He’s a soldier. She’s an angel. Destiny has thrown them together. Two hearts, two souls and a chance at love if they’re willing to fight for it.

When Major Lewis Carpenter arrives home in Haven Falls he is literally knocked off his feet by his neighbour Emma. She is even more gorgeous than he remembers from his teenage fantasies. He arrives at her door to share a pumpkin pie and a bottle of wine, only to find her armed and ready to repel invaders.

Her story is that she is an angel. Her brother Sebastian has turned to the dark side and says she is the Chosen One for this Halloween. She is not going without a fight. Lewis, suffering from PTSD finds her story about as believable as some of his flashbacks, but is prepared to go along with her until proved otherwise.

Follow this couple through an exciting couple of days involving fights with fallen angels, a kidnapping and a rescue involving a fire truck. All’s fair in love and war, especially if you’re falling in love with an angel.

Angelfire is the first book in the touching Angelfire series. If you like appealing characters, heart-warming moments and action, then you’ll love Meg and Deryn’s exciting novel.

Angel Fire is a short, fast paced read that had me gripped from the first page. Despite being short the characters develop quickly and gain depth throughout the story.

Emma is an angel living a quiet life but the dark side have her in their sights.

Lewis is in the army and comes home on leave suffering from PTSD when Emma literally knocks him for six.

A love story waiting to happen but first the demons need to be dealt with and this reveals the inner characters of Lewis' parents as unknown skills become useful.

With it being a short story it is difficult to write a review without spoilers so I hope I have intrigued you enough to buy the book as you wont be disappointed this is a lovely story that will appeal to readers who like paranormal, romance, suspense and many other genres.

I am hoping for more books featuring Emma and Lewis

I read the information on this book and wondered if I actually wanted to read it. Was it my type of book? I went ahead and I have to say that I am so glad I did. Deryn Pittar and Meg Buchanan have written a wonderful story which is full of magic but, at the same time, seems to be so utterly plausible.
A soldier, Major Lewis Carpenter, returns from war with PTSD and visits the house next door where Emma lives - a girl he has fancied for years. He takes a bottle of wine with him and hopes that she will want to be friends. Once inside the house, he finds Emma ready for an invasion by fallen angels. Astounded, he listens to her story that she is an angel and the devil wants her for his bride. She has refused him and she is expecting him to arrive to claim her, along with his fallen angels who will fight for him and including Emma's brother who doesn't seem to be able to make up his mind whether he should join the devil or not.
It sounds so far-fetched but the authors have made it into a wonderful story where Lewis believes her and is determined to help her overcome the devil. He is surprised that even his parents are ready to believe and to help them. The outcome is tremendously well-described and I found myself shouting for them in their battle.
A lovely, light-hearted and so unusual story. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would read more.

"I don't think I can live up to your fantasy. I haven't done this before"
"That makes it even more perfect."

What a great joint-effort by these two amazing authors! Good versus evil. Angels versus the devil. Light versus the dark. And all through it, there's a battle for love.

Major Lewis Carpenter has returned home on furlough, except he's not the same man he used to be. His demons are warring for his mind. But, one thing hasn't changed - his love for her. Emma. The girl next door who has been front and center in his fantasies for years. When he finds her preparing for battle, and with a story no one in their right mind would ever believe, he finds himself taking up arms to protect her against anything or anyone who tries to harm her. But, is his brawn and training enough to save her? Enough to save them both?

Emma Manuelle, or Emmanuelle as she's known in her celestial circle, is the Chosen One. The Devil has chosen her to be his bride and bear his spawn. No way is she going without a fight. Now she has an ally in Lewis. Can they stop fate together or will this battle destroy every chance she has at happiness?

I really enjoyed this story! Angels, devils, firetrucks and water guns - and let's not forget the love part! Great read!

Jolly Good Read

I’ve not read a book about Angels before. This was a lovely read. It had two great characters and some very quirky ones! I would LOVE to see how their future goes. It was both dark and light, it had comedy, romance and action. The story rattled along - taking you with it - no long dull passages of boring introspection here! If you like a good, imaginative, amusing, innovative, angelic read - try this, I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Angelfire is a great read by authors Deryn Pittar and Meg Buchanan.

It's a romantic fantasy about Angels, Dark Angels and a Major in the Army.

Major Lewis Carpenter is on 4 weeks leave after his last mission went bad, now he's home to relax. While on leave he didn't expect he'd soon be saving the Angel from next door, Emma Manuelle.

I really enjoyed reading Angelfire. It's a quick and easy read that had me glued from the start.

An interesting Angel story. Both Lewis and Emma are sweet characters with their own sort of "flaw". It seems love is blind because neither took notice of what the other thought of as a flaw. Enjoyable story.

Quite a cute little story if a little crazy.
It was hard to suspend disbelief at times but passed the time.

Interesting take on an angel storyline if not entirely unbelievable.
Needed fleshing out more IMO.
Writing was so-so. I have read Buchanan before to mixed results. Pittar's dragon story held so much more sway.
Cover is pretty.
