Bounty Hunters #3

Promises Part 3

Rate this book
Bradford (Ford) King was sure he had the rest of his life mapped out. Life was simple, no distractions or complications - at age 46, that's all Ford wanted. What he didn't want was his work partner, sniper/watchman Dana, giving him s--t all the time.

Dana Cadby had grown up labeled a roughneck from the wrong side of the tracks. Dana pulled himself up by his own boot straps and made a name for himself in the marksman community. He'd been Duke's bounty watchman for five years. At 33, he was trusted, well-respected by his peers, his bosses, his friends...so why couldn't he earn the same respect from his partner?

Dana knew he was bisexual before he graduated high school. He also knew he was attracted to the huge, 6'3" SEAL from the moment he and his brother came to join their team.

When Duke sends Dana and Ford out to track down their most dangerous bounty yet, they both embrace the fact that they make one hell of a team...but they fight tooth and nail against the powerful intimacy brewing between them.

Contains mature themes.

**2.5 Stars**

**WARNING**

Cussing and ranting below and maybe a few spoilers too. If this will offend your delicate sensibilities, please read no further.

Dana was a damn pussy and Ford was a motherfluffin’ dick. There I said it. These two frustrated the HELL out of me.

Dana spent 50% of the book with a girlfriend, who was a bitch (and BTW…if you don’t like MF scenes in your MM books, you might want to skip this one). He was too much of a pussy to man the fuck up and break up with her. He shouldn’t have ever taken her back to begin with much less just sit by and take what shit she was dishing out. If he hadn’t caught her later he probably would have gone the whole damn book still tied to her. Like I said...Pussy.

And Ford, WTF? He was one of the biggest dicks I’ve ever read and not the good kind of big dick either. I have no idea what Dana even saw in him. Why in the hell would you want someone who was always mean and said shit to you? I just did not get the attraction there. He pissed me off way too many times. A dick.

The only reason I read this book was because I was anxious to get to Brian’s book. I knew this one would frustrate me based on other reviews and yeah, I read it anyway. The second half or so was better as far as the relationship and I got me some Brian and Sway. I want Brian to get his HEA so bad. He deserves it.

I am a huge A.E. Via fan, so everytime a new book comes out, it makes me giddy ;)

This time we get Dana and Ford's story. Those of you, who have read the previous books, know who they are already. Those of you who haven't.....what are you waiting for ??!!

jennifer love hewitt i know what you did last summer i give up julie james what are you waiting for GIF

Bradford King (46), known as Ford, and Dana Cadby (33) both work as bounty hunters for Duke and Quick's team.

Ford is a former Navy Seal, who was dishonerely discharged after rescuing his brother Brian from terrorists. He and his brother joined Duke's team not too long ago.

Dana is the team's sniper/watchman. Dana is an expert marksman who has won several awards. He has been with the team a bit longer.

Ever since Ford joined the team, Dana has had his eye on the huge rugged man. Dana has always been bi-sexual, but since he burned himself with the last man he was with.....he is a bit cautious. So he has only been with women in the last 10 years. Dana doesn't think he stands a chance with Ford and besides that...he doesnt even know if the man swings his way.

So he sticks with his awful girlfriend.....I really hated that woman !!! I got so annoyed with Dana for not standing up for himself and just letting her walk all over him.

images (200×200)

What Dana doesn't know though, is that Ford is just as intrigued by him. He can't stand seeing the way Dana's girlfriend treats him (makes two of us). He doesn't understand why Dana went back to her in the first place.... Dana deserves so much more... He deserves Ford....

tumblr_m2hdypifmp1qzhvg4o1_r1_500.gif (500×213)

Ford doesn't have a lot of experience with men. I don't even think he has a lot of experience with women either. He used to have hook-ups when he was younger, but that stuff got old and he is fine with being by himself....or so he thinks. He just can't seem to get Dana out of his head and working so up close with the man is slowly driving him insane. Something will have to give....

The sexual tension in this book was through the roof and I was just yelling at them to get their heads straight and kiss already !!!

anigif_enhanced-5196-1429913803-16.gif (500×281)

Which thankfully they finally did. Once these two got their heads out of their asses, they were very sweet and hot together.

17927689.gif (500×242)

I do have to say that to me, this book seems lower on the steamy side than all the others. I didn't mind though... I loved how they took things slow and how sweet they were to one another.

