Psychic Copeland Forbes is still recovering from a gunshot wound that nearly ended his life. Back at work for the first time since the shooting, Jude and Cope interview a potential client who claims he’s being haunted by an ex-boyfriend. A man, they discover, that is missing and presumed dead. Making matters worse, Cope can’t connect with the man’s spirit.

Ghost Detective Jude Byrne is torn between working the case and insisting Cope stay home to recover. After almost losing him once, Jude doesn’t want to take any chances with the second chance they have been given.

As the suspect list continues to grow, so do incidences of phantom chest pains for Cope. Convinced he’s not crazy, Cope enlists the help of Madam Aurora to make contact with the reticent spirit.

Can Jude and Cope find the killer or will the next ghost pain finish what Cope’s gunman started?

In this latest addition to an awesome series, we have Cope who is recovering from the gunshot wound he received in the last book. He has some major worried associated with that injury, one being he just doesn't have any cares about anything. It's like he just crawled into himself and didn't want anything to do with anyone or anything. Jude is worried sick about Cope and is kind of smothering. How could he not, he is so totally head over heals in love with Cope that he would do anything to make things better and get Cope recuperated. Cope has as series of debilitating chest pains that feel like either he had been shot again or is having a heart attack. At a visit to the e/r, the on-call doctor does a nasty thing shoots him up full of drugs because he thinks he is being delusional. I really would have liked to have seen him punished. Oh and I was so very happy that Jude found what was sort-of lost to him in the last book. That made me so very happy!!! So as Cope is starting to come back to Jude and the outside world, a new case is brought to them. A man is being haunted by who he believes is his ex but didn't know he was dead. It turns out that he is missing and presumed dead. The ghost doesn't want to talk to Cope & he is worried about his abilities. With the help of the entire crew, they finally get to the bottom of what is going on with the ghost and what happened to him. I thought it was one thing but it turned out to be a combination of things and I really enjoyed it. I'm glad that the boys are back on track by the end of the book. We also have the banter and love, not only from each but from their entire family, that we have grown to expect/crave/want in each book. I hope these series are around for a very long time.

What can I say? I just completed book six in the Haunted Souls series and I am gonna be one of those annoying readers and demand..."When will book seven be ready, Pandora!?" OMFG, Ghost Pain was awesome and it brought to light so much that was missing in Cope's and Jude's tale. This book brought the men so much closer and got them to understand, not only themselves, but their relationship.

And when I say twists and turns, I mean, what the ever loving hell!!! I didn't know who to accuse [good one Pandora]. The story telling was fabulous and I am going to be cliche and say this is the best one yet. As much as I enjoyed the other books, this one had me hook, line and sinker. A real mystery and good coming together of all the guys to solve the case.

For those of you who delve into the book, there is another question I need answered, and you may or may not understand. But I am one of those people who like my presents wrapped up in bows [not that I subscribe to presents, LOL].

Good job Pandora on making this an enjoyable book.

This was a really good book and I particularly adored spending time with Cope, Jude, and the gang, (as always), but the whole Jacoby/Lucien storyline dragged for me :-/ ... perhaps because I was really bummed for him!! Lucien was a sweetheart (!!), but what dragged for me was the whole Jacoby thing ... could not stand him!!! I wonder if there is any chance this author will write a book for Lucien as a ghost ... it'd be awesome for him to get love and a glorious HEA!!!!

Vengeance

Psychic Copeland Forbes is still recovering from dying at the hands of his ex. The first case back to work with Ghost Detective Jude Byrne is a man who claims he’s being haunted by an ex-boyfriend. Unfortunately Cope can’t connect with the man’s spirit to ask what's going on.

Jude is still suffering from seeing his man die, and when Cope suffers phantom chest pains that mimics a heart attack, he is unsure whether it is related to the case. He just wants to keep Cope safe.

As it becomes clear the spirit has an agenda, it will take all Cope and Jude's skill along with their friends to reach a satisfactory conclusion.

Cope, Jude and the gang ride again in another thrilling Free Kindle Unlimited story in the Haunted Souls series.

