In early 1998 Alex the Pirate and Diego are running contraband into Vietnam in fleets of tongkang boats, using the gunboat Tiger for defense against other pirates. When they least suspect it, they are attacked by their arch-enemy, the Frenchman. How dare he attack Alex’s shipments? The Frenchman raids their village at Kampung Bharu, destroying boats and killing many. What can Alex do? He vows to have revenge and leads the coastal smugglers in a convoy for retribution.

Raging Tiger: The Modern Pirate Series has been a Long journey through four short novels! I WILL WARN THERE WILL BE SPOILERS IN THIS REVIEW! In this series there are two main characters Alex and Diego. These men have rough pasta and have chosen a rough occupation. They pirate through rough waters and have a nemesis named the Frenchman. We learn more about the Frenchman in this novel, his family, and why he is called the Frenchman. There has been blood and hate between “ The Frenchman “ and “the pirate “ from the beginning and in this book it finally comes to a head. In the finalization of their “ war” there are of course casualties. The one thing in the book, and the reason I could not give it a five star. In the book the two main characters have girlfriends and as a reader I was going on the romantic journey Alex and Choma had. The author made her such an importance for Alex it broke my heart when she was killed. I cried for that character and her dream of having a baby! The Ending was very nice and tied it together for more adventures thAt I do long to read about ; however they won’t be the same with out her. That being said maybe a new love interest will come in another book to come. I would highly recommend this series to anyone looking for a good adventure! I would say like the series “Game of Thrones “ expect the unexpected and don’t get too attached to any characters !
The next installment in the Modern Pirate series, this book carries on the interesting adventures of Alex and Diego aboard the Tiger. The authenticity of these stories makes them so enjoyable! From the descriptions of engine difficulties to the use of the firepower involved, the author imbues all these tales with a gritty, realistic and very believable quality. Both of the main characters are completely plausible, guys you might meet on a dock anywhere. They're complex and compelling, leading the reader on in a gripping story of how real modern pirates might live. If you're looking for a quick read that's compelling and realistic, here's your answer!
