I didn't really think I would fall head over heels for a clone..but clearly I was wrong.

ETHAN!!!!!!!!😭😭😭😭😭😭
That. Just. That.

Okay. But seriously, Ethan didn't get the story I feel like he deserved. 🥺🥺
I grew way too attached. I was supposed to be focusing on Ava and Demo, but Ethan stole my heart from the moment he was introduced. Seeing Double was an awesome story. I haven't actually read anything on clones before, so I was going in blind with no knowledge really, but I really like how the clone thing was done. Nice job, Alyssa!! Can't wait to jump right into Losing Sight!! 🤍🤍

Seeing Double is definitely a book that will suck you in. I am not one to read about clones and science but this one is just more than that. It has a little romance, action and mystery. It definitely keeps you on your toes. So you meet Ava who is having a hard time to move on with her life. So when she goes back to the place where it all starts, everything changes. So she finds Jet but he is really not Jet. Once she finds out what really happened it just gets crazier. Why? Well he is a clone! So the problem follows them back to where she lives and now they got to figure out how they will stay alive. There are many elements that occur in this book. Overall this was a good book to read.

This is the 1st book I've read written by Alyssa Lynn; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.

The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

Frankly, when I first ran across a copy of "Seeing Double" I thought the tagline and blurb sounded too "star wars: The clone wars" And didn't think I would be interested. However, I decided to give it a try because I love to read, and I was greatly surprised. Alyssa has a way with words that makes the characters jump off the page. I find the storyline to be refreshing, witty, and easy to follow. There is no "expected" ending, nor is there a cliche behind every chapter. Each idea is original and interesting. I couldn't wait to find out what happened next and I was very glad that "Losing Sight" was already out. I am currently awaiting book 3.

"It was an interesting story yeah but I'd have love more mature content. Not saying the story lack of an interest plot on the contrary it was a good one though stories with lack of spice and smut aren't my thing anymore. Yeah, they're captivating but at some point I need the dirty dirty smut no barely kissing and holing hands lol so I couldn't completely love it."

Chapter two occurs 10 years later. The young teens who were discovering their libido are now in their twenties.

This novella is an introduction to a trilogy. The story is equal parts science fiction and horror. Humans are cloned for use as body parts for organ transplants, and for medical test subjects.

The text need editing. One paragraph is repeated.

Thank you to @alyssalynnwrites for an ARC in exchange of an honest review. This novel is quite compact but a brilliant concept and was executed relatively well. I thought the character of 'Jett' was portrayed with humour whilst being absolutely believable. Heat was created well between the 2 main characters and it was sexy without being too graphic. However I did find a couple of points during the story that were not realistic, the main one being for me.... why on earth are people going out clubbing and getting drunk when they are on the run? This made absolutely no sense to me and completely diminished the urgency of the story that had been created so well earlier on. The ending was also a slight issue for me, seeming sudden and again unrealistic but left a wonderful opening for the next novel in the trilogy... I already love the concept of the second book moving forward. I received this book still in its editing stages so picked up on some mistakes and the first couple of chapters definitely need content improvement, however hopefully the final edit released soon will have eliminated most of these problems. All in all I'd give this ⭐⭐⭐/5, it's a great concept for a novel and I'm looking forward to seeing where the second one goes, however I do feel there were areas in this book that let it down and took away from the parts that were done well. Great job for a debut novel.

My Synopsis: Ava grew up in an orphanage with her best friend Jett until one night her best friend is kidnapped and never seen again. 10 years later Ava decides that she is going to return to the scene of the crime in the hopes of finding out what happened to him. Not only does she discover what happened to her best friend, she stumbles upon a lot more than she bargained for.

In "Seeing Double" we meet Ava and Jett, who are best friends and unfortunately have the bad luck of being in a orphanage together, but that doesn't stop them for hanging out and going on adventures outside the orphanage. During these adventures Ava notices that she's starting to get all these mixed feelings towards Jett, but she doesn't want to reciprocate on them because all she's ever known between them has been friendship. One day Jett and Ava go on one of their many outings and come across a eerie looking building with men in navy suits. The curiosity gets the best of Jett and something intense happens that alters the life of Jett and Ava.

