Hacker The Hunted Hearts Book 2

Second book of the series saw the development of hacker Jimmy Carroll. Which I thought extremely well written. Very gripping enjoyable story. I loved the competition between Jimmy and Lara, which of course led to romance. The insights into the world of hacking was fascinating. Thoroughly recommend this entertaining book.

HACKER is the story of Jimmy Carroll after he moves away from his "sister" Ellie Phillips. Jimmy has broken up with his Florida girlfriend, and has moved to San Francisco to do what he does best-hack into computers. An online hacked meeting with another hacker (Lara) has resulted in being asked to compete in a competition with the world renowned Kinder Corp. After intense competition, the two semi-finalists are brought to Kinder Corp for the last level of the event. Unexpectedly joining forces results in both of them being offered internships and splitting the prize money. Once the internships begin, mysteries begin to surface that are woven through out Kinder Corp and in the very computers that hold secrets of the world. A fast paced book with much technical terminology that enhances the excitement and level of suspense, there is also a sweet touch of romance and friendship to keep the reader interested. At one point you are unsure who is the bad guy and who you should trust, however the confusion clears quickly and action builds to an exciting finish.
From a back seat in the former books in the series to hero, Jimmy is a character you root for and want to see teamed up with Lara. Each book in this series surprises me and goes in a direction I couldn't predict. However, Ms Chilton obviously has a great sense of direction, and each book keeps getting better. A stand alone story, but more enhanced if you have read the prequel and first book in the series. I recommend HACKER highly!

Another great Claire Chilton book, with a little bit of everything inside.
Romance, adventure, danger and nonstop action. Jimmy returns with his hacking skills to win a prize, save the day and fall for Lara, who is also a hacker, but she needs the prize money and is determined to win.
Lots of fun, characters that come to life the more you read and a plot that has plenty twists to keep you guessing. First con artists, now hacking, I'm excited to see what's coming next from the criminal underbelly.

This story was very well written. Lara was a hacktivist. She hacked the computers of people who were misusing funds or misleading people. Then, she outed them-- spread their abuse on the internet so that they could not continue. Jimmy was a hacker. He did it for the fun of it. They met at a contest held by Jack Kinder. The winner would get an internship at Kinder Corp. They both won but they soon discover that things are not on the up and up. But will they live to tell the tale?
