THE TROUBLE WITH YOU
an enemies-to-lovers story

Just one more year of her cruel step-brother Jason; and his cocky, arrogant, football-playing friends.
She hates them. Especially, Cameron Chase, the guy she thought was different.

Cameron Chase has the world at his feet.

He has it all; good looks, talent, and the charm to go with it.
He has colleges lined up at the door, all wanting a piece of Rixon Raiders star wide receiver.
Until something threatens everything he's ever worked for, and only one person can quiet the war raging inside him.
But he's supposed to hate her; his best friend's sister.

She's off-limits.
Untouchable.
She's trouble with a capital T.

Then Hailee finds herself in the middle of a football prank gone wrong...

And suddenly hating each other never felt so good.

THE GAME YOU PLAY
a hate-to-love story

Felicity Giles has a list.

Lose her virginity.
Meet her knight-in-shining-armor and fall in love.
Have the best senior year a girl can have.
The only problem? Her knight isn’t a saint, he’s a villain, and she’s pretty sure he’ll destroy her before ever handing over a piece of his heart.

Jason Ford has a plan.

Win State and go down as one of the most successful Quarterbacks in Rixon Raider history.
Head off to college and pursue his dream of being drafted to the NFL.
Avoid the girl under his skin. Felicity Giles, his stepsister’s best friend and perpetual pain in his ass.

She’s annoying as hell.
Quirky.
She’s a game to him, nothing more.

Until his arch rival comes after him and the few people he cares about ... and Felicity gets caught in the crossfire.

And suddenly hating her feels a whole lot like falling in love.

~

THE HARDER YOU FALL
a friends-to-lovers story

Mya Hernandez has scars.

The kind that run deep and leave marks.
Rixon is only supposed to be a temporary place to hide, but it's quickly becoming something more.
She's almost certain it has nothing to do with the blond-haired, blue-eyed football player who makes her laugh. Who makes her believe in fairy tales again.
Even if she knows her life is destined to be nothing more than a tragedy.

Asher Bennet has secrets.

Not the scandalous kind, but the ones that fester, slowly eating away at your soul.
On the face of it, he's Mr Popular, always down for a party and causing a little mayhem.
But on the inside, he just wants someone to see him. Really see him. Too bad the one girl who sees past his facade has already friend-zoned him.
It's probably for the best though.

She's different.
A fighter.
She's everything he wants but can never have.

Until Mya's past and Asher's present collide in ways neither of them saw coming.

And suddenly the thing you need most is the very thing you’re supposed to hate.

Audiobook trilogy.

Each couple offer something different and every story was absolutely fantastic. I’ve enjoyed this collection from beginning to end and it’s narrated really well.

BOOK ONE

The trouble with you is Hailee and Cameron’s story. Hailee’s step brother is what stands in their way but there chemical reactions to each other means sparkles will fly.

It’s senior year and it’s time to figure out what’s more important. Cameron has always been all about football but this year distracts are going to prove life isn’t always planned out from the beginning of the game.

Hailee doesn’t want Cameron. In fact she wants to find a nice boyfriend who will treat her well. The problem is her step-brother. It doesn’t matter if she tries to stay out of his way, his life seems to overshadow hers.

This gave me a range of emotions and I enjoyed every minute of it. Cam and Hails were perfect together.

BOOK TWO

Jason Ford is a star on the football field but he tries to keep his heart locked away. He wants to focus on his career.

Felicity Giles plays it safe. It’s her final year in high school and she’s made a bucket list. Jason Ford shouldn’t be on her radar but the heart wants what it wants. These two are about to start a love/hate affair.

Can the guy who doesn’t let anyone in let his guard down? Can the girl who follows the rules learn to live a little?

BOOK THREE

I’ve loved this series so hard.

Asher is the fun loving party guy who seems to have it all, but looks can be deceiving. His dad controls their family. His word is final.

When Asher falls for Mya he doesn’t know what the consequences will be. For better or worse, the hard you fall is a rocky ride. It tackles some deep issues and the party boy act is about to blow up.

This was really good. I liked both the romance and the supporting story. Asher is an easy guy to love.

Mya is from a poor background and to escape her troubles she moves in with her auntie. She’s done with boys but Asher isn’t just any boy.

Can love conquer all?

Rixon Raiders: Special Edition Collection
currently on sale (4/4/21) for $2.99
⊱⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊰

The special edition includes: the WHOLE RIXON RAIDERS series + bonus content.