What I really loved was the extra parts we got in Brian's voice. Now this is a story I can't wait for. Brian has been my favorite since he was introduced into this series and I hope we won't have to wait too long for his and Sway's story..

My favorite in the series so far.

I totally understand why Dana annoyed some of my GR friends. For a badass bounty hunter, his spinelessness when it came to dealing with his girlfriend made no sense...AT ALL! But once that mess was over (and sadly it took awhile), I just really liked Ford and Dana as a couple. Dana was Ford's "brat" and Ford was Dana's "old man". It was easy for me to forget about everything else. It also helped that out of all the books I sampled, this one the one that held my interest. It saved me from the slumps.

I liked the story of Ford & Dana well enough and I’m happy I gave it a chance.

And if it only was for the glimpses we already got from Brian & Sway and their first encounter. So tender so hot. Omg omg I am so f* excited for their story. I’m getting right to it.

This one was hard to rate since I really liked the story and characters but I had issues with the whole girlfriend thing. Not that Dana had a girlfriend but the fact that it didn't feel necessary at all. She was barely even in the book and for me didn't add anything to the story at all so I just didn't get why Dana taking her back was made a big deal. Just my opinion on that and I still really liked Ford and Dana together so it was a still a winning book in my eyes.

I don't think that this book was for me. I was thinking about a rating of 2.5 stars but in the end decided to give it 3 because my reasonsfor not enjoying the story are totally subjective so it didn't seem fair. In my review I'll mention what I didn't like but I'll try to be as objective as I can so you can get an idea of what the book is about and decide for yourself if it's for you or not.

My biggest problem with this book was the fact that I couldn't connect with the characters. I didn't care what happened to them, I was just reading along without being invested to the story. I was really frustrated by that. The fact that I still can't figure out why this happened makes the situation worse.

It wasn't the writting, because it was good. It wasn't the plot, because it was interesting. Maybe the problem was the charecters themselves because they were quick to misunderstand and had some dramatic reactions.

These guys played the hero all the time, always coming out on top and never losing to anyone. I'm not a fan of that. I want more real characters, with flaws and quirky behaviors. These guys where supposed to be badasses but it didn't feel natural. It seemed fake and like it took a lot of effort to come across as the bad boys they were supposed to be.

Except for the main couple we also get a HEA for two side characters (I don't think it was the beginning of a new book because everything seemed resolved between them but I could be wrong). From the moment that we met one of those two characters I was wondering if he is a future MC but suddenly we get his point of view in a few chapters and we leave him paired off. I didn't see it coming and I don't know why it was included in this book.

The confrontation scene near the end didn't do anything for me and more tthan that I couldn't figure out what was happening or, to be precise, how everything was happening. Dana was supposed to observe everything going on during the operation from the roof of a building but he was able to practically see what was going on in the whole neighborhood. Normally when you're on top of a building you can see a couple of streets each direction but that's it. So, exactly how tall was this building and how low where all the rest? Maybe I got it all wrong and had a different picture in my head than what was actually happening, Anyway, that's just one of the things that bothered me in that scene.

There are a few M/F scenes in the book, as Dana has a girlfriend for about half the book. I didn't have a problem with them, but I know some readers don't like them in their M/M books so I wanted to mention them.

Ford and Dana together were good but they went through their fair share of misunderstandings and drama. I was glad when they finally got it together and started seeing each other.

Ford's brother Brian was a very interesting chracter. I would have liked to get to know him better but I don't know if that's going to happen. He seems like he has a lot of things to tell us about his past and his future but we left him at a point where I'm not sure if he's going to have a book of his own.

There are characters from the other books in the series here but you should be fine even if you haven't read their stories (talking from personal experience here). So, if the story seems interesting to you, don't hesitate to read this because it's the third book in a series. It can be read as a standalone without a problem.

I hope everyone who decides to read this enjoys it more than I did. I still have no idea what the issue was so I'm encouraging everyone who liked the blurb to read a couple of reviews and give this story a try.

⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱*Might contain spoilers*⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱

This book centers around former SEAL Lieutenant, Bradford ‘Ford’ King (46) and his work partner, sniper/watchman, Dana Cadby (33-34?). Ford and Dana has to work together, trust each other, but after Dana took back his ex-girlfriend Jessica (annoying as fuck woman), Ford's attitude towards him changed completely: aggressive and downright antagonistic. All Dana want is Ford's respect, a respect he feels he deserves, while Ford thinks Dana is spineless after taking back the whiny woman. Ford wants “Dana act like the man he truly was. Strong, determined, spirited, and a ton of other great qualities Ford had taken for granted until someone else started stealing them.” However, Dana taking back his ex was just his attempt at not being lonely and fight his longing and attraction towards a man who don't want him. Or so he thinks...
“Get rid of her. Now,” Ford ordered, making Dana almost come in his pants.

Characters:
↠ Dana Cadby - grown up labeled a roughneck from the wrong side of the tracks, has made a name for himself in the marksman community and became a successful man even though his father constantly told him he would always be a nothing. He’d been Duke’s (main man in first book) bounty watchman for five years (watching their back, making sure they are safe). Dana is also bisexual, though has stayed away from men for years.
“It’s yours. I’m yours, Bradford.” Dana turned his head, searching out Ford’s mouth then taking a bruising kiss, pushing his tongue in and out, fucking him with it, hoping the carnal act would get Ford revved up and make him go crazy, fuck him into the mattress.
“You are mine, Dana,”

↠ Bradford ‘Ford’ King - broody and domineering, overprotective big brother and lives to satisfy his hunger for hunting bad guys. Being a bounty hunters is the closest thing he can come across as he is dishonerely discharged from military after rescuing his brother Brian King (44?) from terrorists... Ford also doesn't want relationships because he think they are a complication which he doesn't need in his life as he is content with what he's got; his brother and his job.

Ford watched every expression imaginable flitter across Dana’s face: surprise, lust, appreciation, hope, relief… and then he saw what he’d prayed he would… happiness.

Overall:
The story was, though, interesting enough to finish reading, it was very predictable. However, strangely each book is a little better than the previous ones, which, normally, tends to be the opposite... This series has theme apparently: there's little depth, little really getting to know the characters. I struggle to seriously connect with the characters, though I did feel for Brian. I wonder if he gets his own book, or is this the last one in Bounty Hunters series? Although, I'm not all that interested, but I do want a conclusion for the all the hunters in this team. I did like, though, that there wasn't a insta-love here. Dana and Ford has worked together for three years before finally getting their chance at happiness. Overall, it was pretty straight forward, easy to read, predictable and boring at times. An alright book to read to pass the time. The whole series is.
Too late. There was no one there for him to talk to. Not now, maybe not ever. He’d run away from Brian… like they all did. They were scared of him. Scared of his silence... and so was he.

Quick basic facts:
Genre: - (A) Contemporary Romance (M/M)
Series: - Series (Standalone?), Book Three
Love triangle? -
Cheating? -
HEA? -
Favorite character? - Bradford ‘Ford’ King.
Would I read more by this author/or of series? - Probably not.
Would I recommend this book/series? - Unsure.
Will I read this again in the future? - No.
Rating - 2.5/2 stars.

Oh God, I loved this book, it was SO worth the wait.
This book is just a smooth ride from start to finish, A typical A.E. Via book all the way!

My only complaint is that when I buy an MM book, I don't want to read A-n-y-t-h-i-n-g about MF having sex!

A hard-headed 46 year old former Navy SEAL and a passionate 33 year old Sharpshooter/Watchman confront their attraction to one another while we sit back and watch the passion bubble over? Yes, please!

Bradford "Ford" King and Dana Cadby both work with Duke and Quick at Duke’s Bail Bonds and Recoveries in Atlanta, Georgia. After Ford and his brother Brian joined Duke's team he was partnered with Dana and the sparks have been flying for three years as the two have tried to deny the feelings they have for one another, with both believing the other would never reciprocate.

Ford hides his attraction by being taciturn and gruff. Dana hides his attraction by dating women.

Dana is comfortably bisexual, but after getting burned by his last male lover ten years ago, he's been reluctant to be romantic with another man...but he would gladly take a chance with rugged, alpha male Ford if he had any indication of reciprocated feelings.

There is a lot of UST between Dana and Ford. The two love and live to argue, snipe, and snark at each other to cover their feelings.

Now I don't want to be all Complainer McBitcherson, but this does bring me to one of my only complaints about the story: Jessica.

Dana has an on again off again girlfriend for most of the story. Jessica, who is quite the piece of work, is constantly turning up uninvited. There's a truly cringe worthy, awkward sex scene between the two that is, I guess, supposed to cement the reader's dislike of this character. Which, for me, worked like a charm.

