Caught as a child in a situation beyond her control Britney struggles though her life to accept childhood traumas, preteen binge eating, teenage bulimia, teen pregnancy, a young marriage, lies, betrayals, heavy drinking, destruction, and finally a moment that defines her life when she hits a wall and she has to make a choice. Will she stop drinking or will she die? Will she pursue medical treatments for a chronic illness or live a life of misery, will she divorce a narcissistic man, or will she continue to suffer, and finally will she pursue love and allow herself to be loved in ways she has only read about or will she destroy everything?
I read the whole book in one sitting on a plane. I cannot imagine going through what the main character went through and coming out alive, let alone with the hope for the future that she has. A great read that shows you how strong people can be. “You are not weak because you fall down, you are strong because you get back up”
