Just when Jewels Cafe is finally flourishing, and my three mates and I find our happily ever after, everything goes wrong. Someone starts sabotaging our cafe and I keep shifting into unusual supes. Mermaid, anyone? Plus, my guys are acting weird—and they're definitely keeping things from me. Can they no longer feel the mating bond that brought us together? And will we be able to save Jewels Cafe before it's too late?
Dive into the second installment of this quirky, why choose, small town romance today. If you love happy books, humor and wonky magic, you'll love Amber and her guys.
Warning: Contains an unpredictable chameleon, hilarious miscommunication, an overprotective bear shifter, a witch whose spells always go wrong, and some steamy time with more than one carrot. Do not read while drinking hot beverages.
Amber: Deja Brew is a paranormal reverse harem novel and the sequel to Amber. It’s part of the Jewels Cafe shared universe, which can be read in any order.
Mia Harlan lives in Canada with her husband (who’s definitely Not a Vampire) and their adorably fluffy cat. They recently welcomed a Mini Mortal (a baby girl) and are happy to report she doesn't have fangs.
Mia is a librarian by day and an author by night. She's been reading romance since she turned 13 and published her first novel in mid-2019. She writes humorous, quirky (and mostly paranormal) reverse harem romance as Mia Harlan. She also plans to start publishing teen paranormal romance as Mia Meade once her Mini Mortal is a tad older and she can get back to her writing routine.
The Jewels Cafe series is really perfect for this time. It's the calm in the storm, the happily ever after when the outside world feels like a dystopia, the warm and soothing hug that no one else right now can give me. I'm therefore really glad that I have quite a few jewels cafe stories left to read and since Amber was one of my favorites from the first series, I was excited to start the sequel.
And not once did the sequel disappoint. Once again the plot is lovely. The story is really going somewhere, it has a start, a middle and a beginning and it's never going nowhere or just running around in circles. And most of all: the plot serves as a cord for quite a few hilarious situations, conversations and also for some nice character development.
In the previous book we did get to know Chase a little, but I still felt like we didn't really know him. That was totally made up in this book. Not only did we really get a look into his mind and thought process, we also saw his insecurities, his background and we saw him grow and learn. There were, along the way, however a lot of moments I just wanted to hug him and tell him that it was all in his head and that the mean voices were lying to him. A pity I couldn't.
And I really love Amber as a character. Amber is funny, flawed and it's therefore very easy to connect with her and to relate to her. She's incredibly human. She makes mistakes, she has worries and doubts, she doesn't always voice those, but she does dare to share all those emotions. And I love the pact they made at the end that there really would be no more lies and secrets.
I will be so sad once I read all those books and have to wait for the weekly releases to come...
Short, fun and quirky with a touch of mystery. I liked it more than the first one, now that they’ve gotten together. So many interesting characters. I’m glad this one came back for a sequel. Curious about violet.
Amber: Deja Brew picks up where Amber left off. This story is a funny and clever continuation of the first Amber book. The characters a hilarious and awkwardly cute as they try to figure out the ins and outs of their new relationship. On top of that, the trouble that they thought they had left behind is rearing it’s ugly head again. Loved this book and hope that we get more of Amber and her men.
I was so excited to delve into more of Amber and her mates in book 2! Amber: Deja Brew takes place right after the events of book one. Amber is still experiencing new things with her three mates Julian, Wes and Chase and she is finding some things a bit challenging when it comes to spending time with them. Amber finds herself wanting to just hug them all, but she is concerned how they feel about not only the relationship but each other. To put added pressure on Amber, strange and unexplained things begin to happen in their now busy cafe, and since they recently received multiple negative reviews from an angry bakery witch who had feelings for Julian, they are trying everything they can to help the cafe business continue to grow into a positive manner. With all of this happening and Amber still not able to control her chameleon shifting magic, readers can expect funny antics, new friends, and many more hot moments with her and her mates. I hope we continue to get more books about the occupants of Jewels Cafe!
This book will make you laugh out loud, spit your drink out read. So Amber is back with Chase, Wes and Julian. So what could be happening this time around. Amber is too cute and she worries that the guys may get jealous of each other. Which is quite funny in the beginning of the book. Her internal monologue is very entertaining. She just cracks me up because she is still pure in some ways. Then all kinds of crazy things start to happen in the cafe that is causing them to lose business. So then you wonder where is Minerva? Why is all this happening? Then you meet a mermaid named Karma? Uh oh, is she the cause of the craziness? In the amidst of the chaos will Amber finally get what she has been wanting. She has been craving carrots and seems to be having a hard time trying to attain them. LOL Oh man this book is explosive with chaos. Don't miss out on this book. It does have a happy ending.