While Dana does break up with Jessica before he starts anything with Ford, it's a sort of blink and you might miss it kind of thing, which felt odd considering how long Jess had been on page. And then you never hear from the woman again...which, let me assure you this did not seem like a woman who would just go gently into that good night, if you know what I mean.

Honestly, with the way she disappeared I didn't understand why the character had even been introduced at all. IMO she did nothing to advance the story, and, in fact, paints Dana as a weakling who allows her to walk all over him. He's only with her so "he's not alone", which doesn't say a lot for Dana's character.

Which got me to thinking how there have been very few positive female characters in A.E. Via's books that I can recall. But I digress.

Once Ford and Dana acknowledge their mutual desire and finally act upon it it's smooth sailing, romance-wise, to their HEA.
Slowly, his long fingers clasped the bottom of Ford’s shirt and instead of lifting the shirt up and off him, Dana closed his eyes and inched his hands underneath. Using his sense of touch to not only feel, but to see. He’d seen Dana do that in the field when his visibility was reduced. He’d close his eyes and listen, feel the movements in the air, then he’d fire and hit his target dead-on. Ford watched every expression imaginable flitter across Dana’s face: surprise, lust, appreciation, hope, relief… and then he saw what he’d prayed he would… happiness.

Told in multiple POV from Ford, Dana, and (including a really memorable and super hot sexy chapter) Brian, Promises Part 3 is classic Via with lots of action, a couple of sexy times, a nail biting crisis, and then the HEA.

I loved how cute it was to see that, at any age, you can be nervous and excited to be starting something new. Though a lot of the relationship building was off page and we're treated to some time jumps, which, honestly, I would have gladly skipped the whole Jessica storyline to get some more on page time with Ford and Dana.

I also loved the glimpses into Brian's world and his (hopefully) upcoming story. His romance is already making me swoon internally.

I'll definitely be in line for the next one!

Note: while this could be read as a standalone...I would recommend you check out the rest of the series (and while you're at it the Nothing Special series) first.

I absolutely loved this authors Nothing Special series, but I just can not get into this series. I read book 1 and just didn't like it at all. I skipped book 2 because no way was I spending that much on a book when I didn't like the first one. I bought this because it was on sale for a buck and I love a good hate to love relationship. Once again it was a fail for me. I'm just glad I got it on sale so I don't have to be annoyed by spending the $7 it would have been.

Ford and Dana lacked passion and chemistry. I didn't feel like they were vibing as a couple until near the end. There was just too much miscommunication and tantrums being thrown for me to fully enjoy it. Maturity was a word that was being thrown around quite a bit in this story and I feel both characters could have used more of it.

I enjoyed the little bit of action we got. You would think with this being a bounty hunter series there would be more of it, but nope. But the little we got was really good. You got to see these men be the bad-asses they are described to be and not the mess they really are. I would have enjoyed more action and less of the angst.

The surprising part of this is that I still wanna read about the Doc and Quick. I don't think I will be reading it or Sways story unless I find them on sale or if they are lended to me because there is no way I will spend that much on a book when I haven't really cared for the others in the series.

Happy reading dolls! xx

I liked this one more than the second book

This was back to the more 'normal' level of chaos for this bounty hunter series and I liked it.

I do love a good workplace relationship romance, especially when it's tinged with a bit of snark and lots of alpha posturing like here.

Both Dana and Ford are thoroughly likeable characters too and seeing them eventually act on the UST building between them was a lot of fun.

I'm really keen to get onto book four now though as it's Brian and Sway's romance!

Dana and Ford….and a little bit of Brian...

I’ll say that I’m obsessed with Brian and I cannot wait for his story; especially with Sway, although I have a feeling something bad’s gonna happen because they’re so lovey already and I don’t want that to end. Fingers crossed.

In saying that, let’s talk about Dana and Ford.
Ford is grouchy and kind of a jerk in the beginning, these guys, I swear, none of them know how to talk to each other. Dana’s had feelings for Ford for the last several years, but Ford never gave him any indication that he wanted anything from him, even friendship as of lately… Dana was lonely and it surprised me that he had such a low opinion of himself. I guess with the dad he had and the girlfriend he barely tolerated, it would be easy to see why he had such low self-esteem. I have to say, with the girlfriend, I thought she was going to be more trouble than she was. I thought for sure that she had something to do with the guys that they were after… I was surprised and a little disappointed that she didn’t get called out and humiliated more than she did. I would’ve liked to have seen that. I was not a fan….

