Shadow of the Dominion #1

Longshot Hypothesis

Rate this book

Valentinian just wants to make a living hauling cargo between planets and stations. His new charter promises to be profitable, hauling an all-girl-band all over the Dominion. But trouble starts before they take off, and Valentinian has just hired a crewman with a shadowy past, big muscles, and the sort of military training that only the Dominator’s Elite Assault Cavalry wields.

What else could possibly go wrong?

Longshot—the first novel in the new series, Shadow of the Dominion, is a fresh take on space merchants, space marines, and oh, yeah, hired muscle.

Be sure to be on the look-out for the other books in this series!

A bit short but quite fun. I caught a lot of references to Star Wars that were clearly inserted as Easter eggs or homages. The main character is similar to a young Han Solo for that matter. This is the first book of a new series.

Perfect, perfection.

Great fight scenes with excellent dialog. Glaze Ward has flow. Found a few mistakes, that didn't mess with my enjoyment. I am on to the 2nd in this series and will go on and explore his other works.

Entertaining read

A great start to a new series. The only problem I have with this book is that it’s too short. I just have to hope that the wait won’t be long for the next title.

great action story

Nice story, lots of world building without pages of exposition. Multi viewpoints allows you to see character motivations. Like when people work together for their own reasons, some of which are greedy / selfish. Fun to see the characters assign their own motivations to others and be surprised to find they do not all act the same.

A great space adventure

A great space adventure novel, written very well, with action, mistery, well crafted characters and quite a bit of potential for a sequel.