I previously read the other books in the series and am just doing a short recap on these books. My review is more focused on the bonus content. Books #1-3 are set in high school, whereas The Endgame Is You (#4) and The Future You Make (#5) are set in college and beyond.

#1: Trouble with You // Cam + Hailee
Tropes: enemies-to-lovers & brother's best friend

#2: The Game You Play // Jason + Felicity
Tropes: possessive alphahole hero + dorky innocent heroine & hate to love relationship

#3: The Harder You Fall // Asher + Mya
Tropes: friends-to-lovers & MC from the wrong side of the tracks

#4: The Endgame Is You: Series Epilogue // ✦ everyone ✦
— Set in college & foreshadows to the next generation

#5: The Future You Make: BONUS CONTENT // new to readers focused on ✦ everyone ✦
— Includes Jason + Felicity's wedding; Jason & Felicity's weekend getaway; Cam, Avery, & Hailee's first Christmas as a family; and Mya & Asher's surprise baby

Jason + Felicity

My favorites were thriving in the bonus content! I feel like such a proud parent in this moment to see that they were doing so well and squashing any remaining insecurities they had about the relationship.

Jason & Felicity's weekend getaway: That easter egg put in the story with who's cabin it was. I loved how Jason didn't want to think they were dangerous but right away Felicity had a feeling they were mafia. If you enjoyed Verona Legacy by L.A. Cotton, you'll love the little easter egg she added in this bonus content.I

Jason playing for the Philadelphia Eagles: Usually, Philly and well PA as a whole is rarely a place characters travel to/live in. You can look up in any Google search and it'll portray Philly sports teams negatively due to their fan base, so seeing the Eagles be the team Jason is on, I was so excited. Always have love for my team. . . GO BIRRRDS! 💚💚💚

Lastly, can we take a moment to appreciate how excited Jason was to become a dad!?!

Overall: I truly loved this series and recommend you give it a try! The bonus content made my whole day and was very enjoyable to read. Although I loved the new content and thought it was grade-A quality, I am basing my rating on what I think of this series as a whole. // 5 stars ✰

THE TROUBLE WITH YOU – All Hailee wants to do is finish her senior year in high school and avoid her stepbrother Jase and the football team that he captains. Cameron is a member of the team and Jase’s best friend who has feelings for Hailee but still partakes in Jase’s attempts to make Hailee’s life difficult. As Cameron’s family life becomes difficult it is Hailee who sees beneath his persona to the man underneath but if a choice must be made will he choose Jase and his team or Hailee?

THE GAME YOU PLAY - Jase is the egotistical jerk who was only concerned about playing football so that he could get into college and launch his professional career. Flick is his stepsister’s best friend and she has been crushing on Jase even though she knew that being with him would only end in heartache. Jase doesn’t allow many people close but once he does he is all in and Flick is perfect for him as not only does she ground him but she challenges him as well.

THE HARDER YOU FALL - Asher is man with hidden depths as he appears like he doesn’t have a care in the world but in reality, that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Mya has recently relocated to Rixon not by choice but by necessity. She may have been accepted by Asher and his crew but to everyone else she is an outcast who would never be good enough for Asher. She is determined that friends is all they will ever be but Asher is more than up to the challenge.

It is great to have the entire series in one collection.

Los protagonistas no tienen química y sus diálogos son forzados, lo que hizo que fuera difícil conectar con ellos. Demasiado drama innecesario para mí. La constante ignorancia de los personajes no fue divertida.

STORY:
A little disappointed with a few things, and I liked other things. This book was 400+ pages, I just don’t understand how Cameron and Hailee spent so much time apart. I felt so overly stimulated by the teasers of will they won’t they that it became frustrating. Yes, there were obstacles preventing them from being together, but it took too long. I personally felt a lot of time was spent with them individually with looks from afar, and that’s no good for me. Let’s see how book 2 will go because I didn’t get closure on a few things. Also, I like when secondary characters are deeply involved, however, sometimes this story felt like it was Jason’s story. So much time was spent focused on him. I won’t even lie, I wanted to hurry and finish this book because I was becoming more interested with the teasers of what’s going on between Jason and Felicity.

What I liked about the book, I love the storytelling of the whole book. I also like the storyline for Cameron with his family issues. The sports and rivalry aspect made you feel included in the games. I did not only get sports theme, but brother’s best friend with enemies to lovers.

SEXUAL CHEMISTRY:
Sex scenes were good, but weren’t enough. I wanted a little more.

SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
Asher, loved him, and he makes me laugh. Jason, yeah, a real grump, that one and hardcore football player. I am very much interested in his story, though. Felicity, Hailee’s best friend, too cute.

