Where did Lisa go for so long and why did she betray her friends? All questions will be answered in this exciting spin-off in the Paranormal World Series.

Lisa Xu was just on the cusp of becoming a major style influencer when the supernatural apocalypse came and changed her life forever. Becoming a fairy and learning she’s a part of a special Six meant to save the world is so not what she signed up for. After losing yet another loved one to the chaos of the new world, Lisa takes an offer from an old friend to finally visit the Fae Realm as an escape. However, there is more to this land than the marbled streets and sprinkled treats she was anticipating.

Now Lisa must fight off a dark presence on her trail and make a decision that could devastate her life and those she left behind in the Human Realm. Top that off with a handsome Elven King out to woo her for sinister reasons and Lisa’s dream vacation has become more of a nightmare. This hairdresser from Jersey is so not cut out for this new world but she’s going to have to step up if she plans to survive.

Author's note: The first four books and two novellas of this New Adult series are part of The Soulmate Saga. There will be some cliffhangers.

In the first novella of the Paranormal World series, we learn about Lisa. Lisa, who is one of the Six who are destined to save the world from the evil first mated pair. Lisa, who is possibly the one weak link in the group that will change the destiny of all the others.

Lisa gets kidnapped by the Fae to the Faerie world where she learns what's really going on with the first mated pair, and the evil Fae behind them giving them all the help they need to win their place as the destined pair. And learning this means Lisa has to make some very difficult decisions, decisions that will change the lives of her friends, not to mention hers.

For a novella, CC Solomon packed a lot of action, romance, danger and knowledge in so we learn quite a bit through this addition to the Paranormal World series. It's a definite need to read to understand all that happened while Lisa was gone, and why she was treated as she was when she came back. A great deal of insight is given here, so I advise reading this one as a definite, necessary part of the series as a whole.

Great job, Catherine! Great job indeed! I loved this short insight into one of our main characters, and I hope to see more novellas about the other characters. It would be fun to learn all about all of them.

I was given this as an advanced review copy for an honest review, and give this in my own words and of my own volition.

I have got to stop jumping into this world part way through. This book stands mostly okay as a stand-alone story in terms of Lisa’s experiences. But there’s a lot of past events that are referred to, and there’s a bunch of emotional baggage at play here, that I didn’t completely understand due to my not having read the previous books in the Paranormal World series. However, I’m fascinated by Lisa, the fairy magic of this world, and the powers of The Six. I’ve read some from farther forward in this series, so I’ve heard a few of the rumors about the Elven King. I’m excited to have gotten a chance to see the truth of their start. And I’m still a little rabid to read the rest of the series so I can find out what got them here and what’s going to happen next.

I wasn't entirely sure what to expect from this book. I was quite interested in reading the first book in the new series by this author, but this book was actually supposed to be some sort of prequel to that book. However, I see that this book is also book 2,5 in another series and I think that explains quite a lot. So, I just started reading this book, preparing for the arc of the other book, to get a feel for the world and to get a feel for the characters.

Since I didn't read the other two books in the series, there were a few things quite confusing. I'm pretty sure the mythology that wasn't entirely clear was most likely explained in the first two books of the series. Despite the fact that not all details of the mythology were clear, I had also no issues really following the conflict and the gist of the series. I'm sure I would have loved the book even more if I understood everything, but it still kinda worked.

What I liked about this world and the characters in it is the grayness of everything. It's quite clear that this world is not entirely black and white. It's not clear who the good guys are and who the bad guys are. The good guys do things that cross lines. The bad guys sometimes do nice and good things. And I'm therefore quite excited about reading more stories set in this world. I might also be adding the first two books in this series to my wishlist.

One of the reasons I'm even more excited about the first book in the new series, is the characters and their interesting dynamic and positions on the board. I really love those stories where two people actually fight on opposite sides and then discover that maybe they might like each other a little more than they should. The premise of the new series is also quite clearly introduced and I can't wait to see how it's gonna play out.

Lisa was on her way to becoming a Style influencer, climbing the charts, had lots of followers, and really getting her message out there. Not long after, a virus attacks the whole world and causes the infected to become a supernatural being or not make it. Lisa was one of the lucky ones. She was reborn as a fairy/fae. She learns that she's one of "The Six"(the six who will save the world). And from here, her journey begins.

This was such a cute and start to this series. I have never read an apocalypse story like this one. I feel it's very unique, fabulous world building. I felt it was a bit rushed and felt like it was scene jumping really fast. However, it was still a wonderful novella and definitely a world I can escape to. I would definitely love to see what happens next!