After Cope and Jude return from New Orleans, they know Cope has some decent recovery to do. Suddenly Cope is faced with excruitating pain in the exact same spot of his gunshot wound. Jude sure he is having a heart attack calls 911 and Cope is rushed to the hospital. It's not a heart attack but something else, no one is sure of. Also Cope and Jude are asked to help a man who is haunted by his ex-boyfriend. It's a very violent haunting and the ghost refuses to talk to anyone, so getting to the bottom of it, is going to be difficult. This is a challenge to all involved, and made both Jude and Cope come to terms with some of their pasts. This was a really good story.

4 stars. I might have rated it higher, but I’m really tired of Copes constant whining. The mystery is solid with several of possible suspects. A ghost with an axe togrind, only he cn’t remember why. When he returned to the mortal plane from the light (Heaven) his memories got wiped. It’s up to Cope, Jude, and the gang to figure out why the ghost came back in the first place and hopefully get his remains found so that he can return to the light in peace. The story unfolds naturally and the conclusion was more than satisfactory.

Jude and Cope are back, and I was so glad. After the drama of the last book, I needed to see Cope move on and heal. I love these characters (and really the whole cast of characters from the Cold Case world), and I can't get enough. The mystery was great, the relationship was strengthened, and the characters continue to grow. It does seem weird at times to see Jude so lovey after his past, but weird in a great way. I love seeing him open his heart to Cope. Love these guys.

*WARNING*intended for mature audiences
Beware, this one has a cliffhanger ending and it's A doozy!! After reading this one, I immediately downloaded the next one. These characters have a tight family bond, even though none of them share DNA (other than the Craig brothers). I like the tightness in the characters. I like the twists and turns in the plot. I like that the crimes are anything but normal, cut and dried stuff.

Lost and confused

Lucian needs help and the only one he know who can help is the man who was brought back to life. Cope and Jude are trying to recover from Cope's near death. He has a second chance at life but is having difficulty figuring out how to live it. With a new case coming in Cope finds a kindred spirit in Lucian. With no reflection to how he died the team comes together to find out who killed him, where his remains are and to bring him home. Emotional and sad!

Needed proofreading!

Ghost Pain was really good and I enjoyed it a lot but the endless errors were very distracting. Most of the gang were here to help Jude and Cope (thankfully Cope wasn't anywhere near as annoying as in the previous book!). My favourite character was Lucien. Poor Lucien - I really felt for him. In fact, I'll say no more because of spoilers!!🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐

Things left unfinished

Life never goes smoothly for Jace and Cope, when they want peace and rest it goes the other way. They are strong together and soooo in love. That’s what brings them through everything.

I couldn't put it down!! Another crackin' case for Jude and Cope!!

I love the world Pandora's created and everyone at West Side Magick and Jude and Cope just keep getting better. Now I'm going to preface this and say I haven't read all of the Haunted Souls series or all of the Cold Case Psychic series (yet) but I've read enough to know and love the all characters and know whose who of West Side Magick. So in saying that I have only read books 1 & 2 of Haunted Souls, so I didn't know what happened to Cope and the circumstances surrounding the case in which he gets shot in the chest. Thankfully Pandora gives you enough of an explanation as the story goes on that I wasn't really that lost. I know and love al the characters so I feel that is to my advantage.

Now onto this story, and boy what a story it is!!! As good as ever, I was on the edge of my seat to know what would happen next. I think this story links heavily to the events of book 5 in that it's all about healing for Jude and Cope, both physically, emotionally and psychically. For most of the book, we are with Cope (and Jude) and how he is recovering from basically dying. Cope is trying to reconnect with his powers and heal from his past. The case they take on was thrilling and paralleled Cope's past a little too closely that in made it even harder for Cope to heal and communicate with the ghost hitchhiker, Lucien. I was caught up in the case and the twists and turns from the start. I did, however, feel like the climax of the case was somewhat twisted and a little confusingly a little anticlimactic with how the case came to Jude and Cope in the first place. All in all, I still loved it and still love all the characters. I need to catch up on the series and find out how and when Jude and Cope got engaged.

Extra note: OMG, Pandora! The epilogue had me on the edge of my seat and I'm chomping at the bit for book 7. This is turning out to be a fantastic series and just as good as Cold Case Psychics! I'm loving it all! I can't wait to find out more about Jude's past and Wolf in Book 7!!!