OVERALL:
There a certain storylines that tugs at the heart and I like that. However, I was not please with the pace of the character's progress or the closure of certain things. This did not turn me off from book 2 and plan on getting into that next.

TRIGGERS: roofie drink and violation while drinking.

STORY:
Book 2 for me was better than book 1. I was really into Felicity’s and Jason’s connection since book 1, and I don’t think they disappointed me. Jason’s take charge, demanding attitude and do you know who I am bravado balances out Felicity’s corky and the girl nobody notices persona. The storyline continues from book 1 with the rivalry with the Eagles. The story also plays out the relationship between Jason and his dad, along with no resolution to Hailee’s mom. For me, what I enjoyed the most was the high and low communication between Jason and Felicity. When it was good it was good and when it was bad it was bad, and that’s all because of Jason’s stubbornness. This made it a good read for me.

There were a few moments between Felicity and Jason in Cameron’s and Hailee’s story that I thought would be explained, but it wasn’t. The night of the party, when Hailee woke up to the sound of Felicity crying because Jason did something, I still don’t know what happened.

SEXUAL CHEMISTRY:
I enjoyed their sexual chemistry and sex scenes a little bit more than Cameron’s and Hailee’s. Jason’s intensity does the trick so I was satisfied. I will say though, I felt cheated in the beginning because Felicity was a virgin and that moment was glazed over. Silly, I know, but I need to be a part of that moment.

SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
It was great seeing Cameron and Hailee and Asher and Maya. This is a group of best friends, so I love that they all still have important roles in each book. I am looking forward to Asher’s and Maya’s story. I have to say, it doesn’t sound appealing, but I want to see it through.

OVERALL:
I like book 2 and found their story more appealing to my liking.

STORY:
I enjoy the storytelling of the author for all 3 books and the way she always kept all couples involve in each other’s story. With that being said, I like Asher’s and Maya’s story, I just wasn’t in love with it. Asher, Cameron and Jason are 3 different individuals, but I really enjoyed Jason’s because of his intensity. Asher seemed very tamed to me. That doesn’t mean I don’t like him because I do. I liked the way he treated Maya and stood up for her. I think I felt a little salty coming into Asher’s story because he felt like he had a little connection to Felicity, and it just looks like he went to what was left. Even when Maya transferred in book 2, their connection was as strong:

SEXUAL CHEMISTRY:
Sex scenes were satisfactory.

SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
I always enjoy seeing all 6 together. When they are together, their chemistry always makes you smile. Sorry the Rixon players doesn’t continue, not that I know of because I really like Grady.

OVERALL:
Not bad, likable, but also not great. I am debating reading The End Game is You. I am only maybe interested in seeing how Jason and Felicity works out.

TRIGGERS:

****I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read. I based my book reviews on my preferences and what I like, and while these preferences may not be the same for others, I hope this review was still helpful.

