Very short piece about a mother looking for her lost son, and some memorably unusual aliens. Decent world-building for the length.

Not a bad story, and it does at least have an interesting idea: the ventiforms themselves. But they are weirdly not the focus, and the thing that is the focus - the protagonist's relationship with her son - just isn't very interesting. There's also a lot of padding in here, and I think that makes it a far less satisfying read.