Mystic Realms is A Paranormal World Novella and gives us a background story on Lisa Xu, one of the Six. I really enjoyed learning more about Lisa and would love to know more about the others. The storyline is well written and has action, danger, supernatural entities, and some romance. This book kept me engaged from beginning to end and then left me with a cliffhanger. I cannot wait for the next book in this exciting series.

I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.

This novella is part of the Paranormal Lands series and the main character is Lisa Xu, who before the paranormal apocalypse changed the world forever, was on her way to becoming a style influencer and stylist. Now she is apparently one of The Six, a group who exist to do good in the world and help the Soulmates save the world. The Six are Lisa, witch siblings Charles and Amina Langston, werewolf Erik Bennet, succubus Faith Thomas and Felix Gonzalez, whose magic is a bit mysterious and hard to label. Lisa is now a fairy and in a relationship with Charles. Until she met the rest of The Six, Lisa had spent years on the run, losing all of her family members along the way, as fairy blood was sought after by many paranormals. When Charles is killed in an attack, Lisa is bereft and quite happy to meet fellow fairy Bella, who invites her back to the land of the Fae for a break and to meet the Fae Queen of the Seelie, Arwa. What she doesn’t know, is that time in the Fae realm runs at a much slower rate than back in the human world. She thought she would only be away for two weeks and ends up away for over two months.
While in the Fae realm, she is taught how to access parts of her magic and also learns that Charles was saved in a way. A seer foresaw that one of The Six would be killed and they were all given a potion on the sly, to ensure they didn’t die. Charles won’t be the same after he was killed, but will be able to exist now as a vampire! The Unseelie Queen Misandre wants all humans dead and has aligned herself and some allies with the Original Soulmates, who have been turned dark. One of those allies is Elven King Joo-won, who is taken by Lisa, as she reminds him of his former wife, who died ages ago through old age, as a human. He had to leave his wife before she died, as he wasn’t aging and it broke his heart. He had sworn never to love another! He is a neutral race, but has aligned himself with Misandre, believing as she does, that the Original Soulmates will win. When she finds out that one of The Six is in the Fae realm, she wants them killed, but Joo-won asks for three weeks to woe her and turn her to their side. But she is very impatient and prefers to use violence and torture to get her way!
Bella and Queen Arwa have their own plan for Lisa, but that would mean turning against all of her friends in The Six, betraying their trust and making them hate her. The Original Soulmates can’t return whilst there is another new set of Soulmates, in Amina and Phillip, and only one pair can exist at full strength at any one time. The only issue stopping the new Soulmates gaining power is the fact they haven’t bonded yet. Queen Arwa and Bella want Lisa to secret the pair away somewhere in secret, leaving them somewhere safe until they have bonded and gain their full powers. The only problem is the rest of The Six aren’t happy with her and since she has sent Erik’s fated mate Amina away from him, he is mad enough to kill her! Fortunately, she cannot tell him as her memories were wiped, but even when the time comes to bring them back, it seems someone with dark magic has interfered with her mind and caused her even more of a problem. Life has taken an even more drastic twist and still so much more to be discovered and revealed. The Soulmate Saga begins this adventure and new world experience and is possibly good to read, so you can learn about the Soulmates and The Six, but you can do without if you concentrate on the characters themselves and what is going on at the moment. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Lisa Xu was ready to take the world of fashion by storm. Unfortunately for her a storm came & with it the return of magic & the paranormal to Earth.

Once a hairdresser, Lisa is now a fairy on the run. He father died of the Sickness & her mother & brother became Fae like her. But they died last long & she ground herself alone. Lisa sets out to find a place to settle & finds allies & friends along the way.

What happens when Lisa is taken to the Fae realm? This book is a blast & I can't wait to read more!

A brilliant novella in the Paranormal World series. Fairy Lisa is part of the Six (Like a Supernatural Avengers force that helps the peace in a way) and shes indebted to The Elven King - Joo-won. Only their relationship is much more complicated. These two certainly steamed up my kindle with their flirtatious dance around each other that they had going on. Especially Joo-won who had the sexy banter thats for sure. Still this was a story full of action-packed, fast-paced content with characters i really liked. A great read

This was a quick but great read. Solomon has a magical ability to create worlds and characters that are just enchanting! Lisa is a wonderful and relatable character. You feel for her pain as you ride her emotional rollercoaster throughout the story. It helps if you have read the previous 2 books in the series to understand completely the trials and tribulations Lisa has faced thus far, but this book can be considered as a standalone.

This was listed as a prequel to another book that I am just about to read. However it does look like there could be an overlapping story from a previous series. This was a well written story that not only makes me want to read the next book but go back and read previous books by this author. Looks like a good mix of fantasy/action/romance lies ahead!
