Wow these guys were brutal. As always Time Life does an excellent job giving an overview of the material with a ton of pics to help explain the subject. I always learn something new and interesting every time I read one of their books. Grab one and learn some thing new. Recommended

This is a great overview of the Aztecs. It goes into the culture, day to day life, and religious practices. It is filled with wonderful pictures and cut aways. All in all it is a well put together book.

A very good beginning overview of Aztec culture and history, which doesn't shy away from details about the bloodthirsty requirements of the Aztec religion; reading this, you realize that, in the conflict between Aztec and Spaniard, there were no "good guys."

Our myriad histories of the Spanish conquest will pay lip service to the indigenous culture before the swords are sharpened. This book recovers it from its amalgamous destruction far beyond the Codices studied by the first missionaries.

I’ve always been interested in Aztec and Mayan religion/mythology. And reading this book on the Aztec civilization has just completely revitalized that interest!
