I actually felt this one was better than the previous book! Mia is headstrong, I like that. :D I think these books might get better as we progress through them. I'm at least quite happy with Mia and Ty's story. :D
Premise: The FMC is left injured and abandoned by her boyfriend in the Boundarylands (the dangerous zone where alphas live), and presents as an omega upon running into the MMC. Cue “who did this to you?”, heat sex, and dealing with life and death situations.
It might be a bit early to judge, but I have a feeling this series is going to be enjoyably formulaic — kind of like the omegaverse version of a sweet mafia instalove novella. I liked this one more than the first book, probably because I knew what I was getting into, and it was a quick and easy read.
Generously giving this 2 stars. To start this off, the content editing/proof-reading was in desperate need on this book. This could have been a better rating just for the mistakes... The flow was a bit slow, even considering all the mistakes having to be stumbled thru. I think these could be read as stand alone books in the series. There really wasn't a world building in the first book, and not in this book-to explain what these Alphas are or how the world evolved into these sort of dystopian separated type societies (Betas versus Alphas). Sometimes the Alphas act like cavemen, or animalistic, & they seem to have super strength & speed, but they don't shape-shift, that's about all the info provided. I didn't understand where they came from, are they from an evolutionary process, or alien invasion, or? This really hurt the story, cause I kept trying to sort all this out for it to make sense.
As for the characters, they are flat, which was not helping me like them more. I was surprised that Ty was a jerk, he didn't come off that way as a secondary character in book 1. I flat out hated him & almost quit the book over him alone. Mia, as his Omega, was slightly better than him, but not by much. I didn't like that there really wasn't a set guideline for the either the Alpha or the Omega in this series, to understand what is normal behavior. At this point, the story/plot feels a little bit too similar to book 1, except for Ty's attitude is less likable & more caveman.
I sort of hated this book, & kind of wish I had quit the book instead of finishing it. I felt it was not pulled together as a polished & finished book. I was curious to see where Sampson's story in the next book is going to go, so will pick up the next, hoping it's better than this book.
This amazing story that was very imaginative and intriguing was a great read. I like that it was definitely compelling and intriguing that the characters were interesting enough to hold the reader's attention. This unbelievably imaginative fantasy about alphas and their mates will be a great series.
I wasn’t a fan of this one. I think it’s bc I found Mia really annoying. I get the heroine had her issues but I felt like she was being a little selfish and not seeing the bigger picture. Was not a fan of the tension.
Super smexy quick and easy read. Enjoying the series storyline and all the characters so far. Great books to binge or use as palette cleanses between heavier reads. Definitely recommend!
If you want a short story with hot Alphas then read this series now! Each story features a new Alpha and how his Omega ends up in the Boundarylands.
Each story can be read as a standalone but I would recommend reading them in order because you get to know the other Alphas before they meet there mate.
Ty is a pretty shitty person, I guess I should’ve thought it was on par for the course but he pissed me off. In Ransom, Gretchen had claimed that every beta girl knew to avoid alphas but here, the FMC Mia basically let herself get touched, and not for a good storyline reason. I guess her anxiety of the situation was too much?
Well, tough luck, because Ty’s not going to let her back home once she becomes his omega. Everything’s on his terms and she has to sacrifice every goal she has for him while he gives up nothing. He’s rude and snappy, and when Mia tries to point his good characteristics they’re nothing to make up for his horrible ones. Hell, even when Mia tells him he’s not a monster Ty is shocked, since he’s both sure he is and is apparently unwilling to change any of his behavior
Also...Ty goes threatening FMC’s ex in front of the FBI and the FBI is like "lol whatever." This despite the fact the FBI is staffed by betas who prob hate alphas.
And it's like Mia is drugged to like him through the bond and she doesn’t actually like him. It’s understandable, because Ty isn’t a great person and there’s not much room in terms of character development, but it's frustrating for a romance. Her standards are literally if a man would hit her or not. They make a big deal that her choice is to stay with him. But at this point, all her other choices have been exhausted, and she’s not exactly choosing freely in the unfortunate mess of her hormones.
I don’t really like books like this one, actually, where the FMC has a sucky life and the poor substitute the uncaring MMC offers is marginally better for her happiness. I always think that it’s really up to chance that her life was somehow worse before and that the FMC could do better. I found myself wishing that Mia could quietly head back to UC Berkeley and somehow move on from all her past experiences with her own drive. People read romances for the happily ever after, but I don't think Mia really got one.
My gut reaction when rating books I don’t like is to give two stars, but that’s what I gave Ransom, written by the same writer and is a much less aggravating book. So 1 star.
I ENJOYED THIS ONE. I DIDN'T WITH KIAN...THERE WAS A LACK OF SOMETHING THERE BUT HERE, THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN TY & MIA JUST GRIPPED ME BY MY IMAGINARY NUTS AND TUGGED ME ALONG FOR THE RIDE.
Compared to other Omegaverse stories, this one was rather lacking in intensity but I still enjoyed the whole ALPHA MALE and SUBMISSIVE OMEGA troupe.
Okay, so basically MIA got abandoned by high as a kite frat (ex)boyfriend and his jealous, resentful best friend in the alpha lands - Boundarylands. With a busted knee and bruises to count for it, she wanders the forest until coming across Evander's and that's where she bumps into Ty who was just closing for the night. He assumed her to be one of the prostitutes that often hang out around but SURPRISE SURPRISE, it's an Omega. Thing pretty much went hot and heavy from there, not that I'm complaining before they played 20 questions. MIA's from a political family, and let's just say she and Daddy aren't tight but as a Senator who is obsesses with his poll ratings, Daddy will be playing the villain who wants his daughter back DEAD OR ALIVE. Ty will play the knight in the rustic armor who will protect his mate no matter what, even if she hated him for it.
OVERALL I guess it was emotionally intense but physically? The sex was pretty much not as what can be expected from an Omegaverse story, which should be graphic. AND I was quite disappointed we didn't get to experience Mia's first heat in detail, it was mostly closed curtains. Well, I just hope the next installment will be even better, and more detailed!!
I really miss the caring aspect of an Alpha-Omega relationship and the total devotion. The first two books are quite similar in plot, but the MMC is so uncaring in this one. He makes her breakfast once and she swoons, but when she got to him she cracked her knee cap and was hurt. But instead of caring about that and her refusal to wanting to do anything sexual he eats her out upside down. Later on she even falls to her knees, they also have sex and there is just no pain? He is angry that she does not choose to bite him and solves the problem by threatening her with killing two of her old "friends". What the fuck. In the first book the heroine got convinced by "emotional manipulation" as the character Paige says it in this book. The MMC is portrayed like someone you would not want as your mate: he doesn't care about her injuries, what she is afraid of, that he ripped her only dress and she doesn't have any shoes or anything really, he never smiles or makes her happy with anything! The sex scenes are also quite unremarkable.

