Awesome Read!

This is a really good first book by Ms. Sommerly. It mixes urban fantasy and military/government spy ops in a unique way that is actually very complimentary for each other. The story is very cohesive, and you get to know the characters and begin to understand how and why they are the way they are. The action is fast-paced, and keeps you turning the page from the first to the last. There were minor punctuation errors, but they do not take anything away from this book at all. Congratulations Ms. Sommerly on a great first book. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

Our heroine is part of an elite demon fighting unit until she kills the wrong target. Then things go a bit pear-shaped.

This is book one of the series.

This is an interesting blend of military action series and urban fantasy. Overall, the story is well written and easy to read, but it suffers a bit from the first book syndrome. There is so much to introduce that some of the elements seem to get lost in the shuffle, but overall the setting is well developed and rather intriguing. Our characters are also well developed but have an element of the same issue in that the motivations are not always clear. Of course, that could be partly due to the elements of mystery and intrigue woven into the plot. Overall, there is a lot going on here, but I found it a very entertaining read and expect things to become clearer in the next book. I am looking forward to reading it.

Highly recommended.

The Hidden, the first book of the Hybrids series, is an ebook I downloaded for free through Kindle. I downloaded this book a couple years but the first chapter didn't pull me in. Now, fast forward to 2022 and I rediscovered it in my catalog and found myself reading this in one sitting. Once I got over her obsession with returning to the Marines who metaphorically threw her under the bus, I loved the story line and the strength of protagonist, Teagan.

good read

I'm excited to get the next in the series. The story just got more interesting. This book needs some serious editing. It was difficult to read and I ended up making my own lines just to get through a paragraph. Hopeful the author plans and getting it fixed,. All in all a good story.

Has potential

The main character annoys me. Her constant want to get back in the marines when they obviously set her up and betrayed her gets redundant. I don't like how she dismisses Lucian at the end. She acts like she is better than everyone.

I will give the second book a chance because it is a good story line. I hope the main character gets better

I liked this book. It was very entertaining and had a cool premise. I liked the idea of Demons coming to Earth 30 years ago and how both Demons and humans live now. Typical and somewhat believable and just made me shake my head. I liked the characters even though I did sometimes want to slap Teagan but she did make it interesting to read. The other characters were rather entertaining too. I liked the mix of demons and humans with the urban fantasy, mystery and secret ops. Well written and sucked me in and kept me reading to figure out what was really going on.

Awesome!

For a first novel, wow. Carolyn you are so so talented, apart from the grammatical mistakes that you've already addressed, this is a brilliant book from beginning to end.
The twists made my heart stop.
I am too excited for book two 😍😍

I have not read this type of genre. Found it fascinating and face paced. I loved that about the book. Also, many times I was totally surprised by events in the book. I can’t wait for the next one to come out!!!’
