I wish I could speak Italian and wrote these sentences in Italian. As a Fener fan, I can not find right words to describe how I love Gigi. He is more than a basketball player, that is for sure. With this book, I found a chance to discover real Gigi Datome. How he thinks, how he feels, how he encourages himself, how he tackles the problems...
This book is full of hidden gems (lots of book, movie, author recommendations)

datome'nin, kitabın ortaya çıkmasına vesile olan arkadaşının, biyografi önerisi reddedildikten sonra getirdiği öneri cidden zekice: nesnelere önem vermeyen bir kişi olarak, datome'nin nesneler üstünden kendi hikayesini anlatması. böylece klasik bir biyografi ya da otobiyografiden daha güzel bir kitap ortaya çıkmış. keşke başka sporcular da benzer yollara başvursa.

bobby dixon'ın, aynı yayınevinden çıkan otobiyografisi büyük hayal kırıklığıydı. o yüzden kitaba başlarken inceden bir çekincem vardı.

ama tabii, ülkedeki neredeyse her basketbol kitabı çevirisinde olduğu gibi, burada da 'sayı' yerine 'puan' kelimesini görüyoruz. ondan kaçış yok.

That's a light biography of one of the best Italian players I've ever seen. I admire him and the chapter about social media explains a lot about his impact on the communication of Italian basketball. His presence on the social networks contributed to narrow down the distance between supporters and players – and also gave him some trouble, as he mentions. I really liked the part about the National team, his negative experience in NBA and his childhood in Sardinia. Many other paragraphs are a bit flat. Even though the style is very simple and clear, it's one of those books to read in the summer - that's the risk of reading the story of a sportsman who is still active.

Gigi Datome (da grandissimo lettore qual'è), assieme a Francesco Carotti , ci fa vivere istante dopo istante la sua crescita come uomo e come giocatore. Una storia che va letta con tanto di passaparola generale, anche per i sacrifici e le sconfitte che a livello lavorativo l'hanno portato ad essere quello che è e che sarà.

Sono di parte, da amante della pallacanestro, ma come dico sempre i nostri giocatori -della nazionale, Nba o Legabasket ed Eurolega- sono il nostro sogno realizzato, anche se con protagonisti diversi. Come spesso accade trovo molte similitudini, anche per le lacrime versate in spogliatoio per situazioni sportive complicate.
Molto scorrevole, sono certo che l'impegno messo davanti al PC a scriverlo sia figlio di tutti i libri da lui letti e di mettersi alla prova, come sempre, nella vita.

Visto che sei un hashtag dipendente... #bravoGigi!

There are people who inspire you to be a better version of yourself and Gigi Datome is one of those people for me. He is a natural leader, has a kind spirit and a brilliant mind.

I wasn’t expexting anything less from him. Reading his book is like walking through a hall and looking to the photos on the walls.

His excitement, the “blues” (“hüzün” is the correct word actually) is pouring out from the pages and wrap the reader’s (mine) emotions. There are some parts that made me quite emotional that I even may have shed one or two tears.

Thank you Gigi, for this book and everything you have done on court and for being a role model.

Very nice book from a great player. His book is also as good as his basketball skills and his character.
Anyone who is interested with basketball should read the book especially young players.

Gigi'nin bizimle ne kadar özdeşleştiğini bu kitapla bir kez daha anladım. Sahada ve saha dışında örnek alınması gereken bir insan. Keşke uzun yıllar Fenerbahçe forması ile onu görebilseydik ama ilerde de yolumuzun bir şekilde kesişeceğine inanıyorum. Her Fenerbahçelinin kütüphanesinde olması gereken bir kitap. Teşekkürler büyük sanatçı.