Ty and Mia are an interesting couple. She has to overcome her fears of not being able to make her own choices before they can become a true mated pair.
Good writing, but REALLY needs an editor, proof reader or ARC group as there are quite a few places with misplaced, redundant or not needed words. Would be 4 stars if not for those errors as they detract from the overall enjoyment. However there are not so many as to warrant a lower rating.
I think Ms Rhodes is a good writer and is keeping me interested. Minor details though sometimes make the difference between a GOOD writer and a GREAT one.
I thoroughly enjoyed the story but there were so many errors i had to go back over and over to re-read lines. This has at least 50 editing issues that's being generous. Extra words in sentences, words that should be swapped around, saying her instead of his, things like that. It was so bad I took two stars. I wouldn't have done that if it wasn't a horrible problem. I gave the 3stars because I did love the story. It just bothered me so much.
Again short and fast paced like the previous book in this series. We are still left with not a whole lot of information about the society. Especially with the main character of this book having a political family member, you would think that we would get some more details. There were a couple of spots where proofreading didn’t catch some errors. It was off putting but manageable.
Overall I feel like this has great potential, it’s just a little lacking.
These stories are always so short! I feel like you connect with a character then they are over. Mia, to me, can become annoying at times, but Ty is insanely frustrating so maybe it comes with the territory. I feel like he could have easily addressed the conflict in the story without it escalating the way it did. Then of course the story would be even shorter. It just didn't fall in the believable category for me, but I thought the writing was good.
This wasn't as put together as Kain. The editing was definitely worse. Numerous times Rendell was changed to Russell and beta was used instead of omega. These sorts of slips are particularly jarring and took me out of the story. I'll be skipping Samsons story as I personally don't care for beta alpha pairings but I'm looking forward to Maddox.
Mehhh. First book didn't impress me and this one didn't either. I've read too many Omegaverse books to find this interesting. It has lots of potential but the execution just doesn't come together the way I would imagine, I guess. Maybe I'm jaded from being a serial reader but this just didn't keep my interest. It was a struggle to finish.
Las ganas de meterme en el libro y zamparle un golpe en la cabeza a Ty fueron infinitas, dios mio, pero todo salió bien aunque si pudiera, le daria el golpe al alfa. 😋

I have to get this off my chest. I've seen a lot of down rating on these books for stupid reasons. This again is where you have to remember that these aren't your average humans that are getting involved in this series for those who are down rating the book because its unrealistic. Its an omegaverse with Alphas and Omegas in it. Please keep that in mind when reading these books. Do your research learn what you are getting yourself into then make a decision based on that. Don't judge this book because you had no idea what an omegaverse was. Ty was a great read. While Ty himself was difficult to like despite getting some cameo with him in the first installment wasn't really enough to build his background which I wish the author had explored more We are getting into the meat of the series now, it would have been nice to get some personal exploration of our heroes at this point. I want more information on the Boundarylands. I want more exploration of the world they're living in. We have the Alpha's "reservation" as it were and we know there are more than one, we know what it looks like and how different they are from the cities for the betas, but I want more background development. How they came to be, how it was decided they would live there. We get a clue about Alphas having to run away once they find out what they are and that they're drawn to the wilderness, but we don't get much more than that. I'm hoping for more in the next installment which I will be reading as I am drawn in and totally interested.

🌷 Overall rating: 2.75⭐️ I like that in this omergaverse, the omega must first choose to place a mating claim on the alpha before she can be claimed. It gives them some power and prevents forced matings.
I liked Kian. And the FMC grew on me like mould. I quite liked their story. And enjoyed that the author didn’t try to make it longer with unnecessary filler and repetitions.
⚠️ Trigger Warnings ⚠️ Descriptive killing of bad guys - neck snapping and repeated blows to the chest until death.
I didn’t like when Ty tried to force her to claim him by threatening her so-called friends (though I understood it given the circumstances). But then I didn’t get why she cared for them or kept trying to protect them anyway given what they did to her. But then she was ok with her father being killed right in front of her. I think I simply didn’t like the FMC. I don’t think her age was mentioned but she was in Uni and therefore an adult but she read like a 16-18 year old in some places. And Ty.. sigh. Let’s just say I preferred the first book in the series. I will read the next book in the series because I like this Omegaverse and I am curious about Samson and Maddox. I already think that I like Maddox.