Trouble With You:
This was beyond amazing. I wasn't sure what to expect going into the story, I knew it was going to be an angst filled bully kind of read, but it blew all my expectations away.
It starts by Hailee and her step brother Jase having words and we find out all he has done to her over the years and we realize he just doesn't hate her, he despises her and lives to torture her. Jase is the football god, in a football town where he can do no wrong, he and his best friends (Cam and Ash) have spent years torturing Hailee but this is their senior year and things are a little different. When we first meet Cam I could tell even though he helped Hailee's step brother torment her there was something different about they way he did it. Cam was the guy you love to hate and hate to love because he just went along with whatever Hailee's step brother said and did, like a puppet. Cam's personal life is going all to crap so he starts to look at life differently, looks at Hailee differently, and even questions if football is his whole world any more. This is where Cam becomes the good villain, he thinks by still doing what Jase says yet doing it less extremely he is protecting Hailee. He soon realizes he doesn't want to be the puppet any more.
Hailee may have spent years enduring this torment from her step brother Jase and his goons but she is the heroine we all love because she doesn't runaway, she doesn't back down, no she plots and plans then gets revenge. She is strong, smart, independent, and knows her worth but all these pranks have kind of hardened her through the years but then Cam starts to show her his other side and she doesn't know what to think. The push and pull, the hate and love between Hailee and Cam is so hot and steamy I could not put the book down. Even the hate between Jase and Hailee becomes so intriguing I found myself wanting to see what happened next. This is my first book by this author and I absolutely loved it and can not wait to get more Rixon Raiders.
Game You Play:
I honestly thought Cameron would be hard to replace as my number Raider, but Jase has absolutely stomped all over him and demanded that number one spot. He starts out as a complete jerk who is horrible to mostly everyone even his friends at times, but he did care about them and somewhat Hailee now. Jase was completely goal driven and has his sights on accomplishing them all and nothing else matters or will get in his way. All he has ever known was football and becoming the best and doing the things his dad never got to do. I loved that he was hardworking and focused, but it did take away from his life and added so much pressure onto his shoulders, you could tell it was hard for him at times to be the golden boy all the time and never getting to just be himself. Felicity was a do gooder, always following her mom and dad’s plans for her future and never stepping out of line until her senior year and she starts to step out of her shell, then becomes attracted to Jase. Jase and Felicity have such an amazing chemistry and they love/hate each other at times but you just know they are perfect for each other. They had a lot of drama to overcome, Jase had to learn that sometimes it was ok not to be one hundred percent focused on football all the time and Fee had to learn that she should step up and start doing things and thinking for herself. There were moments that I absolutely wanted to smack the crap out of Jase, then moments I wanted to just hug him and tell him he didn’t need to put so much pressure on himself and love him. I was proud when Felicity started making decisions for herself and I loved that no matter what Jase had said or put her through she still couldn’t help but love him. Jase proved a million times over that no matter how much him and Fee fought or had issues he only ever always had her wellbeing in mind. This is a great somewhat bully read that these two characters will melt your heart and Jase will definitely demand to steal it.
Harder You Fall:
Omg I have been in love with Asher since book one and I knew that behind his humor and laid-back persona there held some issues that he just wasn’t letting anyone in on. He is this all-around perfect football god but the only person he lets into the real him for now is Mya. Mya is running from a rough neighborhood and a past she would love to forget about. She thought she had found love once before with her childhood friend, but that ended with her getting hurt emotionally and physically. So, when Asher wants more from Mya and her to be his she pushes him away time and time again. It isn’t until Asher has gotten to her that she realizes she is already falling for him and she doesn’t seem to mind. They both have to endure so much just to be together and they deal with the pressures of family and society that is hard on them, but they do endure it, until a tragedy occurs, and Mya’s past comes back to haunt her. Will they be able to make it through what society deems as right and the tragic events that caused their issues or will they let things tear them apart for good? I swear Asher is the perfect guy that I loved so much and I was happy that the other couples make a lot of appearances throughout this read and proving to us that family isn’t always blood but those who choose to stand by us in times of trouble.

This series is amazing!! Why I haven’t read it until now I do not know. I may have read the books out of order as they can be read as standalones but that didn’t spoil my enjoyment at all. Cameron, Jason and Asher may be the best of friends and play for the same football team but each of their stories are so different. L.A. Cotton is relatively new to me but has now become an author that I will read in future without hesitation.

The Trouble with You - 5 Stars

Wow!! L.A. Cotton has penned yet another fabulous novel. This best friend's sister/enemies to lovers’ story had me hooked from the very first chapter. Even though I had actually read the final book in the trilogy before this, my enjoyment was not spoiled at all.

Cameron and Hailee’s story is full of drama and angst. Cameron is your typical high school football star player. He’s got the world at his feet and a line of girls who would do anything for a moment with him. I love the relationship that he has with his two best friends, Jason and Asher, and it was fabulous to see the real Cameron emerge as the story progressed.

I adore Hailee - She’s strong, focused and caring. She has her mind set on finishing her final year at school with as little trouble as possible so she can move on in her life. However, fate has other plans for her. Hailee is Jason’s step-sister and he hates her. For the past six years, with the help of Cameron and Asher, he has played pranks on her and they haven’t always just been silly little ones either. Some of the pranks had me laughing along with the boys and Hailee but then there were other incidences when Hailee was caught in the crossfire between Jason and his rival enemy that had my heart breaking for her.

This story held my attention and kept me entertained throughout. I thought the author wrote this book brilliantly, so much that in certain scenes it felt as if I was actually there. As much as I disliked the actions of the characters at times, I just couldn’t help but grow to love them all. This first book in this series (for those reading in order) will have you delighted that the other books are available to read straight away. That’s where I am headed now, to read Jason's story which is titled The Game You Play.

The Game You Play - 5 stars

I’d already met Jason Ford in The Trouble with You which is the first book in the Rixon Raiders series and found that he had the personality you’d totally expect a star quarterback college player to have. However, I particularly disliked Jason because of the ‘games’ he was playing that involved his step-sister. What I didn’t expect by the end of this book was to have my opinion of Jason completely turned round and although I kept wavering between liking and disliking him throughout, once I learned more about him and I got to understand the reasons behind his actions I was totally team Jason in the end.

