Souls Collide
Beauty, brains, and money. Alexa has it all, and luck is her middle name. She’s the first to defend her family and friends and never needs help in return. Men fall at her feet—except the abrasive police officer Kent, who seems to despise her. But a series of strange events punctures her protective bubble, exposing her to fear and self-doubt. She doesn’t know who she should be more afraid of, her unknown pursuer or the sudden protective, softer side of the officer.
Kent has watched the women he loves the most in his life suffer unbearably, unable to save them himself, and now he refuses to get close to anybody. To most people, he’s a heartless, angry cop without a soft interior. Until one stormy day, fate teases him with a warm ray of Alexa’s sunshine, melting a piece of his icy heart. Kent believes he hates her, but when her brightness dims, his hate turns into something else. Something he refuses to let another person take away from him, especially the stranger lurking in the shadows.
Kristina Beck was born and raised in New Jersey, USA, and lived there for thirty years. She later moved to Germany and lives there with her German husband and three children. She is an avid reader of many genres, but romance always takes precedence. She loves coffee, dark chocolate, power naps, and eighties movies. Her hobbies include writing, reading, fitness, and forever trying to improve her German-language skills.
The first book in the Collide Series, Lives Collide, is...wonderful. It's emotional and beautiful and it's almost a hybrid of romance and women's fiction, giving it a depth you might not expect. Whether or not you believe in things like fate and destiny, Beck's story makes you want to believe and root/hope for the best.
Dreams Collide is the next book and it was equally engaging. I loved the idea of Tina putting her dreams on hold and all the emotional baggage that comes from trying to shed the impulse and go after what she wanted. This drove the story for me and kept me interested.
Souls Collide is Alexa & Kent's story. It was fascinating and engaging. I didn't connect as much with the characters but maybe it's because I was so blown away by book 1 and 2. The story is solidly written and the unexplained events that bring them together will keep you interested as the story unfolds.
Ok had to rewrite this. I got confused about part one and part two. Thought it was too separate books
Reading this after just losing my dad allowed me to finally cry and get some emotions out. A roller coaster of emotions and I can’t wait to read book two.
Dreams collide 5 stars
This one I like it better than the first! Another emotional roller coaster that in parts had my eyes leaking water, and my heart aching a wee bit. Going in to book 3!
Souls collide 5 stars
Wow just wow!! This is by far the best book of the series. I guess the author truly saved the best for last. While it drove me crazy wanting to get to the and see if I was right, the emotional rollercoaster was in full effect. Wish it was tied up a little neater though about what happened with crazykins.
The stories and wonderful characters gripped me from the first chapter and I didn't want to stop reading! The universe works in mysterious ways and I love the way Kristina portrays these deeply emotive, parallel lives and circumstances with such compassion. I lost count how many times I cried!
There were quite a few twists which kept me turning the pages in all 3 books. The series' has a wittiness throughout which I absolutely loved!
Kristina, has a talent for writing about difficult, heart wrenching issues with love and compassion. The undercurrent of suspense that flows throughout book 3 kept me turning the pages, inquisitive as to what was going on.
Thoroughly enjoyed this series. Found that I enjoyed parts of the series more than others individually but collectively they just tit . What made the series particularly good was the way the author brought characters in from other stories along the way, tying up any untidy details and ensuring the reader knows how all the pieces mesh. I especially enjoyed the way the author built Alexa and Kent's story. Adding suspense to the already angst-filled plot finished off the series on a particularly interesting note.
I struggled to get through the first book, the lack of emotion in the pages made for a stagnant, and frankly boring book. The sentences were very short, the conversations felt forced and the chemistry was not great. But I put it down to just getting used to a new author or writing style and trudged on to the next book. That one was better. The characters had a bit more personality about them and the words flowed a bit better, but it was still only OK. So I didn't not continue on to the third book.
