When the guy voted most likely to steal her heart comes back to Asscrack, West Virginia, Ella Mae Bevinly is speechless…literally.
It's like she's been jinxed, but what are the odds of that? The opportunity of a lifetime is here, if she can get over her shyness long enough to play tennis in front of a packed crowd. Maybe wearing a magical glamour...and not sucking...is the answer she needs to change her life forever.
Of course, the heartbreaker has been a bad, bad boy. Magnus Cruze is the most popular tennis player on the Paranormal Professional Tennis Players' Tour. Now, he's back in his hometown of Asscrack to garner some positive public relations to save his career. He just has to be the perfect poster-boy of good behavior and not mess up again. That means keeping his hands off of Ella Mae…er…Tater Tate…or any other tennis player he comes across.
Tennis can't fix everything, but when jinxes fly faster than tennis balls, tell 'em to kiss your ace!
My writing journey started with an old fashioned typewriter. When my family brought it home, I knew what I wanted to do. All those stories rolling around in my head could finally get out. The press and click of the keys were satisfying in their own right, but when I pulled out a finished page, I knew this was for me. Since then, I 've graduated to a laptop, but the stories still find a way out.
I'm a breast cancer survivor, a teacher, a wife, a mother, and a writer. Nowadays, I strive for less procrastination and more tact. The battle wages on.
Ella Mae Bevinly is very shy and is only able to talk to the few people that she is very close to. Ella Mae lives with her step-mother and two step-sisters who are always giving her orders and makes her do all the house work and wait on them. Jinxerella is a Cinderella retelling. Ella Mae wants nothing more than to make a life for herself so she can hopefully get out from under her step-mothers evil thumb.
Her chance comes her way when a guy from her past arrives in town looking for some good publicity to right some bad publicity. Tennis champion Magnus Cruze from the Paranormal Professional Tennis Players' Tour is in town to hold a tennis tournament for someone to go on tour with him.
Magnus is sort of an old friend of Ella Mae’s. Magnus just happens to be her long lost prince charming so to speak. Yeah Ella Mae has had a crush on our very hot Magnus ever since they were children playing together in their hometown of Asscrack, West Virgina.
Ella Mae figures that if she joins the tournament then maybe just maybe she can kill two birds with one stone as they say. If she joins the tournament and wins then she can take the prize money to start her career and then hopefully leave Asscrack behind or at least her step-mother and step-sisters.
But she has one little problem and that is opening her mouth. With her shyness she can’t even talk to the people at the registration table so how she going to be able to stand in front of a crowd of people and play tennis?
I love the little world that Cherie has created for the Jinxed world and all of the amazing characters. Each character has a role to play and they play it well even the evil step-mother and step-sisters. I loved seeing Baba Yaga make an appearance.
Jinxerella is a short read that is so magically enthralling that I couldn’t put it down I had to keep reading to learn more about each character and where the story was going in this wonderful world of Jinxerella. I like that we got to see the points of view from both Ella Mae and Magnus. I like getting inside the heads of all the characters so that I can see how they look and feel about what is going on around them and what their world is like. I can’t wait to see where Cherie takes us next in the Jinx world.
I highly recommend Jinxerella to all fans of magic, witches, retellings, fun witty stories set in a magical little town filled with paranormal happenings.
There is no murder, just a tongue tied witch, who has a crush but can only nod her head when spoken too. As you read the story, the reason for her problem becomes clear. The story was entertaining, reminded me of the story Cinderella. You have an evil step-mother and two half sisters. The only difference is this remade Cinderella is a witch. This book does have a Happy Ending, and of course there is a little sex involved. The story was well written, but it wasn't my cup of tea, so to speak, I'm not crazy about the remaking of the fairy tales. Again its my likes and dislikes, nothing to do with the story or the author. I have no complaints as far as the writing goes. I would read more if given the opportunity to see how the rest of the books are, since this was the first one I have read.

Jinxerella is a Cinderella retelling. This is so brilliantly written with the Cinderella character being a witch! So many wonderful moments in this book. There is great world building in this. Love the characters that have been created as they are so much fun to read about. Great story line and plot. Recommend reading.

