It’s years since I’ve read a Zoe Dawson book and I’m scratching my head now at why that’s the case. If you like a good dose of suspense and action mixed in with your romance, definitely worth checking this one out. Good start to the the series, which I’d probably have rated higher had the whodunnit had more mystery to it and I’d not been that annoying git who works it out early doors.

Stupid

Book is so stupid, unrealistic, and basically immature. I've tried to get past these faults to enjoy the plot, but I can't. The author didn't research enough to understand military justice and protocol. It goes beyond fantasy to begging the reader's intelligence. Um, I don't recommend the book or series. I highly doubt they would be any better written.

This is the first book in a new series that is all about the men and women of the NCIS we all know that title from the TV show and this book is just as full of adventure as that series is

We have already met Christophe Vargas he was one of the missing NCIS agents in Pitbull if you haven't read that do yourself a favour and grab it and he hinted at his past in that story Now we get his story with the love of his life Ambrosia “Sia” Soto, These two have past they where once a couple but she blames him for the death of her brother in an accident where he was the pilot. She is a JAG officer and when a case on the U.S.S. James McCloud pulls them together there will be plenty of fireworks between them. When danger starts to stalk the woman that he has never stopped loving then Chris will have to step up and keep her safe and in the process he may rewin her heart.

Commanding Sia is the first book in the NCIS series by Zoe Dawson. JAG Lawyer Lieutenant Ambrosia “Sia” Soto returns from an investigation aboard the aircraft carrier, U.S.S. James McCloud, she comes face to face with NCIS Special Agent Christophe “Chris” Vargas. They have a past. He was involved in the F-18 fighter jet accident that took her brother’s life six years ago. They were also once lovers and the loss of her brother tore them apart. After a new series of accidents, Sia and Chris are teamed up together to investigate. Is it a series of unfortunate pilot error or is there someone sabotaging the pilots? Once aboard, they soon realize they have a serial killer on board but who? Sia must trust her instincts and suppress the feelings for Chris that come roaring back. Can they find the killer before it’s too late?
I love books about the military and especially featuring JAG lawyers and NCIS agents. Filled with suspense and action, Commanding Sia is a second chance romance. I loved Sia as the tough as nails lawyer who will go toe-to-toe with anyone and will not back down without a fight. When a new investigation hits close to home, Sia is partnered with Christ, a man who ignited a passion in her that she never forgot and the man she blames for her brother’s death. I also enjoyed Chris who carries his own guilt and wounds about the accident that took his friend’s life. The suspense was good and the identity of the killer was a surprise. Overall, I enjoyed this story and I look forward to reading the rest of the books in the series. If you enjoy romance with military suspense, I recommend Commanding Sia.

NCIS #1
Commanding Sia
Zoe Dawson

A Senator’s son is killed landing on an aircraft carrier, the situation calling for a quick and discrete investigation; not easy given a small city on board. A naval investigator and a JAG Lawyer are sent to solve the mystery. Both have personal histories involving the case and with one another. The sexual tension exceeds the legal here. The two appear headed to an encounter in the sack. Why their personal involvements didn’t exclude them from participation in the case is the issue I’d ask. This appears to be the first in a series devoted to romance, not law.

The suspense here is not about solving the case but how long a virile hunk can resist getting it on with his irresistible partner. One could swear these were hormonal high-schoolers. Not what I expected when I read the trailer. The one thing about investigating on an aircraft carrier at sea, the suspects have no means of escape though there are several thousand of them and they’re all killers.

Commanding Sia - Zoe Dawson
A great new spinoff by Zoe Dawson from her Seal Team series is a new NCIS/JAG series. With characters introduced in Pitbull this story takes off with Ambrosia "Sia" trying to find a serial killer of fighter pilots on the aircraft carrier USS James McCloud including her brother Rafe. Finding she has to work with the man responsible for the accident that killed her brother Chris Vargas is almost more than she can handle. The heat between them in the six years after the accident still has not cooled, but there can be no forgiveness for losing everything and everyone in her life. And there is a murderer out there to be found. This story is so full of twist and turns that you will be in the dark until the very satisfying conclusion, a must read for anyone who is following Zoe's series - if you aren't following be very sure to grab this one and start a wild ride of entertainment.

I enjoyed this book and the leads, but I feel like it was trying to straddle steamy romance and mystery and it didn't quite succeed with both. I loved having a strong heroine, but then it was inappropriate for them to be doing the dirty during the investigation. There was also a confusing lack of transition, so I wasn't sure where/when they were when things heated up. Was it immediately after what they just discussed? Weren't they going to be interviewing witnesses next? It was a bit annoying mainly because it seemed they weren't doing their jobs and it was regarding murder. It was fairly obvious who the culprit was, so that didn't quite work either. But, I think this story idea is great and can be improved and would make a wonderful read! I feel like it was a work in progress and needed some more editing, but I would recommend it. Keep up the good work!

