O olho
As cobras
O Espelho

Odd. The metaphors are vivid at times and elusive at others. I wish there were more of a consistent ideology throughout, but perhaps the author wishes to reflect life as it is: magical and non-magical, narrative-driven and non-sensical, sometimes awesome and sometimes godless.

There are very few channels that can convey the majesty of what it is like to move through consciousness hand-in-hand with spirit and ceremony while conversing with Ayahuasca. But earlier this year, after hearing about some of my experiences and visions, @fellina_ink introduced me to SEE PALA and the artwork of @aldousmassie for my birthday. It was a big one as it marked a complete immersion in ceremonial practice. This book illustrates, for me, some of the battles that I have fought through the years to allow this part of me shine to through in public. While each journey and path is highly individual, there are certain universal truths that act as markers in the exploration and Aldous has created a truthful map of juxts outlining the beauty and brutality that can exist within that journey alongside wrestling with the shadow of learning how to walk beside yourself while sharing your heart with others.

I was gifted this book by a friend a year or so back. I was going through a lot of deeply held personal trauma and was working on my own wounds. I devoured this book. The connection of each woman to a specific Chakra and how the disempowerment of self (complete with the lies we frequently tell ourselves) really helped me break open what was going on inside. I had to wait for the next one to be published and wait I did (the second one took everything soooo much further for me. I could feel the growth of the characters through out it). This is the beginning point which will leave you hungry for more. This is a breaking point in which we see and feel how important breaking points are. Aldous Massie gives our suffering meaning through-out the series and it is WELL worth your time.
The art is on-point and powerful. The imagery conveys just as much as the story. Everything has meaning and Massie beautifully shows us what those meanings are while gently reminding us that our most powerful selves come from within.