Amber is the owner of Jewel Cafe, a speciality drink place the serve unusal coffee, Mood tea, and chocolate. She is a cameleon shifter who has three mates: Julian (wonky magic), Wesley (bear shifter), and Chase (rabbit shifter). All sorts of bad things are happening at the cafe. The suspect a witch cursed the cafe. Are they right?
The characters are funny, unique, and magical. The plot is a fast paced hilarious mystery with various twist. These shifters, witches, and other magical creatures live in Silver Springs that if both fascinating and magically hilarious. I have read only two books so far and eagerly awaiting for more of these rollicking-leave-laughing books.
I would give this book and series more than 5 stars if I could. Highly recommended.
I loved this book. It is a sequel to Amber and follows directly on from it. This book made me smile and it made to laugh so much. The author injected so much humour into the story, the innuendo about carrots was particulary funny. I love the characters and really felt for Amber, she was so confused about how to act around the guys worrying they would get jealous of each other! If you haven't already read Amber, read that first and you have already read it then jump right in! This is one book you won't want to miss

What happens after you fall for three guys and you have to deal with the chaos that follows? What will parents think? What about family? What about each other? How can they overcome their own worries to be together happily when someone keeps sabotaging their lives?
This is a sweet, funny follow up starting the morning after 'Amber' the first book of the in the Jewel Cafe PNR/HR series.
I enjoyed the funny chameleon shifter who can't control her changes and her three mates, the witch who can't cast a spell correctly, the cleaning bear shifter and the bunny shifter who has a good carrot and he knows how to use it.
This was both chaotic and boring, a combination i don't really like. It was mostly character driven, since book one is short and sort of just throws you in the RH shifter romance situation between this girl who shifts into pretty much anything and owns a cafe and her animal shifter mates!!
This second book dives into the dynamic of the characters and their relationship kinda becoming serious and them having to accept each other yada yada yada.
It was a little bit fun though the whole chaos surrounding the fmc!!
It has multiple povs and is not that smutty, it's more on the fluffy humorous cute side, i mean she has a bunny shifter for a mate so yeah, there is that!

Amber: Deja Brew by Mia Harlan is the second installment by Mia Harlan and adds to the growing world that centres around the Jewels Cafe. In this delightful reverse harem, we find Amber fresh from her completing her trio of mates and what follows is a charming glimpse into their lives as they look to find who is sabotaging the Cafe right when a developer puts in an offer. Add to that, Amber's talent for shifting into...everything, trolls included and well those sexy mates of hers and you have a hit!!!
This book was a hot mess. The storyline was all over the place, so much was going on, they all acted like hormonal teenagers most of the time with the same emotional capacity. The writing and conversations were juvenile most of the time as well. Even with all of that, I was highly entertained. I laughed and smiled most of the book. Reading this required zero thought, it was a total escape. Minerva is still an arse, Amber is still a mess, and the gigabyte all still in love and sweet as apple pie.
Weird and wacky things are happening in the town of Silver Springs where things really do go bump in the night.
Introducing Book 2 in the tale of Amber.
Amber is a chameleon shifter who can take on the appearance of anyone she's encountered in the past week or so, leading to some wild and crazy adventures. What will Amber's wonky magic have her shift into? The local Troll cop, a mermaid?
A fun and quirky follow up that was a joy to read, laugh out loud funny, a fast and friendly rainy day read. Bring on more Amber!
Mia Harlan gives us a happy, snappy, quirky RH story, that is fun to read!
Amber: Deja Brew, continues the tale of Amber, a chameleon shifter, who is still trying to get control of her life. But now has three mates to juggle, as well as a string of bad luck in her cafe.
I adore these characters and love reading their interactions. Mia provides us with emotions that run from insecurities to the strength you find in love Well done!
Oh I just love Amber and her guys! They are freaking hilarious and just so dang sweet. I knew going into Deja Brew that I would just fall in love all over again. The story jumps right back in after book one with new issues arising in Jewels Cafe. I love the introduction to new characters. I sat here and giggled while my husband looked at me like I was crazy. Those are the best kind of books. I hope to read more about Amber in the future.
