Hard For Her #4

Hard as Stone

One injured football star+One curvy personal chef=It's gonna get hot and spicy...in the kitchen!

Harlan Stone here. Yeah. I'm that guy. If I'm going to post-season, I have to get my act together while I heal from an injury. Against my wishes, Coach sends over a personal chef, to keep me from gorging on pizza and burgers. A chef is the last thing I want.

Until I see the curvy hottie who shows up. The moment I see her, I know I'll eat anything she puts in front of me. She's the treat I want to eat.

She's completely unimpressed with who I am. Yet when I tease her, I can see I'm scoring points with her.

But she pushes me away, saying I'm a client, and nonsense about not mixing business with pleasure. She doesn't believe how much I want her curves, but I'm going to show her that I'm hard as stone for her.

A championship ring may be a Stone's throw away, but I'm gonna win her heart and put a ring on her finger. There isn't a playbook for love, but losing her isn't an option. And I'm a winner.

Hard as Stone is a short and hot story featuring a hunky quarterback and the BBW woman who brings him to his knees. This is perfect for a pick-me-up during your day or just before bed. Guaranteed HEA, no cheating, no past relationship drama -- just two people discovering their perfect match and starting a smokin' future together.

Good

This was a pretty decent read but I wanted Harlan and Dawn to get to know each other more. I wanted her to cook for him longer than she did before they were declaring feelings. They barely knew each other before they were saying I love you.

Safety and Spoilers
Completely safe. No ow/om drama, drama with a hostess at a restaurant who wouldn’t let h have her reservation because of her weight because she didn’t fit in the popular restaurant. I would have liked her taken down a peg or two. H’s past isn’t mentioned and h was stood up by a guy at her cousins wedding but nothing else is mentioned. Both are not virgins. No abuse.

Almost

This was an enjoyable read. The whole superstar athlete and the chubby self conscious cook, didn’t quite jive. It just didn’t have that flow of storyline, there was something missing.

What's for dinner, Hot Stuff?

Hard as Stone is the fourth book in the Hard for Her series, each by a different author. This is the story of Harlan Stone and Dawn McCasrthy. He is the star quarterback for The Force with a penchant for fast food but in his last game he was tackled and his leg was injured and is now is a cast. In order to keep him healthy and help him heal the Coach hires a personal chef for Harlan until he is able to play again. Dawn is a curvy young woman who graduated from culinary school and originally worked is several kitchens but decided she wanted her food to be something more personal. So she went to work as a personal chef with a dream of saving enough money to publish her own cook book.
When Dawn is hired to cook for Harlan she really did not want this job. She is not a football fan, barely even knows the game, and things Harlan is "probably a Grade A douchebag. Athletes are the biggest babies when they get hurt." But she needs the money for her cookbook so she begrudgingly shows up at Harlan's penthouse to cook for him. What she is greeted with is a barely clothes Harlan sitting on the couch. I mean the sexy specimen was sitting there is the smallest running shorts that barely covered anything and a cast on one leg..................that was it!!! What starts off is a funny and flirtatious banter back and forth. Harlan tries to dish it out but Dawn is a woman that will hold her own and not take anything from him. He quickly realizes that he wants her in a lot of ways that she was not hired for. He also loves the fact that she is a real curvy woman, is smart, stands up for herself and is not afraid to speak her mind.

This is a fun, flirty, sweet, dirty and very entertaining story. The characters of Dawn and Harlan are wonderful together as they banter back and forth throughout the story. I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it.
Note - there is an Epilogue that you can get if you sign-up for the author's newsletter. It is a nice wrap-up

Dawn is a beautiful young woman and a very successful chef. She’s worked in the industry but finds that she much prefers working for herself as a personal chef. She visits her clients homes and prepares them appetising, healthy meals that they’re guaranteed to enjoy. In her spare time she is writing her own cookbook, but it takes time and money, so it’s coming along slower than she would like. Dawn loves her food but unfortunately that means that she’s got a very curvy figure. She’s self conscious about it, especially when she’s about to meet her latest client. Harlan Stone is a talented quarterback who is currently injured and has to rest at home. His coach knows that he loves his fast food so as an intervention he hires Dawn to make Harlan healthy meals to avoid him putting on weight while he heals. Used to getting his own way, he’s sure that he will be able to put the chef in their place and order himself a pizza. But when he meets the feisty young woman, he is thrilled that she talks back to him and takes no messing. He’s blown away by her gorgeous, curvy figure and sets his sights on making her his. This is a short and sweet, insta-love story that’s interesting and entertaining throughout. Very enjoyable.

I liked this story. The characters were interesting and relatable. I really liked both of the main characters in this story.

Harlan Stone is a quarterback that is trying to heal from an injury. His coach hires a personal chef to cook for him so he doesn't eat junk food so he will be ready to go in post-season. Harlan doesn't want a chef but changes his mind when he sees Dawn for the first time. She is a curvy hottie and he decides that he will eat anything she gives him. Harlan likes that he can tease Dawn and she will give it right back to him. She isn't impressed by him and he likes that too. He decides that he's going to prove to Dawn that he wants her and win her heart.

