The fate of an entire continent rested in my hands. No pressure, right?
Starting with an empty plot of land in the middle of nowhere, I was supposed to build an empire spanning the breadth of the known Realms. I’d overcome a great deal during my short time in this world, but even I wondered if this task was too much for anyone to accomplish.
But the alternative was to stand by and do nothing while endless wars and other tragedies plagued the lands I called home, and that was something I simply couldn’t do. Armed with powerful weapons handed down to us by those who had failed to accomplish this very same goal, my companions and I began paving the way for Arrika’s future.
Yet almost before I could begin, we were set upon by our enemies; those who would see the darkness continue its relentless assault against the very people I sought to protect. With powerful forces lining up against us, it seemed as if my mission was doomed to fail.

There were a few tedious parts throughout the book, but that ending... WOW! That ending totally got me in the feels. I can't wait to see what happens next.
For anyone curious, this series is about a baddass lesbian warrior who finds and bonds with a baby dragon, and gains herself a harem of beautiful, strong women to keep herself and them strong. *growlz*
This series continues to be one wild ride! I felt like I went on the emotional journey with Dreya as she navigated her way through the many secrets that were revealed in this book. I laughed, cried, and raged with her. I look forward to reading the next book in the series and finding out what happens in the dark lands!
Boring and looong. I love big books but not when they are long for no good reason. This book could have been done as a novella. I did enjoyed the first two books in the series but after this borefest I will not be reading the rest.
So I wanted to like this book more but I cant. I enjoyed the previous books and had hoped for this one. The emotional overtone and focus of this book read more like a sappy romance throughout the descriptive sex scenes. This was originally a litrpg but now a romance novel disguised as litrpg. There are some redeeming parts and some good battles but gone are.The more adventuring quests and progression. Much of the book is love and romance plus jealousness followed by some city end empire building. I enjoyed the writing style and the few battles ( which is why 3 stars) but the rest was a viper nest of drama. I also didn't like the power the MC was handed with no work or earning. A bit OP... And I like OK but earned. Not sure I can finish series. On the fence for the next book.
So this book continues in the same vein as the last. Because of her nature, Dreya attracts every female she meets. When she calls the closest realms to her, the elf queen declares that she is Dreya's alone. This causes issues with Tasi and Dreya has to settle things. Then they go to war against the holdouts, forcing them to join her empire.
Unfortunately this book is mostly realm building and very boring. Only the battles are super exciting. The rest is tedious and i personally felt it couldve been skipped.
This book is different than the last 2. It is the Empire foundation book. It's interesting to see how M. Damon Baker has worked everything together to not just create the empire but keep the energy level high. With plot twists you can never imagine, he keeps you very intrigued.
I have no words to describe how much this book made me feel. Just wow. The part by the ending and everything took my by surprised and i cried my heart out. I can’t wait to read more of these!!! I think ill also branch out afterwards and read more by this author!!! Thank you for full filling my love for stories!!
I enjoyed the first two installments of this series. They’re solid, mostly-traditional LitRPG. So I was looking forward to the third book. Unfortunately, this book is decidedly different than the first two. It seemed like half this book involved the various main characters sitting around the proverbial dinner table eating salads and talking about their feelings. And the author falls in the typical “Twilight” trope trap - the feelings are otherworldly, beyond compare, indescribable, yada yada yada. There’s never been love between two people before that compares to the love THESE two people feel, etc. And, hey, if that’s something you enjoy, maybe this book is for you. But for those of us, like myself, who wanted the third book to at least be in the same vein as the first two...yeah, a bit of a letdown.
I’ll probably still read the fourth book simply because I’m so damn invested in the overall plot, but I will continue to skim over the salad eating sections.
This has fastly become of my fav series. One reason because of the story another because there are no mistakes. No wrong words or misspellings. Well at least until this book, I believe there were 4. Aside from that, my only downside is often things are repeated like when tasi massages dreya’s back, the water flowing bit etc... however that is minor. The characters have all taken on a life of their own. Every one of them in my mind when reading have a history and background that comes to life. The emotional ending along with dreya’s kick butt display after the explosion was a high and a low emotionally. I can’t wait for the next story! Now the next part might have a few spoilers.... I wish dreya would have said to venna that if she raised tasi she would have lost stel and her. Also the goddess told liane to stay with dreya but there is no mention of it. Also the character sheet at the end has full aura yet there are three elementals back in the realm. I think that must have been an error. I'm liking the goddess having a bigger role. Also since the realm is supposed to be about tolerance why does dreya have to hide who she is? She consistently does not give her people credit and she is sintari so why isn't she embracing that one aspect? You cannot ask for tolerance then hide and expect everything to be ok. I think dreya needs more points in wisdom! The last parts are my thoughts and not complaints, I feel like I am connected to the sintari and if another book doesn't come out soon, I will slowly wither away...
With this review I attempt the opposite of this book, and keep things brief and on point. Pros: - 20% interesting content. Buried deep within this tome are a few gems. The two stars are for that. Cons: - Monotonous dialog. - Love scenes are blurry, indistinct, and monotonous. - MC’s inner dialog about distress of having a harem was beyond tiresome. - The details of the Empire building are extremely tedious. Felt like the only details left out were office supply purchases and choosing the pattern for imperial toilet tissue. - Numerous typos. Some of the editing issues have to be due to the word count making edits tedious.
I greatly enjoyed the first in the series. By the and of the previous installment I was dreading where the story and writing style were headed. Unfortunately the foreshadowing held true, and this installment delivered much of what I dreaded would come to pass.
This is one of my longest reviews, and it can only begin to give you a sense of what lies ahead for those choosing an attempt of the slog through the book.
I hate trying to write reviews because there are really only pass/fail results for me. Did I make it all the way through? Yes? 5 stars. No? There would be nothing here to read. In all fairness, if an author holds my attention from page one to the end, they’ve done their job. Anything less than 5 stars is petty criticism from someone incapable of even doing the job let alone doing a better one.
So in respect for the author and their work, I am going to start pasting this along with a generic review I found somewhere. “This was a fun book. I am glad that I read it. You should try it too.”
I am going to disagree with some previous reviewer. Yes, this book was not as action-packed as the previous two books, but I feel I understood more about the MC and her relationships. I think the first two books spent a bit too much time on teh LitRPG aspects and I felt I could not get through a score of pages without seeing the MC's stat pages. While definitely a main part of LitRPG, I think it is sometime bewildering and I started skipping those parts. This book had less of that, and focused on internal character development. I give this a solid 4.5 stars.
This series has completely captivated me from the beginning. I absolutely love D and all her friends. This book not only has so much character development - that makes me love them even more - but some awesome battles inbetween. I thoroughly enjoyed watching D build up her empire from nothing. I laughed, I cried, I was angry and annoyed, the emotions just consume you with this novel. I can not wait for the next installment.
Tasi means ocean in Guam, and it was cleverly done to make her a water elemental. (Also My kid’s name). This story of a guy turned into a gal is mostly a good story. I don’t like the harem, girly feelings, and the adulterous affair with a good friend. Nonetheless I can’t quit reading this story.
I have really enjoyed how this series has grown. This book takes a turn from a group adventure to empire building. It is a differenterent type of LitRPG. Cannot wait to read the next book and see how the series grows.
Twist and turns!! Love the premise , character development , and surprises . The game mechanics are fun and only add to the suspense. Can't wait for book 4