I absolutely love everything about Felicity. I loved the change that I saw in her as she embraced her final year of school. She’s an amazing friend to have and I loved her quirky ways.

I absolutely loved this book from beginning to end. I devoured it in one day, unable to put it down and I thought the author wrote it brilliantly. This is a definite must read!!

The Harder You Fall - 5 Stars

I’m going to hold my hand up and admit that I haven’t as yet read the first two books in this series. Did that spoil my enjoyment the reading The Harder You Fall? Absolutely not. I’m just kicking myself for not doing so and am now heading straight over to one-click those books to rectify this.

A adore Mya. I have watched her throughout the book, having to deal with situations that no teen should have to go through. It broke my heart many times witnessing this. She is the most amazing person and I just want to hug her. I wish that her life had been so different and pray that it is in future. I adore her strength and determination. Felicity and Hailee are so lucky to have her as their friend, as she is to have them.

Asher has stolen my heart. What an incredible young man he is. He doesn’t have it easy at all but this loveable joker is someone who you know will have your back when you need him to. As like Mya’s friendship group, I love seeing Jason, Cameron and Asher together - they are brothers in every sense except sharing the same genes.

I love the connection and chemistry between Mya and Asher. I could see that they were meant for each other from the very beginning but they have so many obstacles standing in their way. This book was a real page turner and I couldn’t see which way the story was going to go. The drama in some scenes had me on the edge of my seat, and I loved this.

I honestly did not want to put my kindle down when reading this book. I have felt every emotion possible and I have had to reach for the tissues a few times too. I would love to see where the group are in a few years’ time, to see if their dreams and wishes have come true, hopefully the author will pen another book in the series and update us one day. One thing I feel is that they all deserve to be happy, and I’m certain that with the attitude and determination they display they will achieve the success that they desire.

Three books in one. Rixon Raiders is about three best friends who attend the same school in a town where football is everything and Cameron, Jason, and Asher are looked at as football gods.

Each story centers around a different couple, but they are all interconnected and really should be read in order to make the most sense.

The first story, The Trouble With You, revolves around Cameron and Hailee. This is an enemies to lovers, with an underlying bully theme mixed in. Hailee and her stepbrother, Jason (who is the central focus in the next book) are both pig-headed and highly stubborn individuals. Living under the same roof, while Jason is the quarterback and basically can do no wrong makes Hailee's life miserable. Hailee's best friend pulls her out of her shell with the bucket list of things she wants to do before graduating, which forces them both into situations neither of them would have ever contemplated before senior year. This puts them both right in the path of the football players and forces both girls into some stressful situation.
Cameron is Jason's best friend and sides with him for most of the book, this makes liking Cameron sometimes hard to bear, but he does let his redeeming qualities come out, which does save him by the end of the story. I'd also say the same for Hailee, she is sometimes a little brash, but overall, her attitude is because of her living conditions. If she's too soft she'd crack. Cameron and Hailee really make each other better at the end of the day.

The second book - The Game You Play, which I'm going say I'm so glad the books are ordered this way. Jason is a tough guy to like, but once you get within his small circle, he's loyal and trustworthy until the very end. He is THAT guy you want on your side when stuff goes sideways, but he's very scary if he's not on your side. Anyway, with Jason's story in the middle, you got to see him as the crappy stepbrother to Hailee, you now get to know his story, and in the next book you will see another side and Jason will really worm his way into your heart.
Of the three, this one falls into the antihero category because Jason makes no qualm about being something he's not. He does not plan on being anyone's white knight no matter how much Felicity tugs at his black soul.
Felicity or Flick, or Fee. She has a lot of nicknames, is the total sunshine to Jason's dark and gloom attitude. She is one of the few people who really doesn't take his grumpiness, but she gives it right back to him. Her sassy attitude will make you smile, which you will need when Jason will make you kind of sad at times. She never wanted to fall for Jason, she just wanted to have some fun in her senior year. Unfortunately, every time she tries to go out and have a bit of fun, Mr. Grouchypants shows up and ends it, or does he actually begin it...whatever it is, they are fuel to each other's fire.
Given this is the second book, there is also lots of Cam and Hailee updates along with Asher and his lucky lady insights.

