Jim Cartwright is nearing the end of his quest to learn more about the 20,000-year-old war machines known as Raknar, although he hasn’t found any of the technical manuals or manufacturing secrets he’d hoped for. Truth be told, he’s found very little of use.

One more stop on the way back to his Cavaliers is on the agenda…but it might be his last. Earlier on his trip, Jim stopped on a world where thousands of Raknar and Canavar fought. There he managed to make an enemy and draw attention to himself he didn’t want.

He’s gone from being the hunter to being the prey.

On a lonely world in a backwater star system, he’ll have to fight for his life against an enemy he never expected. He’ll also find a mysterious ally from his distant past—one long forgotten—who might one day play a huge part in his future. The quest comes to an end in this final chapter of Jim Cartwright at Large.

Excellent as always!

Sadly I heard that this is the last of the series. :( Maybe we can prevail on Mark to write some more. I hope so.

More Cartwright!

Nice addition to background on Jim’s family, and his hunt for more information on the Raknar. A few new threads started in this story, no previous threads closed.

Just too darn short

Well written but it's just too darn short. I wanted more. Not sure what it added to my understanding of Jim's search.
