Sexy paranormal romance with an unlikely heroine
This is a sexy paranormal romance, which leaves you wanting more. At first I thought that Eve was going to be a damsel in distress that was going to be carried off throughout the story by a handsome young man every time she needed rescuing. In the beginning of the story he sweeps her off her feet and carries her out of her dad's office after she finds her father's body and in the next chapter, when the police are interrogating her and she panics, he walks into the room and carries her out of the room too. I couldn't help but think of 'An officer and a Gentleman', "Love lifts us up where we belong."
But I quickly noticed that Eve was no sweet, weak girl. In fact, twice she ends up drunk and she also does quite a bit of swearing, which is very unlike the heroines in the romance novels I'm used to reading, but I liked her a lot.
