Deadly Reality TV #2

Deadly Reality TV Series Book #2 Pain For Gain

Rate this book
This is the second book in The Deadly Reality TV Series. This book can be read as a standalone, but is much better after reading the first book in the series.
The story follows the life of Damon Dahmer. After his reality pain game show 'Easy Money' was cancelled, he returns to work and finds out that there's another producer trying to take his job. There's a new reality pain game show called 'Pain for Gain', and Damon must either learn to work with this new producer, or find a way to get rid of him.
Meanwhile, Damon gets lonely and decides to have his girlfriend move in with him.
This book is for ages 18+. There is more gore and violence in this book than the first in the series. Not for the faint of heart. Viewer (reading) discretion is advised
'Pain for Gain' the only show on that television that pays people to get hurt.

Damon the Psycho is relentless 🔪🙅‍♀️!!

This is the second book in the Pain For Gain series and I enjoyed it as much as the first one. Damon is so cold and calculated. He's what nightmares are made of.

Once again the author has a straight forward way of writing that moves the story along quickly.

A gory, fast, and fun read. 5 ⭐ !

Just a couple days ago I devoured book one in this series and loved the gory goodness! The author was kind enough to gift me the next in the series and I couldn't help myself and devoured this one as well... it's just so easy to do!

Now that Easy Money has been canceled, the network decided to try a safer, less shocking game show called Pain for Gain (and I have to agree with Damon, Easy Money is a MUCH better name!). Of course, it doesn't do as well so heeeeeeere's Damon.. back again with Mary (basically his conscious.. but not really) and a new producer he doesn't quite get along with (shocker). Meanwhile, on the back side, Damon is almost turning human and takes in Destiny... his muse of sorts and we get to learn a little bit more about her.

Now listen, these are novellas so I don't expect deep dives into character builds or a huge "world build"... this is purely entertainment. I'm not sure if it's because I JUST read the first one that this one didn't quite give me that "shock" value that the first one did or I'm just easily numbed to it now that it didn't hold quit that punch factor. This time I was paying more attention to the writing and story lines and while at times the writing felt "stiff" or formal (lack of contractions which made some of the dialogue feel off for the situations), it absolutely did not take away from the fun I had in reading about this new game.

What can I say? I'm a sucker for these types of reads. I'm very intrigued with Caummisar's mind and where she will take us in book three - because you know damn well I'll be reading it.

The things I didn’t like about the first book are still here. The writing feels like it’s been translated to English with some of the story lost in translation. That’s the best way I can describe it I guess. I gave the book a higher rating though because I do like the story better now, but not by much. Still enjoy the weird games though, even if some of the decisions are still kind of dumb. Like why would a meat slicer game give more money than drilling into your hand. One is going to heal way better than the other lol.

At the time of review, this was my favorite thing - ever. I was in a hotel, I had nothing to tear my attention away, I even found the author and that's the first time we chatted. Do you think I WOULDN'T post a review?

Ouch! While the tv series gets (mostly) tamer, the damage Damon does gets turned up to 11. ( There are some places garden sears just shouldn’t go! 😮 ) If you thought Damon had issues in the first book, just wait til you see what he is up to now. He really lets loose after work hours. The author seems to have an endless supply of ways for someone to get injured, and I give a big thumbs up for coming up with some amusing methods. And I have to say, the injury with the meat slicer was a nice touch.

In book 2, you see much more torture for sexual reasons. More sexual activity. More injury to genitalia. We see a little bit of this in the first book, but Damon amps up the sexual side of his hobby along with his violent behavior.

Pain for Gain was entertaining, but not as good as Easy Money. One of the problems was that it felt a little too slow sometimes. It was kind of hard to put my finger on why, exactly. The pacing was just… off somehow. I think part of that had to do with the editing not being as tight in this book. Typeos and errors happen to all of us, but when there are a lot of them…. it kind of takes you out of the story some, you know what I mean? I think if Pain for Gain got another pass through editing, the flow and pacing would be improved.

I really liked the cliffhanger at the end! Did not see it coming at all. It set the stage for a really interesting plot for book 3, Hurt Bank. I couldn’t wait to see what that meant for Damon and what was going to happen next. It made me want to get started immediately on the next book.

