An absolute must for anyone teaching Macbeth. I have never studied or taught it and now feel really confident for the term ahead. Lots of practical resources and well linked ideas throughout. Thank you!
I borrowed a copy of this from a colleague as I was teaching Macbeth for the first time on my PGCE. It is a great source of material, with great analysis and tips to teach the play. I especially liked how it kept coming back to the idea of the Big Questions as it was easier to aid students' understanding of plot and characters. Something I will definitely continue to refer to and build from.
So I'm doing my GCSE'S for Macbeth and decided to get this book to provide alternate interpretations. And let me tell u ... this helped me SO MUCH. It gave me alternative comments that I never would have thought if and yes, my teacher was impressed. It lays out the info. In such an easy way to understand and provides revision activities too. There are bits in here that are pretty much only useful to teachers but I just skipped these. After using this book my script was packed with higher level annotations. Please get this, it's so good. This saved my grades
This book is a nice supplementary guide to anyone who is teaching Macbeth or simply wants to know more about the play. It covers the essential points and, at times, adds to the generic reading that most of us readers could spot on our own. There are also many suggestions and materials for teachers at the end of each unit—worth recommending.
This is a fantastic read full of excellent information on both the text and the pedagogy of teaching it. The style is very easy to read and there are a variety of excellent resources which accompany it.
Even if you've taught Macbeth before - like me when I read this - honestly it provides so much information and useful teaching strategies and approaches. Cannot recommend this enough.
This book is a MUST READ for English teachers, I relied on this whilst teaching Macbeth for the first time and this content is brilliant and accessible!
