Sophie recently added an addition to her art store, and now plans to remodel the top floor into an apartment. But during demolition, the workers find three leather cases containing old illuminated manuscripts. Oh, and a skeleton! So now Sophie and her boyfriend, Detective Ben Sorenson, have not one, but two mysteries to solve. Can they put the pieces together and figure out who the thief and killer it is, before it's too late?
This book has everything - a little romance, some old-fashioned friendship, some family dynamics and a couple of crimes to solve. Sophie and Ben make a great team, both in the crime-solving department and in love.
Extra fun is thrown into this story by Sophie's great connections to people who can help solve the crimes. The characters in the book truly seem real, and their relationships with each other is perfect. Some are serious, but most are fun. Even when things became tense and dangerous, there was belief that the good guys would win.
I recommend the book to anyone who enjoys multi-faceted crimes that call upon multiple disciplines to work the cases and love getting into the details. The book is very well-written and very enjoyable to read!
An enjoyable story with a few twists. It’s fun to see the characters develop more and the addition of new ones. I love a happy ending! Have a fun read!