I normally try not to say this but book one hooked me from the first word. This was the line and sinker. This was truly one of the best books I've read in a while. Every penny is worth it. I loved it and I love Amber and her amazing, adorable, authentic, (there's more but I did think you want me to go through the alphabet today) guys. 100% recommended. But don't take my word. Read it your self. You'll love it.
This is an amazing read that had me hooked from the second I started reading. It moves along at a nice pace which makes for a great read. You will fall in love with these characters. They are so real that you feel like you have known them forever. The story will grab you and keep reading until the last page is read and then you are needing more. I cannot wait to read more of them and their friends. It is truly an amazing read.
First of all I need to say that I love the title of this sequel. I love a good pun! This sequel expands on everything that made the first book so charming and unique, and even explores the complex change in dynamic when first starting an unexpected four-person relationship. Each of the characters get more developed, and I'd honestly love a third book about their adventures - especially with Julian's family coming to visit! It would also be lovely to get a redemption arc for Minerva.
CHARMING and Delightful look into Amber and her Mens life.
I couldn't stop reading about Amber , I quickly read her books in quick succession, The characters are charming and quirky, As a reader you feel yourself charmed by the characters that are not perfect but are perfect for each other andh just fit together well, I enjoyed looking into there lives and will definitely be reading anymore adventures about Amber and her men.
This story picks up where the first one left off and is filled with new humorous/suspenseful adventures, as well as a whole lot more truths. This short story was truly something else - and I mean that in the best way possible! I laughed out loud, blushed and was kept guessing what would happen next. Amber and her mates story just keeps getting better - and more hilarious! ❤
This was a cute continuation of Amber's story. Having 3 new mates is not easy especially when your cafe is going crazy.
The book had some pretty funny scenes thanks to Juilian and his wonky magic. I really like all of Amber's men they are all so freaking cute. I like that they all found some common ground in this story.
Jewels Cafe owner Amber (FMC) didnt have much luck in first book and in this one she is not much better. With plenty of mishaps happening at the cafe. Burst water pipes, mermaids and bad reviews Amber and her guys Julian, Chase and Wes have to cope with it all. Which they do with the same amount of laughs as book 1. I loved this book as much as the first one. Short but a good read
Just ad good as the first. When thing once again start to go awry at the Jewels cafe Amber and her men have to figure out how to not only fox things but also keep the cafe open. With and impending visit from Julian's family what more could happen.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
First warning, this book will make you laugh. Don't drink and read. A fair warning here. Trust me. I love Amber and her guys. Her inner musings are great and will have you wanting more of that. Someone is trying to sabotage Jewels Cafe. And then the craziness starts. Meeting Karma and having some strange cravings... a well written book with fits of laughter to come your way.
Mia Harlan never ceases to make me laugh my butt off with her words. I absolutely loved reading what happened next for Amber, Julian, Wes, and Chase. Chapter 19 had me in stitches.
If you're looking for a laugh with a whole lot of steam, look no further than Amber: Déja Brew!
Amber and her guys are discovering their path through their relationship. Things begin to go awry in Jewels Cafe, putting their customers and their business in jeopardy. Can they figure out who's behind the problems before their dream is destroyed? Mia Harlan writes a page Turner that will keep you up past your bedtime.
What a cute follow up to Amber(book 1). There is so much going on in such a little time frame, but it works perfectly. The chaos and Julian's spell had my cracking up. I do wish the book included meeting Juli's family, but that's just me imagining how hilarious it would be, lol.
This was such a cute sequel to our first meeting of Amber and her men. It nicely introduced other characters to cross over with other books in the series as well as the Spell Library series. Julian's lie detection/truth spell turned blurt whatever your thing spell was hysterical. I can't wait to read more in the series.
I loved the dialogue in this book, the conversations that Amber had with her mates, and also herself, along with her wonky magic, made me laugh out loud. This book was an easy and enjoyable read. The writing and the world building was great. Amber has 3 different mates and they are all really sweet but they are at the beginning of their relationship and sometimes wires can get crossed.
Amber is second guessing her relationships with her guys when everything starts to go on the fritz. Will they loose the cafe or find the culprit who has cursed their cafe? Mermaids, trolls, unicorns, and tons of water send the group into a whirlwind of fun and drama. Great read.
