Nikolas “Rezso” Rezansov fled Los Angeles with his mother Alice years ago and has only returned after being summoned by his werewolf foster brother, who needs his help protecting a witch who survived an attack by a serial killer.
The killer appears to be connected to Rezso’s father and his gang of Russian shapeshifters—byks—whose inner animals are monstrous, Minotaur-like bulls. Rezso no longer has the ability to shift—his cousin Grisha made sure of that—but he is not without his skills. Prepared to die to keep the witch alive, Rezso risks everything to confront his father on his home turf and save the woman he has come to love.
This book is a novella. It takes place in the "L.A. Nocturne world but it is a stand-alone story; it's not necessary to have read the first book in the series, Misbegotten."
This story takes place some months after the events of Misbegotten, in a version of Los Angeles where the normal and the paranormal exist.
Note: Unlike the other L.A. Nocturne books, which are rated PG-13, Rezso is an R for frank language and sexual situations. It’s not suitable for readers under 18.
Kat Parrish is a former reporter who prefers making things up! An Army brat, her motto is "Have passport, will travel." She has lived in seven states and two foreign countries and would love to celebrate her 100th birthday with a trip into space. She lives in the Pacific Northwest near a haunted cemetery.
"I am the useless son of a monster, a thing of pain and rage. I will hurt you if you get too close." - Rezso
Rezso, a flawed supernatural that owes fealty to the werewolves of L.A. If it hadn't been for them, Rezso would have died after his cousin tried to drown him in the pool. Enemies for life, Rezso did his best to avoid Grisha... That is, until Mickey called in a favor...
"I’d been hired to keep Fee safe and I was going to do that. Or die trying." - Rezso
Rezso finds himself in a simmering stew of greed, danger, and desire. Witches were being killed, and it was up to Rezso to protect Fee, the only survivor of the deadly attacks. If only Fee wasn't so... Intriguing.... Stunningly beautiful... A witch...
Holy buckets, what a ride! Fast and furious, taking no prisoners! Loved it!
This book has an interesting storyline to it, but I almost didn't get past the first page due to all of the punctuation editing that was so obviously missed. Some editing would be nice.