Ella Mae Tate was given a task by her step mother to get to do public relations for Magnus Cruz. He would be competing in the Asscrack Paranormal Amateur Tennis Open. She had not seen him since he went to college and although they had grown up together she could not bring herself to talk to him. She had a thing for him. But being timid, how was she going to get him to sign or even talk to him for that matter. He thought he saw her, there before she ran off, and liked what he saw. Maybe there is a chance after all.
This book takes place in the Magic and Mayhem Universe. It is a paranormal romance between witches. It is romantic, humorous and fun. The character of Ella Mae is great, I particularly enjoyed how she overcame her Cinderella complex, took back her control and made a life for herself. There is some steamy scenes but they work well into the storyline. It is an easy to read book with some surprises, twists and turns. I read this book in one sitting and found it light and entertaining. So if you are in the mood for a cozy paranormal romance, give this book at try.

I loved the adorable cover on this book and found that the name of the made-up town to be amusing (although I wonder if it is as funny to people from West Virginia), and as I love paranormal stories, I had high hopes for this one. While I did enjoy the story itself, the book had some serious flaws. There is a very wrong word choice on the very first page. The use of hyphens seems incorrect, and there were other issues with grammar, punctuation, and usage. A huge info dump set up the entire premise of the story immediately; the backstory and premise were not rolled out slowly, as they should be. All these things annoy me in books. I actually did quite like the heroine's character. It's rare to see a shy protagonist. I like the world that the author has created, but those annoyances that I mentioned earlier were off-putting.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
Another new retelling of that classic fairytale Cinderella. In this version the timid and shy Ella works in her mean spirited stepmother's PR business as the brains behind whatever success has been achieved so far. Now Ella's childhood friend tennis star Marcus, is in town for a promotional tournament and her stepmother Matina is threatening her into meeting up with Marcus and signing him on to Matina's company. A comedy of errors ensues as Ella glamours herself a disguise in her efforts to achieve Matina's demands but more so, to enter the tournament and try to win her way away from her trapped life. A very entertaining take on the fairytale. I loved it!

Modern take on the Cinderella story set around a tennis tournament with a shy witch, step mother, step sisters and a fairy best friend. And a Prince Charming of course. Sweet, cute, relaxing read which made me smile and go "Ahhhh". But then in later chapters, it gets more intense and definitely not cozy anymore! More 18+. I did enjoy this though and Cherie Marks writes a nice little story. I will certainly be looking out for more of her work.

Sporting love What a cute little play on Cinderella and a perfect addition to the Magic and Mayhem Universe. I love that Ella finally has her day and gets her man. It’s too bad that so many were made to suffer along with her on the way to her HEA, but as always Baba Yaga saves the day and her magical pokey is a little fuller than it was before. I truly enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read the next one.
So when the bad boy comes back, is it time to play ball? Maybe hardball? Maybe just time to use your bat on him until he has functioning brains?
Okay. Totally not tennis metaphors, granted. And the hottie is a total paranormal tennis bad boy. But it might be time for real mixed doubles, if they can survive- and keep out of all kinds of trust fails and troubles that long.

Jinxerella by Cherie Marks is a book in the Magic and Mayhem Universe. This tale is sort of a witchy Cinderella tale featuring Ellie Mae as the poor put upon step daughter to a wicked witch of a stepmother. This is a cute, easy to read tale that is a nice, quick read. This is the book to choose when you want a good book, full of whimsy, that you will want to read just for fun. Jinxerella is a cute tale of witchy mystery and romance.
Thia is a very cute read! This is a great and funny twist on the Cinderella story. Ella is a unique character that is debilitated by her social anxiety. This is a very entertaining read that is light hearted. I received a complimentary copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an unbiased, honest review.
I enjoyed this cute short story about Ella Mae, a witch who has problems speaking with people she doesn't know and appears to be jinxed. She also has the requisite evil stepmother and stepsisters. Sit down and relax with this enchanting short story.

Ella Mae thinks she is extremely shy but there is so much more to Ella Mae and I loved finding out all the twists and turns in this funny romantic comedy.
Great characters and I loved how it fitted into the magic and mayhem universe.
