From Clara Kensie, author of the RITA® award-winning Deception So series and the critically-acclaimed Aftermath, comes KILL ME ONCE, KILL ME TWICE: a dual-timeline, dual-romance, dual-mystery/thriller with a touch of magical realism for fans of The Walls Around Us and Vanishing Girls.
Winner of the 2015 RITA Award for Best First Book!
Clara Kensie, author of dark fiction for young adults …don’t forget to breathe…
Clara Kensie grew up near Chicago, reading every book she could find and using her diary to write stories about a girl with psychic powers who solved mysteries. She purposely did not hide her diary, hoping someone would read it and assume she was writing about herself. Since then, she’s swapped her diary for a computer and admits her characters are fictional, but otherwise she hasn’t changed one bit.
The first two books in the DECEPTION SO series, originally released as a six-part serial titled Run to You, are now compiled into full-length novels, DECEPTION SO DEADLY and DECEPTION SO DARK (Snowy Wings Publishing).
Clara’s critically-acclaimed novel AFTERMATH (Simon and Schuster), a dark, ripped-from-the-headlines drama about hope, healing, and triumph over tragedy in the tradition of Room and The Lovely Bones, is on Goodreads’ list of Most Popular Books Published in November 2016, and Young Adult Books Central declared it a Top Ten Book of 2016.
Her most recent book is KILL ME ONCE, KILL ME TWICE, a dual-POV, dual-timeline, dual-romance, dual-mystery/thriller with elements of magical realism.
Clara’s favorite foods are guacamole and cookie dough. But not together. That would be gross.
An extremely intriguing type of book. Dying a few times is quite different. I was totally entranced by the story. First time author for me, but not the last
This book had me hooked from the first word to the last. I loved the characters, the idea, the writing, the way the lifetimes were intertwined - all of it. And I don't think I can really say much more than that.

In the past I had won Clara Kensie's book Aftermath & it was a little different than books I generally read but I loved it. So, when I was offered the chance to read Clara Kensie's new book Kill Me Once, Kill Me Twice I was a little conflicted because to be honest I personally don't believe in reincarnation but I remembered giving her other book a chance so I decided I would give this one a chance as well.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK!!
I realized fairly fast that it doesn't matter if you do or don't believe in reincarnation, that fact becomes irrelevant because you're too busy being sucked into the story & the suspense it does not fail to deliver. I was constantly trying to guess who did what & what was going on.. then I'd question myself & start thinking up new ideas just to keep repeating that process throughout the whole book until things started to be revealed & come to light.
This is a book that I think both teens & adults would enjoy if they're looking for a really good suspense, mystery, maybe something even a little different from what you would normally read.. I promise Kill Me Once, Kill Me Twice will not disappoint if you just give it a chance!

Eighteen years ago, Lily Summerhays was the only one who believed that her friend’s death had not been an accident. Forced to investigate on her own, she soon realized that the murderer was someone she knew and it got her killed. Today, Ever Abrams is the opposite of Lily, but she’s also Lily’s reincarnation and she remembers her death, if not her life. That’s how she knows the man on death row for Lily’s murder is innocent. Now it’s her turn to solve a murder while trying to avoid Lily’s fate. This is a page-turner full of tension and exciting twists. As each girl looked for the real killer and fell in love, I struggled and suffered with them. I knew Lily’s story would end in tragedy, but I couldn’t help but hope that somehow it wouldn’t. It made me all the more nervous about the uncertainty of what would happen to Ever. Kill Me Once, Kill Me Twice kept me on the edge of my seat trying to solve two mysteries at the same time. It took me on a rollercoaster of warmth and tragedy and suspense, and I loved every second of it.
Kill Me Once, Kill Me Twice is a tightly-plotted mystery told across two seamlessly interwoven timelines, full of suspense and intrigue that kept me up late and had me frantically turning pages. The two romances were heartbreaking and heartwarming in turn. Readers know from the outset that one of the timelines is going to end in tragedy, which made Lily's love story painful even as it was beautiful; but little rays of hope shone in unexpected ways. I cried bittersweet tears at the end, but I still had a smile on my face.
I highly recommend this book for readers of romantic suspense as well as paranormal, mystery, and thriller lovers.
This is a fantastic story that is amazingly written with one main character that has two names! The same person but opposites! The struggle to find the killer is an incredible story that had me hooked from the start.

I loved the concept of this book! All about trying to solve the mystery. The answer lays in the past. Lily/Ever are trying to solve the murder of a friend, who will kill again to keep everyone quiet. But the men in their lives, trust them to want to keep finding the truth. I never wanted to put this book down. I loved the ending!
