Analysis of the novel ‘SHE MET LIFEʼ by SHWETA MAHESHWARI.
This novel is in third person narration. Preethi narrates the story of Sameer
and Sophia to Raman.
This novel is the type of PERSPECTIVE NOVAL,While reading a fiction, readers see
and experience the events and feelings about the characters through a certain
point of view, which is called a “perspective.” A perspective is a literary tool,
which serves as a lens through which readers observe characters, events, and
happenings. The character and the life of Sameer and Sophia has lensed by
Preethi.
The theme of the novel is ‘the people who are engulfed by circumstances of
the life without any hope or light can get SELF-CONFIDENCE and INSPIRATION
through this novelʼ. The life of Sophia seems the roller coaster ride of the
emotions, which is the reader can experience From these lines,“ the pain is
oozing out profusely from her eyes” and “What happened to Sameerʼs family,
especially his wife Sophia? Was she able to bear this hardest brunt? Was she able
to move ahead or surrendered herself to what destiny served her?”. The ideal
characters of Sameer and Sophia can clearly interpret through the certain Point
of View of Preethi.
The SATIRE in this novel is the Ideal characters. The novel fully focuses the
Moral characters of Sameer and Sophia.
The characters of Sophia:
Sophia is a charming lady, an adorable wife, a loving mother, a sincere
daughter, a docile daughter-in-law, and a quirky friend. As a wife she never fails
to live up to the expectations to be a true match. As a mother she is a perfect
amalgamationof love, care, concern, and compassion. She always proves herself
to be an accurate personification of an earnest daughter as well as daughter-in-
law. Sophia is a highly organized wife; She bear highly sympathetic qualities
when it came to maintaining relationships toward not only the family members
but servants too.
The character of Sameer:
He is a very humble, kind, concerned, protective, and caring husband
and father. A docile, yielding and compliant son who always follows what his
parents asks for. Sophia is one of the luckiest women to get married to such an
amiable person who is more of a friend to her than a domineering husband. A
highly understanding and supportive husband whom Sophia never hid anything
from. Like other typical husbands, he never makes her feel vulnerable; He acts
like sunshine for Sophiaʼs mornings, shade for noon and somberness for her
nights.
Flirting with one other is their hobby. Sameer is quiet in his flirting
methodology. Flirting with your spouse is all about enjoying the little and cute moments of married life. Sophia has more complaints. She uses to get frustrated
easily but Sameer knows the tact to handle her skilfully. Sameer would approach
her in a more adorable and delectable manner by apologising first.
Sophia always considers as the epitome of trust and loyalty. silly arguments
always makes their bond sturdier rather than making it fragile. The couple who
uses to set an example in their family for their devoted bond, the soulful
connection they have and the kind of aura they both used. they both move the
vehicle of their married life with its tyres totally inflated with love and happiness,
companionship and faith as the fuel.
The ALLEGORY in this novel is the rising trend of breakups and the notion of
true love. The author balanced these trend with the characters. Preethi and
Sameer are example of true love doesnʼt exist in this so-called techie world, and
Raman and Sophia are example of true love exists and it doesnʼt die with time,
True Love wherein we respect each otherʼs choices.