Speaking of that third couple, The Harder You Fall - is about Asher and Mya. While Asher is a terrible flirt, he's been watching his best friends fall and secretly wishing it was him. He is really a giant puppy seeking affection, a huge softie on the inside, who wears his emotions on his sleeve.
Of the three books, this is more of a coming of age, new adult romance where outside forces are working against them. All Asher wants is to fall in love, have someone love him unconditionally and begin his life. He craves affection so much, he's so heartbreakingly sweet.
Mya on the other hand, has grown up in a very rough neighborhood, and only recently moved out to Rixon to escape the awful situation she was living in. She is not used to the lifestyle Asher has grown up in, thinking money solves everything, when he's so desperately alone and would give anything to have a loving family.
While these two seem like complete opposites they share secrets with one another that no one in their lives have ever been privy to and as they grow closer their bubble of happiness is only broken as prejudice and social status tries to break it down. This is a book that is very current in today's society and and I really enjoyed their story.

There is more to come in an epilogue story, The End Game is You, how will these three couples survive their future going forward? They've already survived so much.

The Trouble with You is the first book in the Rixon Raiders series written by author L.A. Cotton. Each book in the series focuses on a different couple and is told in a dual POV. This story is full of angst, drama, and lots of high school pranks that go wildly out of control.

Hailee Raine is starting her senior year of high school along with her step-brother Jason Ford. Jason is the star quarterback for the Rixon Raiders, and he’s completely focused on the game and getting accepted to Penn State. Oh, and also making Hailee’s life extremely difficult.

Cameron Chase and Asher Bennet are both leaders on the football team, and they are best friends with Jason. Cameron and Asher both tend to go along with whatever scheme Jason is up to. But when the teasing goes too far, Cameron begins to question everything.

The Trouble With You was so addictive that I became completely immersed in the story. There were so many twists and turns, just couldn’t get enough of Cameron and Hailee!

The Game You Play is the second book in the Rixon Raiders series written by author L.A. Cotton. Each book in the series tells the story of a different couple. Even though this is true, I do suggest that you read the books in order. It will give you a better foundation to appreciate and understand the backstories, which continue throughout the series.

The Game You Play tells the story of Jason Ford and Felicity Giles. Felicity is best friends with Jason’s step-sister and to say they don’t get along, is a huge understatement. Jason was not a very nice guy in the first book, The Trouble with You. So, I started reading this book with mixed feelings about him. You see, Felicity is a sweet character, and the thought of them together gave me mixed feelings. But, as I read, things started to make sense, and I also fell for Jason. Their story reminded me of magnets, as they pushed and pulled each other throughout the book.

The Game You Play was full of angst, drama, and lots of twists. I was fully absorbed in the book, needing to find out what happened next.

And I cannot wait for the third book in the series, The Harder You Fall, which is expected to be published January 7th!

I definitely recommend adding this series to your TBR list!

Even though this is true, I suggest reading the books in order. This will give you a better foundation to understand and appreciate the backstories, which continue throughout the series. The Harder You Fall tells the story of Asher Bennet and Mya Hernandez, and I’ve been looking forward to reading their story for some time now!

In this story, Mya has moved to Rixon to escape a difficult past. Her two best friends (Hailee and Felicity) are dating Asher’s best friends (Cameron and Jason). They all tend to spend time together, and Asher and Mya soon begin dating. They have a strong chemistry, but her past soon comes back to haunt her. Asher’s currently dealing with some family issues, and he hasn’t informed his friends about it all. Soon Mya’s and Asher’s issues are creating havoc, but is their love for each other strong enough to handle what’s trying to pull them apart?

The Harder You Fall is full of angst, drama, and lots of twists. I was fully absorbed in their story and couldn’t turn the pages fast enough!

There is no doubt that L.A Cotton is a great writer but the Rixon Raiders series is exceptionally good. The live, loves and emotionally turmoil that these couples go through to get there HEA is not easy and all within the last year of High school before College. Over the three books although each couples story is separate they are still intwined we get to feel all the emotions of teenage love, the heartbreak of thinking that love isn't returned and the never ending drama that this is high school life.

First up is Hallie and Cameron. Cameron is the wide receiver for the Rixon Raiders the high school football team and best friends with Hallie's step brother Jason the QB. To say that Jason and Hallie don't get on is understatement - Jason hating Hallie's mom for what he says as breaking up his mom and dads marriage. Hallie and Jason are always in each other faces and pranking each other some harmless some not so. Cameron has always had feelings for Hallie but not wanted to be put into the middle he has always sided with his best friend easy when they were younger but now at 18 it is become more difficult. The more he tries to push Hallie away the more it hurts until Cameron has to make a choice before it is to late. Only trouble Jason and the rival football team'a QB from across the river are in war and Hallie and her best friend Felicity keep getting caught in the cross fire and that doesn't end when the first story does!