But, like I said, Dana was lonely and she liked him, so he wasted a lot of time with her, too much really… and because of that, I feel like Ford didn’t trust him and he was already battling his attraction to him, in the most hateful way… Everybody could see their attraction to each other, but them… I was glad that Dana was more the outspoken one and finally made his intentions clear….

Then everything was downhill from there. I loved these two together, They aren’t my favorite, in this series… I truly think that Brian and Sway will be, but, I have high hopes for them and I was so glad to see them put everything behind each other and finally admit they wanted each other… then that they loved each other…

When something happens to Dana, my heart broke for Ford… he went from the broody, unfeeling guy to an absolute wreck. I liked seeing that side of him because it made him more human to me. There were a few hiccups, nothing angsty or terrible, just life and misunderstandings… I loved the way it all got handled and I loved the way it ended…for now. These guys are perfect for each other… and once I picked it up, I didn’t put it down until I was finished.

Another great addition to an already great series.

In case you haven’t noticed, I’m REALLY looking forward to Brian and Sway… I’ll be impatiently waiting for the next one.

5, well deserved stars from me.

The Bounty Hunters are back! This time its Ford and Dana’s story, and their three year partnership has become strained. I really enjoy getting alternate POV’s for characters and the extra insight. Dana is bisexual and he has always wished Ford would see him as more than a too young and bratty work partner. Needing companionship, Dana has gotten back together with his girlfriend and Ford isn't happy. Ford is too afraid to ever open up about his own feelings but he can't help his jealousy. However, it turns him into one angry jerk, and Dana can't figure it out.

AE’s specialty is creating tough, muscled, bearded & goateed, all-alpha, crimefighting brotherhoods and every one of them has a soft, squishy, romantic center they resist admitting to. It took quite a while for Ford to let his marshmallow heart out and in the meantime, there's a case to work. There was the usual degree of hot action, mayhem and an exciting finish. The part I didn't care for was just the first few chapters, which showed too much “interaction” between Dana and the girlfriend he's too soft hearted and chicken hearted to break up with. Even though she had a necessary role, there was too much “showing”, when “telling”, at that point, would have made little difference to the plot. (IMO)

Still, it picked up quickly after that with a kick-butt chasing-down-the-criminals plot. There's also some POV from Brian, as his story is up next and it ought to be hot! I was also happy with the improvements in editing and proofing. I've been hooked on Via’s stories since Nothing Special, when God and Day strolled onto the scene. I think Ford and Dana remind me the most of them, out of all the books. Recommended for all alphas and action fans!

The first part of the book was questionable and I shook my head many times while reading it. So, Dana seems to have problems with his own self worth and lack of self confidence and becomes glutton for punishment because being with his girlfriend Jessica and knowing she didn't care one whit about him felt like a punishment to me. It's difficult for Dana to fully appreciate who he is and what he has achieved because of his past but I just don't know why he won't stand up for himself. There is a MF sex scene in the book, if I could call it that, where I truly felt sorry for him because Jessica was really poisonous and not good for him and I am afraid to say that if things didn't work out for Dana in the end as they did he would still let her string him along. Dana needed to either grow a spine or listen to his friends.

Ford is a total A$$ to Dana for the first half of the book due to UST and his inability to act professional and that's all kinds of wrong. I didn't like him much in the beginning. He was very overbearing with his brother Brian and very rude to Dana. Ford, you are 46 years old, so start acting like it instead of being a punk and taking all your frustrations on Dana! They both improve though. There are some misunderstandings going on that frankly could have been avoided but, well, both MCs acted like total dumba$$*s so there was no helping it!

What I loved was Brian's POV and that made the book golden. I loved that both Dana and Ford shared their stories, many things made sense. The ending was very good. I loved Brian's perspective more than anything else. Ford and Dana are together, and Ford finally lets his brother breathe and has a life of his own. I am so looking forward to Brian's story. He deserves love so much! So these 5 stars go to the second part of the book that is slathered with delicious layer of Brian and Sway! On to the next one!

Let me preface this review by saying, while this story does stand well on its own, I would still urge you to read the previous books first. You'll have a better understanding of the various secondary characters including Ford, Dana and Ford's brother Brian.