Pain for Gain was entertaining but not as good as book one. Tamer show but Damon turns up the heat on his on personal playtime. Pacing had some problems and the editing was not as tight as the first book. I had fun reading Pain for Gain and the interesting cliff hanger left me so curious about where book 3 was going to go.

Honest to goodness...it's like watching a train wreck. The scene is gruesome, gory, stomach turning and graphic but YOU CAN'T STOP LOOKING.

Gawd.

This is one sick series. I finished book one and was missing a sense of closure. As a result, I had to download and continue the story with book number two. Book number two was surprisingly better. This is generally unheard of from me. I find the first book in a series is always the strongest and the latter ones don't always measure up.

In Pain for Gain, the character development was a bit stronger and the storyline continues effortlessly from book one "Easy Money". I would personally suggest reading these books in order instead of this as a stand alone. It will make much more sense and put things into perspective.

The book is short and therefore, does feel rushed and again, the ending was abrupt. I think this is the tactic of the author to make me want to download the next book in the series. The violence is heavy in this series, not for the faint of heart. At one point I screamed out loud it was so gross. It makes you cringe. I don't even like it!

But yeah..still....going to go download book three now. Sigh. * slowly shakes head * What kind of monster am I becoming?

I'll give it a 3.75 stars and round up to 4 for good reads rating.

After reading book 1 of this series I immediately launched in to book 2, not sure if I’m a glutton for punishment or just really enjoy dark humor! I recommend reading part 1 prior to reading this book so you have a better understanding of people are. This book seems to get even darker than the first one as Damon isn’t impressed with the newcomer who he thinks is after his job. Damon also tries to move on with his life as best he can with his girlfriend. The author is very consistent in these two books and both are well written with interesting characters. Can’t wait for the third book in the series to see where the author is taking us and Damon next and who he has lined up to experience pain for ratings this time!

Welcomed back into the studio Damon is now producing a new show with Mary, and William. Will it be as successful as Easy Money? How will the three of them get along? Will he find a way to make the game show his own again?

Damon is driven more and more by the excitement of pain and blood.

Damon interest in Destiny takes a different turn. He cleans her up, fixes her teeth and moves her in. Can he trust her to keep his secrets?

Onto book #3 Hurt Bank. Can’t wait to devour it!!

These are extreme books, as all of Sea’s are.

Damon, Damon, Damon

I wanted Damon and Destiny to work out - he cleaned her up versus taking her out - he took her in and gave her an easy life by becoming a boyfriend to her and she chose Mary over him. I can understand why she ran away but she is being ungrateful. I'm interested in seeing who Mr. Cyber is and what his proposition is. This new show will be interesting!!!! On to book 3!

Another chance of earning prize money but this time they will have a partner. They will have to cause their partner pain to win, the worse the pain the more money they will receive if they win. Just how vital will it get? Follow them.to see

Excellent

After reading the first book this book is much better. The storyline continues but more is happening and there are more twists to it. The blood and gore are great too and you can actually imagine how much pain they are in and even question of you would do it. I'm off to read the next book in the series hopefully it's as good as this one as it can't get much better!

This is my 9th book by Sea and she’s a new fabulous favorite author of mine now. This lady’s imagination is outstanding. Damon and Mary turned into an accomplished team and William really was boring. Funny despite Damon’s sickness, I’ve grown to like him. When he takes Destiny to rehab I thought for sure there was hope. When she leaves him, he falls off the edge he was balancing on. Also the final show with the nail in his foot, I think that’d be rather easy for the grand prize. Ive stepped on a horseshoe nail and pulled the whole bloody thing back out. It wasn’t as bad as slamming a finger in a door. The nails in Bambi’s knees, now that hurt. Made me cringe. The clit jewelry…o.m.g.
I can’t wait to read the next book.

This was a continuation of book 1 of the Deadly Reality TV series. The original show was canceled, and a newer tamer show was added. Damon's pain fetish becomes worse, and this gets a little more intense. My wife and I listened to this on Spotify, and it made our evacuation trip more tolerable. I still highly recommend it.