Flash Forward 10 years later:
Ava is a successful research geneticist and overworks herself a lot. Her fellow gal pals (and also fellow lab partners) advise her to take a little vacation. Ava agrees and decides to go back to where it all started 10 years ago. As she goes on her search for answers, Ava comes across someone from her past and all her emotions come to surface again, but they get caught by the navy suits and Ava must come up with a plan quickly before it's too late.
I must say there was so much action and suspense in this book. I was definitely on the edge of my seat to see what would happen next. And let's not for get the steamy sex (nothing too raunchy)! I definitely enjoyed this book and I will be looking out for future books from Alyssa Lynn.

Thank you to Alyssa Lynn for providing me with a copy of "Seeing Double" for an honest review.

Seeing Double is a great book and concept. Ava is tormented by the death of her childhood best friend, Jett, for 10 years after he’s dragged away by mysterious men in the middle of the night and never hears from him again. 10 years following that night, Ava decides to visit where they grew up to try to get answers. Ava finds out what happened, but she also finds out a much deeper, darker secret than she could have ever realized about the goings-on of the building Jett was taken to. The story that unfolds is gripping and will have you wanting to keep turning the page to find out what happens. This book is filled with some romance, action and adventure. I’m looking forward to the next book.

Ultimately gave 3.5 stars (but rounded up since Goodreads doesn’t allow half star reviews) due to some spelling errors I found throughout the book. With these corrected, I feel like I would give this book four stars.

Seeing Double was a good book. The cloning concept was fascinating and I found this story absorbing my attention from the first. There were some parts of the story that I need some details on. More background on some aspects of it cloning. Why did they wait 10 years? The questions that I have will hopefully be answered in book two and three of the series. I enjoyed the characters in this story and can’t wait to read more about them in the next books in this trilogy.

I loved this book! I normally am into just your average crime thrillers but LOVED that this threw in the twist of clones. I feel like Alyssa Lynn made the characters so easy to imagine, understand and relate to. I seriously cannot wait until the next book comes out!

What a catchy exciting first read of the trilogy. I was intrigued from the start and totally was absorbed into the excitement, grief, trauma and then action of the story. I was very upset when it ended on such a exciting end. Definately interested in the whole trilogy.

Honestly, when I agreed to read this because of a friend's recommendation I wasn't sure I would like it much less thoroughly enjoy it. While some places do feel a little fast-paced, I fell in love with the characters and how they interacted and evolved from the first page to the last page. Typically when it comes to books with love interests I try so hard to not fall in love with the characters but Seeing Double made that nearly impossible with how these characters are written and practically leap off of the page. I honestly read it in mere hours because I couldn't pull myself away. I'm excited to dive into the next book in the series!!!!!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Alyssa Lynn is quickly becoming one of my favorite indie authors and this book is a big reason why. Ava and Jett are best friends who find a mysterious facility. While exploring, Jett disappears and Ava spends the next 10 years trying to figure out what happened to him. No spoilers, but OMG!!! This book was so great and had several surprise twists.I love the characters and the story is wild. I can’t wait to continue the series!

Ava and Jett were living in a foster home as children. Together they would go off on adventures when they finished with the chores. Then one day Jett doesn't get to return with her. What happened to Jett? As a grown-up she goes back to that fateful place, and "Jett" saves her from being kidnapped. But this person says he isn't Jett, but he looks just like him. Who is he? What are they doing in that building? A good science-fiction story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This story of Ava is so captivating you’ll be pulled in the very first chapter. While I was read the reviews before starting, I was worried about the sci fi aspect of the book. Alyssa made the story very easy to understand. I absolutely adore Kaycie and I felt her pain and suffering at the end of this book. So glad I get to jump straight into book 2

Now that I've gone through with a fine-tooth comb, I'm hoping to get some more exposure on this. I haven't picked up this novel since I wrote it back in 2019. Revisiting this world tugged at my heart strings, and I was super excited about how intense this story was. I'd almost forgotten parts of this story until I did my re-read.
Love love love these characters. It's bitter sweet that I'm closing out this trilogy in the next few months.
