If James Bond were an American woman who preferred angry mojitos to martinis, her name would be Hoffmann. Alex Hoffman puts everything on the line against unseen enemies in this gripping techno-thriller.Ghost PatternThere's no willpower, no intelligence, and no spirit that won't succumb to the right mix of drugs. From drones, to the Russians thinking they can control the US by who gets the presidential election. To espionage, terrorists, and wanting power of US. Alex has her work cut out for her. Thrilling series, and have read them separately, and reviewed, and now to have them in one set is great. My favorite of the five was OPERATION SUNSET by Leslie Wolfe book 5 in Alex Hoffman.series A winner once again for Leslie, this is an intriguing plot tracking nuclear weapons. With Russian for their part in the scheme. The suspense of how Alex and her team work together Is great, you feel like you are with them on their mission. I enjoy all of them in this series, and they can be read separately.
Five stars only mean one star per novel, but Amazon won't recognize and deal with that problem. This was over 1400 pages of excitement, and the enemy and Alex remained locked in combat for all five. This actually was the literal !mental combat of two people clearly representing good v. evil and by the last novel, the future of the world depended on the outcome. I don't have to tell how how desperate that situation sounds and is, but author Leslie Wolfe handles it with aplomb. Alex is a woman to admire and emulate; Vitalyi abhorred. It was long, complicated, and sometimes confusing, but these five books in one are worth it if you like the spy genre. You won't guess what's coming next. If you do, you should be writing your own novels instead of reading hers.
'Alex Hoffman: Five Exciting Thrillers' was a great way to start a series. Full of action, mystery, thrilling scenarios, even scarier circumstances and some memorable characters. Alex makes the perfect lead. I love her thought process and how she goes about righting wrongs. Definitely a great add to your tbr list. Highly recommended.
In reading this book I wanted to fall asleep. It is top heavy with computer instruction and interworking of a business. The concept of the book was good however it didnt follow the first chapter. Leslie went heavy on the technology which was to much to make a good read.
Loved, loved, loved the Alex Hoffmann series!! Fantastical characters with gripping plots in true Leslie Wolfe style--don't miss this thrilling series!! Would love to see Alex and The Agency gang again!!
Read along as Alex grows and becomes a special agent!
It was very interesting reading the books from beginning to end and see the growth of Alex!! Lots of excitement and surprises along the way!! It was a fun read!! Always enjoy reading Leslie’s books!!
I couldn’t put this series down, the plot was so clever and just kept building and building. I’m now seriously considering reading the five books again, so good was the read. Highly recommended & thank you Leslie Wolfe x
I love Leslie Wolfe's stories and I am a big fan. I had read a couple of Alex's stories but for the first time you can get the complete collection and have hours of entertainment for your money. I did find a few started off a bit slow and a couple went into to much detail about operations and things but the action sure made up for it. I liked the first book but found them to be a bit slow but really liked the later books. Executive: A Thriller -This is the first book in the series and it was great seeing how they all got together. A CEO wants to find out what is going wrong with his company every time he tries to retire there is an accident and the stocks plummet. So he calls in new recruit Alex to go in under cover at board meeting and find out what is happening. Cost cutting is hurting his bottom line but it shouldn't cost people there lives, whish is what is happening when drones are involved. Devil's Move- This one in my opinion was the weakest book. with the election fast approaching in America secret deals and moves are being played out behind the scenes in an attempt to rig the campaign but with Alex and the team going under cover in factories and companies across the world someone's plan is going to fail. The Backup Asset - I think this one was my favourite. With secret technology being leaked Alex has to narrow the suspects down to find the culprit but the document was found in a shared bus and with everyone who used it having something to hide it wont be easy. The top secret papers are cleverly copied and disguised so Alex's first job is to workout how they are getting out of a top secret government building and then getting out of the country but with people will to die can Alex and the team stop them before I deadly weapon gets in the wrong hands? The Ghost Pattern: A Medical Thriller. I really like this one too. When a plane crashes out to sea everyone feared the worse but when you are a billion air and the love of your life is on that plane you will stop at nothing to find her and if possible get her bac. In steps Alex and her team and it is a good job they do because the plane didn't crash, something far worse happens- they are taken as hostages for the use in someone's deadly game. A simple plane investigation turns into a race against time. Operation Sunset The master mind behind some deadly attacks is back with his most deadliest plan yet , to use mother nature against the Americans by placing some very well placed bombs in certain places and with a terrorist network willing to die for him he might just pull this one off. All in all a great collection for any fan of thriller books.
