But when Jake goes missing, she has to revisit the darkness she has avoided for so long and finally face the demons from her past.

Hostel for teenagers with a nice twist!
'Dark Thoughts' grabbed me right from the first page. It starts with sixteen year old Beth Warner realizing she’s about to commit suicide but not knowing how or when she had picked up sleeping pills. Was she hallucinating? What if you can't trust your own mind? Beth’s world is terrifying and I found myself rooting for her, especially because of her traumatic past. There was a scene that showed what had happened to her when she lived with her parents and it was very intense.
I especially loved the graphic descriptions of the book because they made me feel like I was there with her, but I do feel I should warn that it's not for the faint-hearted!

A very dark and disturbing tale, not for the faint hearted! Big twist at the end and one I didn't see coming.
