Naki has walked this earth long enough and was tired of having no contact with others but her family. She had decided that she has lived long enough life without the touch of another. Naki was ready to move on to the next life, praying to the Gods; it would be better.
That was until something started to hunt her people and she wouldn’t stand by while innocent shifters were hurt or killed. What she didn’t expect was meeting a Hunter who she was taught was the enemy. What Naki didn’t understand was the way this Hunter made her feel, but could she trust him? Naki knew something was killing her people, but she didn’t want to believe that this Hunter was the enemy she had been warned about.
Joziah is a Hunter. His job is to hunt down whatever and whoever is breaking the laws of the supernatural world. That isn’t the only job that he was put on this earth to do.
His main reason for living is to keep every supernatural and human safe from the evil that wanted this earth. Doing that was Joziah Cross single focus until his eyes fell on Naki. He knew that once their eyes met his life now belonged to her as she belonged to him. The problem with that is Naki was a panther shifter but not just any shifter she was the first-born daughter of the Panther God. She wasn’t to be looked upon and never touched, but what could anyone do if he already touched her soul?

A Great Backstory!!!
Seeing how Naki and Joziah met gives a great backstory to Apu and Beverley. We see how deals with demons are made and how families will turn against each other for power, even if it means making side deals and backstabbing people who are in on the deals. This book also explains how Taria’s parents lived and are still living so long. This book could bring about at least 3 additional storylines/books that I can’t wait to read!!! Keep up the good work E. Bowser!!! You’re doing it sis!❤️

Love In Spite Of It All
This story was an enchanting read! I'm new to shifters, but I like the way their humanity is still present here. Joziah and Naki risked everything for a love they never saw coming! But now... their sins may have to be redeemed by their descendants! Great, quick read!

Ok now I see why there is a rift with Naki family but it seems like she got blamed for things she had no control over. I hope they find out what the fairy soul is since that's what he wants and get her family land back. Great series overall

WHAT A WILD RIDE!
A LAYER OF WORLDS BUILDS THE FAMILY TREE !
I absolutely love this series. Each novella peels back an intricate layer to the story that colors the history of these characters. I adore that it’s like being enthralled in a series, having a character introduced, you get lured by intrigue and their backstory blows your mind and fills you with understanding. I loved Joziah and Naki’s story. It answered so many questions but left a ton more burning in the mind. You get more insight into Taria’s bloodline, why Beverly is the super villain you didn’t coming and just how long these demons have been around and will stop at nothing and use ANYONE to fulfill their agenda. Although short this is greatly needed in the timeline of deadly secrets. E. Bowser is the master of building worlds and enrapturing you with her descriptive linguistics and her phenomenal pen. I cannot wait to fall deeper into this world.

Good information
This read was a good filler for what happened in the previous books. A lot of stuff happened with Taria’s parents and this read gave us what we needed to fill in the gaps. Series is coming together.

So Taria is finally getting the story behind her mother and father coming together. Naki “Pearl” hells her about her upbringing now her mother slept with a god and had 3 babies by him. Doing so he lost his powers and they were given to Naki but she was kept hidden but didn’t know why. Joziah chasing a demon led him to and Naki. He and Beverly tracked the demon down to her village.
More Deadly Secrets are revealed but some are still being held to the chest and it seems that Taria stills has more to find out about her lineage..Heading straight into the next book cuz Ebony Bowser’s pen game is unmatched !!!!!