This series consists of five full length novel that need to be read in their order to see the characters development, as well as the escalation and the resolution of the conflict with one formidable enemy. There were some parts of the plot that I actually enjoyed. That being said, I did not like the choice of the enemy country and its cliche descriptions, as well and oh so cliche characteristics of the people in that particular nation - after all, according to this cliche, I could be mean and evil too, since I am a native of the said nation. As I mentioned with my separate reviews for each book in the series, the foreign language used in the book, as well, as some cultural moments and personal names need more work and corrections - there were some mistakes and not quite true statements (I do understand these books are a work of fiction, but nevertheless). If one wants to be even more scared of bad Russians and be thrilled by such a fear, you would really enjoy this series.
Bestselling author Leslie Wolfe offers a collection of five exciting novels packed with mystery, thriller and suspense. With intriguing twists and turns these novels will easily captivate the reader’s attention from the beginning. The author paints a series of gripping and mesmerizing detective stories in a very vivid and convincing way. In addition, the main character (Alex Hoffmann) is drawn with great credibility and conviction. These are fast-paced novels that will keep you engaged from the first page to the last.
The five stories in this collection follow Alex Hoffman as she goes into various companies investigating the concerns of the principals. Along the path of these stories a common plot emerges that hooks the reader and doesn’t let go until that last page. Originally I read each of these books separately, but being able to sit down and follow Alex as each separate story evolves and merges into the next was excellent. If you are looking for some excellent entertainment, grab a copy of Alex Hoffman, you won’t be sorry, unless you don’t get any sleep.
This boxset of five thrillers making up the Alex Hoffman series is an excellent read, which I could barely put down. Whilst interlinked, you could technically read them as individual stories as each has any necessary background explained in it. But why would you not want to read them all when they are full of breathtaking, edge-of-your-seat action - especially when you can get them in this great value boxset too! Highly recommended reading! The only negative for me? I wish there were more stories. Though how they'd top the fifth, I really don't know!
I was going to ask when was the novel published but the my intelligence kicked in. This is a novel that may have already happen as written in fiction. If a computer is on board an aircraft, even drones, they can be hacked. They have been hacked. As soon as a hacking problem is discovered the appropriate agencies go to work immediately. This novel depicts one of those episodes. The names were changed to protect the innocent. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS
Alex Hoffmann and The Agency pursue criminals in a world of technology and intrigue. The stakes are high and, whether the criminal is International or corporate, the game is dangerous. The Agency unravels the clues and apprehends the criminals in ways that remind me of a mix of James Bond sophistication and Mission Impossible tenacity and skill. Hang on for the ride, because the plots are full of suspense and non-stop action!
I received a copy of this series in exchange for an honest review. I can honestly say that I truly enjoyed every hour I spent reading the five books in this series. The main character, Alex Hoffman is a brilliant young woman with great analytical skills. She works for a company that does undercover investigations for corporate clients. She has a great team of interesting highly skilled coworkers. I recommend this series for anyone who likes thrillers.
While well written, the plot of each book is unbelievable. We are to believe that an ordinary woman with an IQ of160 can stop what entire governments cannot? I don't think so.
Absolutely wonderful compilation of five stories/books of a series. Lots of action and suspense! A must read for anyone who enjoys well written tales that are hard to put down.
