Hunting demons should be a walk in the park, right?
Fallow Caramond, a powerful enchantress and leader of the secret supernatural demon hunters of London—the Kouzlo—is new in her role. Though she has a Djinni and two Fire Elementals in her employ, keeping her territory clear of the parasitic creatures that plague them is hard work.
When a mysterious force begins attacking the nearby town of Fernhampton, she grudgingly investigates, unwilling to admit this strangely familiar power is demonic.
Faced with a rift to another world, she must confront the demons of her past—figuratively and literally. But this threat is unlike anything they’ve ever encountered, and with their magic at risk of being drained, it becomes not just a battle to win—but a race for the Kouzlo to survive Pandemonium.
A prequel novella set 15 years before the events of Crimson Eyes, Pandemonium Rift is an action-packed first step into the demon-hunting series: The Kouzlo Saga.
Hello fellow book dragon! Thank you for visiting my author page. :)
My name is Lauren, I'm a fantasy author of character-driven stories and epic adventure. My books usually contain dragons, rarely feature romance, and are typically fun and hopeful.
I have a degree in Psychology and a fascination with MBTI (I'm an INFJ!). I'm a petrol head and thalassophile, and adore castles, sunshine, and dragons. I've always lost myself in fantasy worlds, and it's been an incredible achievement to publish my own.
If you send a friend request and we don't have any similar interests or books in common, I'll probably decline. Feel free to follow me, though.

Pandemonium rift is one of those prequels that not only redefines characters you already think you know from the series but adds to your knowledge of the world and the characters in it.
I read this after the first four novels in the Kouzlo Saga, and I thought I knew what I was getting into. I thought I knew what to expect of the world and the Kouzlo. After the events of book four I didn't think there was more for me to learn about Fallow and her actions but Pandemonium rift gives more background and motivation to Fallow's character and that of the Kouzlo we meet at Caramond House.
We see how the characters have grown in such a short space of time (15 years is nothing to someone who has been around for centuries) and why they act as they do in the other novels. I hope we get to see more novellas like this based in the Kouzlo universe.
