Joni’s paralysis has given her the wisdom to speak about eternity in beautiful ways. Filled with child-like faith, her book is filled with vignettes of meaningful encounters and encouragement.
Loved these short little life stories from Joni, what a testament she is to those around her and to those who read her words. Made me take a step back and once again look around at what's important and to always be ready for people God puts in our paths to tell the amazing news of Jesus!
I listened to the audiobook, which was narrated by the author. This book was so sweet and refreshing! Mrs. Earekson Tada seems to have such a sweet and intimate relationship with Christ and the sweetness comes through in her voice, writing, and even singing. Yes! She actually sings in various places of the audiobook. I think the actual book has illustrations of Joni’s paintings and I am tempted to purchase both the audiobook and a hard copy of the book.
This devotional is anecdotal, more inspirational than doctrinal. I did enjoy learning more about Joni’s personal life, and she tied her stories to some sort of spiritual application. I enjoyed the artwork by the author.
Someone gave this to me as a gift and her story/faith are inspiring. Some great nuggets, though I don’t love this style of book (think chicken soup for the soul).
Joni's brief essays on this topic stem from having spent forty years in a wheelchair, paralyzed from the neck down due to a swimming accident when she was 17. In her introduction she writes, "My wheelchair has shown me that the path to holiness is not an easy journey...but it's the right, no, the righteous, one." She promises "that path will have you encountering God where you least expect Him: among the most unlikely people in the most hidden places." This little devotional book offers help in finding encouragement and comfort by training your eyes to see God's work everywhere you look. Read it for self help, and then pass it on to a friend who needs to do likewise.

Beautiful short stories written by Joni about precious moments in her life. Her story reminds me to how much I have to be thankful for both spiritually and physically.
This book is a hidden gem. I received it years ago as part of the ministry of Joni and Friends, and I remember the stories being pithy yet impactful. I had resolved that I would read this again, and here I am doing exactly that. It's not deep theology or strongly didactic if you're looking for that. It's simply the stories and reflections of a woman who has suffered much and learned to see God's work in her life. Her stories are relatable and her perspectives are impactful. They direct us to see life in a more godly perspective. I would commend this book to anyone looking for a short devotional.