**4.5**
There's a hard start to this story as Copeland is still recovering from an injury that he sustained at the end of Ghost of a Chance. Jude is fretting whilst Cope just wants to get back to how things were. Unfortunately, things never turn out that way as cope starts getting excruciating chest pain at random times with no explanation. The Salem family really comes together in force as they rally round to show support and help however they can in finding a solution or even just information. The human and ghost elements blend so well together that you can never really tell the difference.
However this is a truly hard case that makes the couple/detective duo feel pushed up against the wall with nothing helping. It brings up feelings that Cope has from his history with his ex-lover/stalker but also helps him relate really well to one of the characters involved.
Overall, this is another fantastic addition to the Haunted Souls series. We get interaction with all of our favourite characters and couples, get to see more of the extremely important friendship that has blossomed and set between Jude and Ronan, seeing again how important Ronan was whilst Cope was seriously injured. The plot and story is at times frustrating as we have no idea what is happening or why with several false leads and chasing of their tails but the way that everything links together is so interesting and well thought by Pandora.
I do have to say though, it's very possible my favourite part of the whole book may be the epilogue and the set up for book seven!
Yet another recommended read from this series and author. This is a series I would say you have to read in order as character/relationship development is clear throughout the series.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

**********Contains Spoilers**********

Wow, I really loved this book. I love Cope and Jude, and it’s awesome to see how far Jude has come, and seems to be growing with each book. Jude destroys the wall in his mind and gets back in touch with his Navajo roots, connects with his totem animal, his Phoenix and it’s such a emotionally and heartwarming moment and you can totally feel Jude’s happiness that they’re connected again after so long shutting off his gifts. The case that Cope & Jude were requested to look into had a lot more twists than you’d expect. It required more standard police work than the use of Cope’s psychic abilities since Cope couldn’t get in touch with Lucien Gates’s spirit. Lucien hitchhiked with Cope after his near death experience in New Orleans when he was shot by Deacon/ Lucien felt like he had an unfinished task so he didn’t go into the light but Lucien can’t remember what the task is. The case brought up a lot of strong feelings for Cope as Lucien went through similar torment while living as what Cope has been through. I felt so sorry for both Lucien and Weston but would be really happy if Weston gets his happily ever after like Lucien suggested. I’m glad Jacoby finally grew a pair but was just a little too late. I can’t wait to see what happens next after reading the epilogue. I’d recommend this book, series and author to anyone.

I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Cope and Jude are such a cute couple. I love the way they interact with each other. The amazing group of friends or should I say family that they have surrounded themselves with is enviable. It is a life goal to have such a support system.

Now to talk more about the story, Cope is recovering from his gun shot wound and Jude is hovering like a mother hen :) There is banter, love, acceptance and hope throughout this book with a dash of murder mystery thrown in for entertainment. This story dredges up memories for Cope and we get to see another glimpse into Cope's past. Each installment of this series further develops the main characters and has an exceptional plot line. These stories are everything you could wish for - romance, family and some spice thrown together with a believable intriguing plot line.

I could not put this book down and read it in one sitting. That's saying a lot these days as I am a grad student. Don't miss this new installment of Jude and Cope take on ghosts and more.

Ghost Pain is the sixth book in the Haunted Souls series by Pandora Pine. Cope is still recovering from the previous events and the gunshot wound that almost took his life. Being at home has gotten to be too stagnant and stiffling. So it's back to the working grind for Cope and Jude, and the strange world that they live and work in. But letting his love go back into the line of danger is not easy for Jude... he he doesnt even know about the phantom chest pains Cope is hiding from him. But then when a client comes in with a new paranormal for the duo, more suspense, mystery and fun (for us readers) is bound to occur.

I love this series and am addicted to reading about these characters. The book is very well written, with a plot that captures your interest and holds it. These characters have weaved their way into my heart. Jude and Cope are such amazing characters - interesting, entertaining and well developed. This story gives us another case to read, on the edge of our seats, waiting to see just how crazy and sometimes dangerous, the ghost world can be to us living. I cant wait for the next case.