Ford comes across as an overbearing alpha male. He continually pushes his brother, Brian, to seek counseling for his selective mutism, a side affect of Brian being a POW while in the military. And he pushes his partners buttons, all the wrong places, at all the wrong times. Ford and Dana make a very effective team as part of Duke and Quick's Bounty Hunter business, but lately, they seem to be doing more of getting on each others nerves than their jobs.

Dana has been hot for Ford pretty much since day one, but he's kept all that to himself, certain that Ford is straight. The partnership has always been strong, both men trusting each other with their lives when in tough potentially deadly situations. Recently though, they can't seem to be in each others company without it turning into a pissing contest.

Both men have things in their past they aren't proud of, things they've fought hard to overcome, to be better men. Now they just need to realize the only way they can be better, is if they are together.

If you're a fan of the series then you've been around for the early relationship of these two men. Let's just call that what it is, foreplay. Unbeknownst to each other, they've actually gotten under each others skin. Ford seriously is this big bear of a man, alpha male to the core. This only makes him that much more desirable to Dana. It takes Ford almost too long to realize this. Dana wasn't brought up in the best home and he hasn't exactly been lucky in the love department. He's brilliant, but head strong and stubborn. He jumps to conclusions to the point of derailing his relationship with Ford before it really has a chance to move from professional, to personal.

I've been reading Via's books since her first story and I've always thought that she had a very visual imagination and a talent for painting a picture of her characters with words so that her readers "see" what she does. Not all Authors can truly pull this off. Her descriptives of not only the characters and their features, but their personalities and thoughts really allows you to move through the story with them.

I highly recommend this book, this series, hell anything by this Author.

This series, like the author's Nothing Serious series, is high octane, low thinking, fun. I love all the hot alpha maleness, and that, once they got together, there wasn't a lot of stupidity, denying their feelings. Once they realize they're in love, that's it for them. Great!

While the editing here was much improved, I still haad a few occasions where the timing confused me. I would think days or weeks had passed by, only to find it's the next morning, they're looking for a bounty who's likely gonna ghost, so they have to get him first, but the course of the book takes a couple of months, but they still find the guy in town? That didn't make sense for me.

But as I mentioned earlier, I don't read this author for logic, I read for the hot alpha males and the action, which we always get in spades, so great job there.

4.5/5 - One sexy beast of a bounty hunter plus his equally badass marksman and chemistry for daaayyyssss equals one helluva good book.

This was good, okay? No, this wasn't just good, I really loved this book. I was a little bit hesitant when I started reading because I didn't realize that all of the books in this series are called Promises and I accidentally started on book 3, but fear not! This was a pretty great standalone. I can't imagine how awesome it would have been if I got some of the background jokes between the guys.

The romance between Bradford and Dana was hot. Like, these two were clearly made for each other and I kinda just wanted them to kiss and confess and get it over with because the tension in this book was making me cranky, it was so thick. But of course, what kind of book would it be if people communicated properly and just talked about their feelings instead of ignoring them and making excuses, however, I'm not pointing any fingers. *coughbradfordcough*

For some reason, Bradford wanted to make age a big deal, which is an enormous pile of bullcrap because Dana was an adult, okay? Thirty-three is perfectly adult enough to engage in sexy times with your much older, extremely fit, smug but also kinda pouty coworker. It just kinda worked. There was something about Dana and Ford that created juuussttt the right kind of friction, but Mr. "I'm too old for you" wanted to fight it the entire way. Not that Dana was a perfect little saint, either, but at least he was straightforward and honest about wanting to get into Ford's pants.

This book felt like it was a little short to me though, not going to lie. Almost nothing happens for quite a while during the tension building phase and then the world explodes and everything changes so rapidly. It felt complete and it wasn't rushed, it just felt too short, if you get what I mean. I wanted more words and more time with these two as a couple, perhaps more time with them getting to know each other romantically and just talking to each other about things that nobody else knows. I needed more of that connection between them. They had a lot of chemistry between the sheets, and it felt like they had chemistry just in existing near each other, but I needed to read it to make it real.

But all in all, yeah, this was a great book. I'd definitely recommend it. I'm probably going to go in search of Brian's book, if that's even a thing yet, because that is a man after my heart. As always, AE Via writes some damn good characters and I absolutely loved every single page.

