If this had been a full length novel I would have awarded a 5-star rating. But maybe I'm being greedy because this is a great read and I thoroughly recommend it. If I could, I'd give it 4.5 stars.

A quite short tale that introduces us to Ellie, her father and her brother, Jimmy. They run cons against only bad people but Ellie's dad wants her to give it all up for university.
I enjoyed the book, with lively characters and a good storyline. It developed well, the family are easy to identify with and the baddies definitely deserved their fate.
It just wasn't long enough for me, though that could be because it is book zero. Time will tell.
All in all a nice start to the series. Claire Chilton certainly has an imaginative way with her heroines.

“Heist” is a FANTASTIC BOOK..

This is my first book by Claire Chitton but far from my last. It is fantastic and I loved it so much. Claire's story-line is awesome as is her plot. I completely loved her characters and the personalities she gave them were so fitting for this book. I can't wait to pick up book 2 and I already have book 3. YEAH!

You take a con man, Stewart and you add a couple of teenage kids, Ellie and Jimmy, into the mix and it's tremendously funny, witty, and a bit snarky.

Stewart is trying to get his now 18 year old daughter to attend University. But Ellie doesn't want anything to do with it. She wants to continue in the family business. So she goes against her better judgment and makes a deal with her dad. She heads up the next job without any help or interference from him. If she succeeds she free from the University and if she fails she heads off to school.

Ellie was to simply go in and get some surveillance on Mr. Starling. She donned a maids outfit and went into what she thought was an empty unit. As she was looking around the desk, she heard a voice come from one of the closed doors and the the door opened and Ellie hid under the desk.

While there she found a hidden hard drive. Ellie took it and hid it under her clothes. Then she popped up with the trash can and looked startled that there was someone in the room. A young Matt Starling jumped up and wanted to know what she was doing. Cleaning she said.

Before Brandi left Matt had asked her to a concert at the hotel. She told him yes as her dad was yelling no, no in her ear bug. Ellie cam home tipsy and happy until she opened her apartment and found every item in the entire place shredded and cut open. Brandi grabbed her stuff and headed for her locker to get her things. But what she found a phone on her uniform. When she opened it a picture came on the screen of a man tied up with a gun to his head. They had her dad. What was she going to do know?

Pick up a copy and find out what wasn't said and what happens.

Lica Reads

I don't know what to say about this book.
I've been reading so many books that I usually don't read, and I'm liking most of them so far.

So about Heist, I gotta say that it kind reminded me about a Wattpad series, and since I liked that one, I decided "Why not give this one a try?" and I liked it.

Of course Heist is just an opening for the real series. Ellie loves to do cons with her father and Jimmy even though her father wants her out of this criminal life and into a good College.

So Ellie makes a deal with her father and if she can lead one con successfully she may get out of going to college, otherwise she gotta get out of this life.

I don't get why Ellie may seem great when it comes to action but let's face it: she sucks leading. And trouble after trouble she and her family discover something bigger than what was expected in this mission of theirs.

Good action a little romance and some funny interactions. So far I like what this series seems to offer.

This all too short book is the introduction to a new series about an unusual family. A family of con artists that consists of a dad, a daughter, and a younger brother. There is no doubt that the negative connotation of a con man isn't connected to these folks. Yes they are doing illegal things, but the scum they are conning are dregs of the earth and their resulting jail careers are actually too good for them. It turns out father knows best about many things, but it's his daughter Ellie who makes you want to read more!
When I was offered the opportunity to read this by the author I was excited. Claire Chilton is a master of descriptions, and she didn't disappoint in this book. I could feel the cold and slime of the water as it rushed over Ellie and her dad, and...wait a minute. You just need to read this book for yourself and enjoy Ms Chilton's descriptions as well as getting to know this family. You will be glad you did! And as soon as you are finished, check out the first book in the series, Hustle. I'm off to read it right now!

Think I've watched one too many con/hustle tv series. This didn't even fall close to elaborate yet simple plans and fancy con names I was expecting...All Carter came a heck of alot closer with her heist society series which were much better, even in the romance segment.

This was a really good one, even if it's just ten chapters long.

Looking forward to reading more of these series!

Very good read. Claire Chilton really knows how to write an adventure book, Ellie really reminds me of Lara Croft.
Highly recommended.
