Is this dog too famous for her own good? Find out in the newest Puppy Patrol adventure!
Molly's not just any dog. She's the pampered pooch of a famous rock star - and she's coming to stay at King Street Kennels!
Photographers, journalists, and TV crews are in hot pursuit of the perky puppy. Neil soon finds himself in the spotlight when Molly discovers a perfect place to hide from her fans, a place where no one will ever find her!
Prolific author of animals stories for younger children, in particular dog and cat stories. As well as a Puppy Tales and Kitten Tales series she has written the Pony Tales series of pony books.
There is some speculation that the author does not actually exist but is a psuedonym for another author or authors. One author mentioned as writing under the name of Jenny Dale is Liss Norton, who incidentally is also said to be one of the ghostwriters for the Lucy Daniels Animal Ark series.
Super fun story about kids who have to take care of a pop star's rambunctious puppy. There's apparently nonstop action at King Street Kennels. I remember finding this super entertaining as a kid.
Reading over it again as an adult, I'm struck by how English it is. Even if it wasn't explicit, it would've been easy to pick up just from the dialogue by approximately page 3. I don't remember taking note of that as a child, but I should've, as a tiny Anglophile raised on Lewis and Tolkien.
Honestly, my main issue is that there are so! many! adverbs! I could almost feel my old writing profs cringing as I read - every "said" is followed by an unnecessary "angrily" or "hastily" or whatever to the point where it got distracting. 2/10 for teaching little ones style, but good marks for plot.
Neil's parents inherit a large sum of money and go off to decide whether or not to keep the rescue. Meanwhile a celebrity drops off her puppy, which is a little naughty and runs away into a cave, putting Neil's life at risk. Kids who are into celebrity might like it and relate to the kids who break in to the rescue, but otherwise it was kind of a boring read.
Lovely book for animal-mad children. My daughter read the whole Puppy Patrol series and wasn't disappointed in any of them. A warning though - the one about the Red Setter is very sad. That's the only one though.