I was fully prepared for Harlan to be a super conceited jerk and I was pleasantly surprised. Dawn was full of contradictions, one minute she was confident in who she was and what she deserved and the next she was self-conscious. The interactions between the characters were entertaining. I loved their happy ever after. I recommend reading this book.

Lana Love does it again with this delightful BBW and alpha male romantic short story. In it, she chronicels the romantic journey of Dawn McCarthy and Harlan Stone. She is a personal chef. He plays football professionally as his teams quarterback. Destiny brings these two together when he is sidelined due to an injury and his coach hires her to ensure he eats healthy foods. When these two meet, sparks fly. She is a talented chef, very self-confident, independent, and not afraid to stand up for herself. He is smitten by her and these attributes. Will they explore their feelings and move into a relationship? To discover how their journey goes, you must read this book.
I enjoy Ms. Love’s writing style and find it easy to follow and quite enjoyable. In this simple boy meets girl romance, she created two dynamic lead characters thus making this a character-driven plot. Her dialog is outstanding. Nicely done, Ms. Love.

First things first; I love the cover of this book!
Hard as stone is book four in the hard for her series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Harlan Stone is a professional football player that is out for this season due to an injury. In order to make sure he eats healthy, he hires a personal Chef. Dawn is a chef that is hired by an injured footballer. The last thing she ever expects is to fall for him.
The chemistry between Harlan and Dawn is clear to see and I liked them as a couple. I thought that they made a cute couple.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read.

Such a great book! Harlan is a professional football player, unable to play due to an injury. Concerned for his health, Harlan's coach hires a personal chef while he recovers. Dawn is unimpressed by professional athletes, and fears Harlan will be an arrogant jerk, looking down on her due to her larger size. But one look at her, one taste of her impressive cooking, has him convinced he's met the love of his life. Dawn isn't quite so quick, but she's not so far behind.
I loved how Harlan sees Dawn's larger curves as a plus, not something to be disdained. And the way he allows no one else to mistreat her is just wonderful! This is a quick read, fun and sexy!

This is the fourth book in a multi author series though each book is a total stand alone each book is a shortish read that is perfect for the fast paced life we live today This is a first for me with this author but as the series had a couple of favourite authors I decided to grab them all

Harlan Stone is the quarterback for a team that is heading into a possible championship season the only problem is he is injured and is eating all the wrong types of food So his coach sends over a personal chef something he doesn't want that is until he sees her. Dawn as no intention of hooking up with her latest client and why would a superstar athlete want anything top do with a curvy girl like her. Can Harlan convince her she is the one for him You will have to read to see

Dawn is a personal chef who is hired to cook for Harlan Stone a Football Star. She figures he is going to be awful to work for, but she didn’t expect him to be so gorgeous and nice! Harlan is laid up with a knee injury so his coach hires him a chef, only he was not expecting the beautiful curvy woman who showed up on his door! Harlan knows that she is the one for him. Now he just has to show her that they belong together! Great quick read that I would highly recommend!

This is such an awesome book that I enjoyed reading. The story and character building were off the charts, the characters and had me reading into the late hours of the night, I couldn't put it down. It's full of emotion, drama, action, chemistry, steam, hot alpha males, and hot and steamy romances. The chemistry between the characters is amazing and the story line was fantastic, it"s a definite must read for any fan and I can't wait to read more form this author.

This is a great story! I loved every minute of it. I didn't want it to end. I loved the connection between Dawn and Harlan.

Harlan is a football player who is out for an injury. Dawn has been hired to cook healthy meals for him. Harlan is amazed by Dawn when he meets her. He wants to get to know her on a more personal level. Dawn doesn't fully believe that Harlan could be interested in her. Will he show her that she is wrong?

Hard as Stone is right! Harlan Stone is more than what everyone made him out to be and Dawn was the one to bring it out. Their story is sweet. Some parts I felt moved faster but the story is short. It is sweet and sexy!

I enjoyed this "Hard For Her" story! It's a fairly quick read that is fun, sweet and sexy. Dawn and Harlan meet and it's instant attraction but she tries to keep it professional. She is hired to be his personal chef. He is a football star that is injured. The coach is trying to keep him healthy and away from pizza, burgers and junk. This is cute story.

Stone

Dawn is not looking forward to cooking for Harlan Stone. He's a quarterback who gets what he wants. She won't take any grief from him and he likes that. When helps her out she learns there is more to him then the entitled athlete he projects. She eager and ready to love Harlan Stone the more she knows.

Over the top ridiculous. There is no story line, the characters are shallow and cliché. But it’s expected due the length of the story

Not knowing much about Harlan Stone, yet definitely expecting the worst, Dawn is more than pleasantly surprised when she realises that he is a good person. When her feelings morph into the romantic variety, she's not sure if she'll be enough woman for him.

This was an overall pleasant read.

Personal chef vs. Football player

Great idea for a story! Harlan Stone, quarterback extraordinaire is laid up with a led injury and his coach wants him eating healthy. The coach hires Dawn to cook for him. They connect immediately. There are some editing errors.

Title Was Perfect

The title of this book was perfect for it. Harlan is a football player that got hurt and his coach is having a chef Dawn to cook for him to get him in shape. A great read and just in time for football season