Next up is Jason and Felicity. Jason has a chip on his shoulder larger the biggest mountain in the world. Trying to live up to his dads expectations— isn't easy — his dad went to Rixon was star QB and if he hadn't got injured he would have been of to the NFL now that mantle has been passed to Jason who lives breaths and dies football, he uses girls and that is fine but there is something about his step-sisters friend that gets under his skin. Felicity has always had a crush on Jason. Felicity is a list maker and a good girl but before she goes to college and lives the life her parents wants becoming a blue collar worker she wants to have fun so she makes a list of all the things she wants to do in this year of freedom. What she wasn't expecting was the mix signals she keeps getting from Jason. With Hallie now attached to Cameron and although still her best friend, latino Mya joins the group and starts to help Felicity with her list. Only trouble is Jason and Felicity keep circling backing to each other. With the rivalry still going strong between the two the secret finally comes out as to what the feud is about and breaks Felicity heart all over again! Can the grumpy QB with the chip on his shoulder and the nerdy girl get their HEA

Last up is Mya and Ash - Ash is also on the football team, the more down to earth of the three boy's from the moment he meet Mya he was enthralled by her but Mya transferred to get away from an ex who had gotten in with a gang she doesn't need the attention of a star of the Rixon Raiders but when Ash wants something he goes for it. But tragedy is about to be fall before they can find their happy ending!

This is an amazing box set from this talented author and consists of the following novels: -
The trouble with you #1
This is the first in a new series from this gifted author, and what a brilliant introduction this is!! Hailee stepbrother lives to make her life miserable, but she gives as good as she gets, which lead to humorous shenanigans. Cameron is her stepbrother’s best friend, and he knows that she is off limits; that is until undeniable chemistry changes these enemies / friends and more. This is a beautifully written story which is emotional, steamy, and humorous, with drama and witty banter. I highly recommend for all readers.
The game you play #2I
This is the 2nd book in this phenomenal series and is Felicity and Jason’s story. Jason is the cocky and arrogant star football player, who has his life mapped out and nothing will stop him in his mission to get there. Felicity is a quiet and nerdy girl who has her life planned out by her parents, but she is determined to follow her own path through life. These two have a love / hate relationship, but the chemistry between them is explosive, and she is his calm through the storm. This is a beautifully written story which is filled with angst, emotion, and witty banter, which had me totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I highly recommend for all lovers of an enemies / lover’s romance.
The harder you fall #3
This is the 3rd book in this phenomenal series and is Mya and Asher’s’ story. Mya has not had an easy life, but she does not let her past define who she is today, and Asher comes from a privileged family who have his future planned out for him. This is a beautifully written story which is an emotional roller coaster throughout, as well as being gritty, raw, intense, intriguing, steamy, with undeniable chemistry, and with secrets and love which all lead to a powerful and riveting tale. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and highly recommend for all readers.

A brand new series from LA Cotton.
Each can be read as a standalone, with a new couple for each book. Each couple has their own struggles and drama but they fit for their love and get threw it in the end. If you love a YA / NA high school with angst and drama then you will love this series!

The Trouble With You Review:
A new series from LA Cotton was a must read for me when I saw it.
slow burn romance ✔️
Angst ✔️
Bully romance ✔️
Cocky football players ✔️
What’s not to love?
And I loved all of it.
The Trouble With You was a unputdownable book. I was hooked from page 1 until the end. I stayed up late to finish reading. I just couldn’t wait to see what happened.
Hailee was such a badass female character. She was strong and stood up for herself.
Jason was the a**hole step brother but by the end of the book, I loved him and I hope he gets his own book.
It took me a while to like Cameron, he was a follow the pack leader no matter what kind of guy but by the end of the book he grew a pair and stoop up for what he wanted.
I can’t wait to continue with this series!!

The Game You Play Review:
After reading The Trouble With You (Book 1) I couldn't wait to read The Game You Play. Jason is a character that you hate to love. You know the ones that get your interest going and make you want to find out more about them.

I wasn't sure if Jason's story would out do Cameron and Hailee's, but I have to say that I loved it more then The Trouble With You. It was addictive, full of angst and steam. I loved Jason and Felicity's chemistry, their was so much of it. I couldn't put this book down, I finished it in 24 hours. I kept reading and I didn't want to do adult stuff.