Not a bad story, but a few technical things bugged me. When you write a crime-solving story it’s good to do a little research into solving crimes. Little things like having a tech guy who goes over crashed jets turn around and do biological/medical testing—AND report that the drug a guy took THE DAY HE DIED showed up IN HIS HAIR can really bother a reader who reads this kind of book. I’m going to have to ding it a star for that. Also the characters spent way too much time thinking their relationship to death. I much prefer this author’s action stories.

Not her best work, but not a bad read.

Zoe has a knack of writing characters and situations that are intense, frightening, caring, sad, mis understood, love, forgiveness, revenge and much more. Sia and Chris are no different.
I new that I knew Chris Vargas from a different story. It all came together. The loss of a brother, a love- best friend, parents was too much for Sia to deal with . She wanted answers about 6 years ago and she wanted to clear her brother.
This brought her face to face with her live from 6 years ago who it was thought was responsible for her brother death.
They ream up to investigate another accident on the same ship. There journey includes, death, a false accusation, forgiveness and so much. More

Should come with a warning that it is a mature book. Although it has some plot, it is used only in a way to make the bedroom scenes seem palatable rather than an out and out book of sex.
And it goes on way too much over the protagonists emotions and issues. Within a page one of them goes from saying they don’t want her because she didn’t stand by him, to next page all is forgiven and without any way of melding those two opposing thoughts together!
Then the plot - oh dear. I know they wanted a twist, but any investigator worth their salt would have spotted some of the things as they immediately came up rather than much, much later.

As a lover of NCIS on CBS television, I was super thrilled to find this book quite by accident and WOWW!!! What a thrilling story, a tear jerker, my blood boiled at those twisted battles onboard that huge aircraft carrier, sometimes I thought I was watching this story unfold just like a real NCIS episode and, what a super happy ever after ending, the icing on the cake !!
Who knew NCIS could be all hot and steamy and romantic, but I loved every second of this aspect of the story !!
This is my first read from this author and I am glad I found her, will definitely read the initial introductory book on Special Agent Vargas ... I can't wait to dive in !!!

If you liked An Officer and a Gentleman, this is an even better story. It has all the romance and suspense of an NCIS murder case on a Navy ship, but that is enhanced by the strong heroine who fights her own feelings for her commanding officer in order to stand her ground and get her job done -- clearing her dead brother's name in the process. A steamy, page-turning, run read with heroines you'll love as much as you adore the hunky hero.

Chris & Sia

This story is fantastic! It is one series I intend to read and wait anxiously for this Authors next story. I love reading anything connected with the Military and while reading about NCIS only reinforces that. Zoe Dawson goes the extra mile to the details that a JAG Officer entails and what the NCIS Officer does. The suspense and emotions come into p!at with the harrowing details surrounding the findings of murder.

I liked the suspense action portion of the book and will definitely read the next in the series. I really didn’t like the female main character in this book and kind of felt like the hero could do better, but it shows it’s a pretty good book because usually I wouldn’t finish a book where I disliked a character that much.

The story line was good. You feel for Chris as he lost so much & even the love of the woman meant to stand by him. SIA makes you want to slap her. She fights for her brother but forgets the man she loves & his pain. During all this the suspense around the murders keeps you reading & wishing they will have a HEA.

Fast-paced read you can't put down.

Pretty neat to read a book that shows how well various teams can work together.
Tons of emotions in this story about seeking justice for killed pilots and why they were killed.
Steamy scenes blend in with two people coming to grips with the past and the present.

NCIS...GREAT

Love the book. Is well written and balance, enough action vs. the couple love.

Sia and Chris are strong characters with a past that broken their lives but a 2nd chance is here.

The story is interesting, and is highly recommended

Commanding Sia by Zoe Dawson
NCIS Series Novel Book One
Ambrosia Soto, known as Sia, joined JAG after her brother’s plane crashed and it was called pilot error. She not only lost her brother in that crash, but a man she loved, as he was the one who caused Rafe’s death. Now they are thrown together on a case and she finds that her feelings for him are still alive.

Chris Vargas left the navy after his best friend died and he joined NCIS. He lost everything the day his friend died. Mostly he grieves the loss of Sia and has never recovered. Now they are on an investigation together and she’s determined to clear her brother’s name. If only she were as determined to forgive him.

Great romantic suspense. Nothing like having an old love to work with in the small con-fines of a ship. A love as stormy as the sea. Could the deaths they are looking into go back the six years to Rafe and Chris’s crash? And even if it releases the blame, can Sia give her-self over to the man who holds so many of her past memories, both good and bad?

Sia is commanding

Sia is a good officer, but not so easy to command.
A good mystery and it took some team work for these star crossed lovers to make their way back.
Made me cry at the end.

I highly recommend this book by this author. NCIS intrigue and romance at it’s best.
The story line was complicated and twisted enough to keep me hooked and the romance was a wonderful touch of sexual desire and love long denied.

Highs and lows of love

I enjoyed the plot and characters. Everyone deserves a Happily Ever After and no one more than Sis but the death of her brother had her turning away the love of her life. Read to see how they find each other again.