I'm a little off kilter with this ending of the series. Dana and Ford are two strong Alpha badass males who want each other but don't know how to go about getting it. But eventually they get their act together and work things out amongst tracking down a dangerous meth drug dealer.

The thing that had me wanting more was Brian and Sway's story. I understand that these two characters are attached to Dana and Ford's storyline but I feel that they deserve their own story. Brian's disability should be talked about more and not just explained to us. It seemed haphazard that Brian's best friend (brother) happen to know sign language and they meet at a sex club and hit it off. That right there was just fishy to me. That could have been more thought out.

Maybe we can get a Part 4 Bounty Hunters!! That would be wonderful.

Promises part 3, Featuring Dana and Ford with a little side of Brian (Ford's brother)

This series has a lot of similarities between each book. You can expect the same tone, adrenaline rush level, alpha-ness and an HEA. But what makes each book unique is the set of characters it features.

Whats unique about Dana and Ford is their partnership and habit of antagonizing each other. Ford more on the gruff side because he's a bit disappointed in Dana, and Dana on the teasing side, just trying to get a rise (and mostly a smile) out of Ford. What starts off as jibes to get under each others skin, Dana calling Ford "old man" and Ford calling Dana "brat", turns into something more intimate and flirty endearments for each other. I thought it was incredibly adorable (don't tell Ford i said that)

Dana, it seems, doesn't like to be "alone", so he ends up back with his girlfriend, Jessica.
Jessica is a snooty rich b*tch who just seems to be silently getting back at her father for dating a "bad boy". She is only using Dana and doesn't really seem to care about the guy underneath.
This is what frustrates Ford. He knows Dana can do so much better and doesn't understand why he's wasting time with this girl. Jessica is going to be someone you guys will absolutely LOVE to HATE. She's a snotty user and i think she gets off pretty easy, considering. Though I also like how Dana doesn't care enough about her anymore to make a big deal out of things. She isn't worth his ire, and it shows a maturity to him.

Another difference in this book is Brian, Ford's little brother. He's the one with mute-ism caused by a stint in the war. He gets a bit of a side story in here, which leads me to believe he may get his story next. What I love about stories like this is actually being in the actions in their heads. What they feel about not being able to talk, what they would like to say, and how it makes them feel to not be able to, and the ways they do actually communicate with others. There's an intimacy there between you and the character, getting an inside view of their struggle. You become a part of them and the story, and I really, really hope Brian gets his story!!

I give PP3 a 4.5 Bratty Stars

♥¸.•´♥¸.•*´♥¨) ♥¸.•*¨♥
(¸.•´♥ (¸.•`♥ I ♥ this so hard...

The anticipation was real and I actually had to force myself not to tear into this story when it landed into my inbox. I have loved the writing of A.E. Via from the first book that I read from her and I will continue to devour them, as I do several other writers.

As much as I like the bad-a$$ness of it all, this book felt more like a romance story with artillery. I felt as if A.E. went back to her roots and drew on You Can See Me as inspiration. A five star worthy story for me. I enjoyed the animosity, the flirting, the tough guy routine and the thrill of the chase.

Yes, this is A.E. So there were guns and violence and bad guys per ususal, but that did not impede on the love affair taking place right on the pages. I had to take this book in stages, because, darn work always interfers with a good read! But it escalated my enjoyment knowing there was something to look forward to when I got a quiet moment.

For me, this book wasn't about intimacy (relax, we had enough to fill the quota -LOL). It was about Dana and Ford, two hard-arsed bounty hunters who for three years had been fighting an attraction that blew them right out of the waters. It was learning that the two of them could have it all, but could they survive the aftermath? After all, Dana could very well be comforted that he'd been promised a lifetime with Bradford King.

And did I forget to tease? Oh yeah, there was a tasty tidbit about a story to come. Get you itchy clicky finger if you are a fan of A.E. Via and her fantastic world. You will not be disapppointed.

I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.

This book had me all kinds of intrigued. I wasn’t sure if I would like Dana as much as I liked the other guys. And I didn’t even know Ford was a man’s man. So that was interesting. I like how they wanted each other but for whatever reason it was easier to be pissy toward each other than to come right out and say what each other really wanted.

It was a good addition to the series. But I am really looking forward to the next book Ford’s brother has my heart and I want to see him get his HEA.

