Ruby Gardner plays the organ with gusto, but only in the privacy of her own home with family around. When the handsome schoolteacher and fiddler moved to town, Ruby fell in love with him, and his music. Now, nearly two years later, the aloof fiddler still doesn’t know she exists. There’s only one thing that Nathan Banks loves more than teaching children, and that’s playing fiddle at the Saturday night dances, accompanied by Mr. Jones, the town organist. But some tragedy or heartache in Nathan’s past torments him when he fiddles, and he’s gained a reputation as the stone-faced fiddler. One Saturday night, when the organist doesn’t show, Ruby volunteers to accompany Nathan at the dance. Will Ruby and her fast-paced music entice that stone-faced fiddler to smile and help him to love and laugh again? Ruby’s Rhapsody is a story of music, friendship, and the possibility of something far greater. Author's This is a sweet historical western romance with no cliffhangers.

A charming, clean historical romance of days gone by. Lovely characters that one can easily identify with. I just love to read about young love blooming and to escape into the story to be a part of their lives, hopes and dreams.
When .Nathan the new schoolteacher came to town, he also brought his fiddler. The weekly Saturday night dances with music and everyone turns out. A night without an organ and Ruby is asked to play. Nathan is skeptical, he only knows one speed when he is playing at that is fast. The love of music, can there be a love for the unsmiling Nathan and Ruby. A nice clean story of love coming to two who love music.
In this sweet clean romance Nathan Banks comes to realize that God ties away something good he has something even better to put in It's place. He's been bitter with God and nursing a broken heart for two years until circumstances lead t get to know the Gardner family and his broken heart finally heals.
I enjoyed this romance with its characters dealing with disappointment in love, one past, one present. The heroine is part of a family who regularly appear in this series. A fun read.
I really loved reading this book! I loved the characters and the plot! I had a hard time putting this wonderful book down! I will be reading the next book in this wonderful series!
This is a new author to me and I really enjoyed this story. I will be reading more from her. This was a sweet, clean historical romance that had great characters and a different story line from what I have ever read so that made it a good story of a family who's father is a surveyor in Colorado who is helping establish roads and via ducts in town to help make it better. He has a passel of children, all daughters and one son and the son helps his father. Ruby the now oldest at home plays the organ and can play really well. The town's teacher is a fiddle player and one with a sad past he doesn't want to move past. Ruby and the teacher end up playing at town dances when the other organ player in town gets ill and can't play, leaving the fiddle player alone do play at the dances. Ruby steps in and the two of them make beautiful music together. He plays very rapidly like no other fiddler they have ever seen and the man can't smile and even enjoy his playing for the dances as he puts all the sadness and problems from his past into the music. Ruby has to try to keep up with him and she does so very well and he is very impresses. Can she bring out any smiles in this man and can they even possibly have a future together? I highly recommend this author and this story. I think you will be please by this new author.
Such a great book with many wonderful characters. This was a clean romance with a wonderful plot. I enjoyed reading about the music and dancing. The closeness of Ruby’s family and the fun they shared was heart lifting. The relationship between Nathan and Ruby kept me engaged in the story. Really enjoyed this book! Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
Ruby Gardner loves to play the organ. She is asked to substitute for the communities normal organist, Mr. Jenkins, her music teacher. When she plays with the violinist Nathan Banks for the Saturday dance, it bothers Ruby that he doesn't ever smile while he play.
Life takes many twists and turns in the lives of Ruby and the school teacher in this page turner. Most of us face difficulties in our lives .... this book offers ways to recover while romance builds. You enjoy this void for lots of reasons.
Clean historical novel. Enjoyed the descriptive words about the Idaho countryside. Interesting concept about the fiddler who doesn't smile and the organist who takes on the challenge to get him to change his mind
Books like this one are just what I was searching for! It's very hard to find a good clean read anymore and this one was a bit with me. I look forward to reading more in this series to see how the rest of the girls make out with their lives.
