Three years ago, Tim Starling ran from Veronica Dey, the "M" word hanging in the air behind him.
But three years is a long time, particularly when a guy is counting the days that have passed since he made the biggest mistake in his life.
Three years is also long enough to realize what he really wants is be married and become a father . . . as long as his wife and the kid's mother are Roni Dey.
Three years is also long enough for her to realize she just might not need him in her life after all.
But he isn't the CEO of the family firm just because he was born into the executive office. He has a plan, the funds to see it to fruition, and a willingness to do whatever it takes . . come rain or come shine...to win her back for the perfect happily ever after.
Even if it looks like she's replaced him in her life with a Nordic god.
Beth Henderson's first book was published in 1990. She has also written as Lisa Dane, Beth Cruise and Elizabeth Daniels. And currently as J.B. Dane and Nied Darnell as well.
Can Tim make Roni see that the second time around, it’s forever? I love a riveting second chance romance, especially when there’s groveling involved. Trust me, there’s loads of groveling and so much more. Second Time Around has everything you want in a romance including relatable characters, snappy dialogue, descriptive narration, a nonpredictable plot, and a love story that’ll melt your heart. I enjoyed this romance quite a bit and if you are a romance reader, you’ll love it too.
Like any good romance, it starts and ends with the characters. Tim is a hero many women will adore. I like his frankness and his willingness to admit he’s wrong. I like Roni too. Together, they make a striking couple. How they worked out their HEA ending is worth reading. No, they aren’t Barbie and Ken, but instead they come across as real people dealing with emotion, tension, and love.
The plot progression is smooth. The descriptive narration is immersive and detailed. Every scene is portrayed visually so the reader can not only follow the story but be swept away.
The romance is second chance and romantic comedy, written with a masterful hand. There were times when I couldn’t stop reading. It was such a pleasure to read.
If you love romantic comedy, this is your next addictive read. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can recommend it to all readers.