Fantastic narration. I loved it. I want more.

Okay these bounty hunter books aren’t for me. I enjoyed book 4 and I was hoping book 3 would be good since I loved Brian (Fords brother) but my god… no Dana and Ford weren’t what I was expecting and I got bored with them.

I decided that I don’t wasn’t to waste time reading books that I don’t enjoy in the moment soo I am deciding to not finish with this.

But Aiden Snow you keep on killin it!

From the moment Ford and his brother Brian showed up in the first book of this series, my interest was piqued, and I was hoping there would be stories for each of them. Here in part three we get Ford’s story with Dana, with the added bonus of the attention-grabbing glimpse into Brian’s as well.

First, let me get out of the way my thoughts on Dana’s girlfriend. I thought Jessica was one of the most pushy, self-centered, uncaring women I’ve had the misfortune of reading about. Dana frustrated me by not dumping her a lot sooner than he did…although, if he had we would have missed out on some great interaction between him and Ford along with another scene that’s needed in the bounty on which they are working. Suffice it to say though that if I’d been personally there (how often have we as readers wished this about a book?), I would have unleashed on this self-serving b*tch because yes, she really was that irritating.

As for Dana and Ford, these two have been dancing around each other, pushing and provoking before anything ever becomes physical. Sexual tension? Yes, plenty of it thank you very much. Once Dana's free of Jessica, all bets are off and things between Dana and Ford get HOT…but not only that, there’s also a bit of sweet laced in there as well—something you might not expect from these two very alpha males.

You’ll still get the bounty hunter action, and the intrigue of the hunt with the case on which they are working. But what’s more prominent in the story is the development of Dana and Ford’s relationship. The thing I love about this author’s stories is the overwhelming alpha male presence, and the battle of wills between the alpha pairings of the couples. It’s rough and heated when it needs to be, but it’s also balanced out by the emotions and yes, even tenderness when appropriate. To me, that makes for a more powerful and intense relationship, and in turn a more satisfying read.

Oh, and the glimpse at Brian’s story I mentioned? *fans self* I am so excited for his story—I don’t see how anyone could read this and not be. Talk about inciting anticipation for a book…

Did you catch the notion that I enjoyed this book? You’d be right…4.75 stars of right (it’s that damn Jessica who made off with the rest of that last star). Promises Part 3 is highly recommended by me, and while it could be read as a standalone, I think you’ll enjoy it a even more if you’ve read the first two books of the series first to get the backstory of the other characters. If you’re a fan of an abundance of alpha males in your stories, you’ve definitely come to the right author. Oh and let’s not forget this story is meant for readers 18+ for adult language and sexual content (make sure you read the blurb—you’re going to see both M/M and a bit of M/F in this book).

Now…how long do we have to wait for Brian??? ;-)

One of the lucky ones to receive the ARC for this book. Could not put it down. Promises 3 is Ford and Dana's book and they are like hot from the word go. This book just flows and I was surprised about Ford's sexuality and questions about Dana's. Whenever they are in the same space, you can see the electricity in the air and the confusion that seems to mar them every time they seem to get close. Dana is marksmen and Ford should have seen that he had him in his sights. LOL. Once they start seeing each other as possible lovers, all bets are off. This is where the story starts to pick up. Ms. AE Via has produced another winner that will pull you in and make you love the dominating males in this series even more.. Ford and Dana's story in Promises 3 is a book that will not disappoint. I love all the characters but watching two Alpha males let themselves be vulnerable is what drew me to this series from the first book.

Promises Part 3 by A.E. Via
Five Stars

Promises Part 3 is the third book in the Bounty Hunters Series by A.E. Via. I highly recommend that you read these books in order because they flow one into the next. Also you wouldn't want to miss out on Ms. Via's skill bringing her characters to life. Each book has gotten better and better, which is hard to do in a series. This is Ford and Dana's story and they are truly intriguing men. The twists and turns the story takes leaves you on the edge of your seat from the first page to the last. I couldn't put the book down. The only bad thing about that is the wait till the next masterpiece. This book is full of action, suspense and hot sexy love scenes. I love A.E. Via, she is in my opinion one of the best m/m writers today. Where she come up with these hot sexy men, I don't know, but I sure hope the continue to come to her for a long time to come.

Another great story in this series. Hard fought love wins in the end. There were a few editing problems but not enough to take away from the powerful love story.