We got to see Jason's past and understand why he is the way he is. I loved Felicity, she was the opposite of Jason but you know what they say "opposites attract" and that is certainly true in this story.

I have to say I'm really excited for Asher's book. I loved him throughout this book, he's so sweet to Flick sometimes and he's a true friend.

The Trouble with You:
My god, that was AMAZING!!!! If I could give The Trouble with You 100 stars, I would. Hailee is my hero! I love her fiercely. Oh and Cameron is so swoon worthy it hurts my heart. The connection between Hailee and Cameron is undeniable. Their story will have hate, pain and love but what great love story doesn't.

The first page had me snickering with Jason and Hailee's antics. TTWY has many real life situations. Lianne did a fantastic job bringing this book to life. It should become a movie. TTWY has a little bit of everything happening but it's not overwhelming, it will keep you on your toes. You will feel all kinds of emotions and mske sure to have a box of tissues nearby. I got teary eyed a couple of times. I need more of the Raiders ASAP!!! I am in a book funk. All I can think about are these characters especially with that ending in this book. #IwouldrideaRaider #ineedmore #HailleandCameronrideordie #IlovetheRaiders

The Game You Play:
Jason and Felicity are everything!!!! I am keeping this short and sweet so I don't give anything away. You might have hated Jason before but you'll fall in love with him just like Felicity did. She saw the true him and never gave up, even if she went through some heartache.

The Harder You Fall:
Well damn. I didn't think I would have fallen hard for Asher but he is my favorite. I could feel his pain, heartache and the love he has.

Asher and Mya are going to bet all the odds in their story. But love isn't easy, it may even come with a price.

I would love to see Asher/Mya, Cameron/Hailee and Jason/Felicity off to college. It was an honor watching them grow during their senior year in high school but I would LOVE to see how they handle college. I just want more 🤷‍♀️

High School seniors and football....a recipe for drama, alpha males, hot bodies and lots of teenage angst. Every now and then I feel the need to read a YA story and the Rixon Raiders are really worth your time. My first read from LA cotton and I have to say I love her writing style. I felt immediately connected with her characters and the writing is relaxed with lots of dialogue that flows realistically.

The usual high school shenanigans but with some real life adult drama thrown in. I found myself invested from the beginning and really liked this group of friends/enemies.
Follow these 6 friends as they navigate their senior year of Rixon High and deal with all the pressures that come with it....

Loved this series.
You really want to hate many of the characters, mainly the male ones, but in the end its impossible.
I will add, I read all three books before writing this as I couldn’t put them down, 3 books in 2 days!!!
In book 2 I really loved seeing Jason get put in his place, well, whipped, by a girl. Felicity may not have thought it in the first place but she definitely managed to tame this beast.
A really good follow on to The Trouble With You.
We met Mya in book 2 and you always wondered what she was hiding. Well The Harder You Fall reveals all. A really great read once again.
Three books in 2 days should give an indication as to how much I really enjoyed this series and I am impatiently awaiting the final instalment, End Game being released.
Awesome series.

Just when you think LA Cotton’s writing couldn’t get any better she out does herself with the next book. Reading this trilogy will have you falling so hard for these guys!! You’ll be swooning so hard by the end of it!! I highly recommend this!!

I absolutely love this series! L. A. Cotton is an amazing author and this series did not disappoint. I can not say how much I LOVED Jason in the end he really did pull his head out of his ass and did everything he could for Felicity. Jason, Cameron and Asher are Rixon’s royalty the bad boys that everybody want to claim as there own. This is a book you do not want to miss.

I have received a free copy of this book for an honest review.

a different kind of genre for me

I’m not really a YA fan but these were really well done. High school definitely about self discovery and each person has their own story to overcome. The girls were far more appealing than the guy characters but jocks are egotistical so not too far off the mark. I think life long love goals at the tender age of 18 is a little much but hey, it’s fiction so why not?!

Highly recommended

I found this series by accident, but I’m so glad I did. Angsty in places, emotional, heartwarming and three badass girls who love fiercely and three footballers with more to them than meets the eye. If you love a good new adult romance this is worth checking out

I love the Rixon Raiders and I'm so happy that they are all together in this fantastic box set. Ash and Mya, Cameron and Halie and my favourite couple Jason and Flick. This high school/sports romance series will definitely throw you off kilter but it's all worth it for that final touchdown.

Wow

This was an amazing series. I love how the author catches such friendship and camaraderie between all the characters. The stars align with each couple and their stories are similar but unique. This is truly a great read!
