Rate this book
For a year Roxy’s life has been torn apart by lies. As Christmas approaches, she finds herself forced to endure the company of the people who nearly destroyed her.
Her coping mechanisms include working non-stop, swearing off men, and occasionally climbing into a bottle. One particular night, after wine has taken the lead in her battle, she attempts to drive home. Fortunately, Jax-the-gorgeous-fireman, has been watching her throughout the evening. He steps in and prevents a disaster.
Jax finds her adorable and witty, but in need of a trip over his knee and some strong guidance.
To her surprise, Roxy finds Jax’s dominance makes her melt in more than one place.
Will she feel the same when she is sober and Jax is laying down the law? Or will Jax run when the rumors reach him?

Strong men and feisty women populate the books of Libby Campbell, USA Today bestselling author. Her fast-paced stories are full of challenges and setbacks. Each couple finds their joyful HEA only after major differences have been resolved with classic dom/sub discipline.

Some of these books span one hundred years or more, through the magic of time travel. Others take you on a fantasy ride to a faraway galaxy or into the life of a stern billionaire. Many of the romances are contemporary. Her Without Mercy series steps back in time to the roaring 20’s, 1920’s that is.

I loved this story from start to finish! Roxy hasn't quite been herself since a betrayal a year ago. With the holidays approaching, she knows she will once again come in contact with the person responsible, as they both participate in an upcoming event. Luckily, she also meets the gorgeous Jax and is very interested! He seems interested too, but then pulls back. Is history repeating itself? This fun and fast-paced story will keep you on your toes as you follow this couple's path to love. Their witty banter and sizzling romance will have you rooting for them. They are a fun modern couple and people you would love to have over for dinner. But we all carry baggage from our personal history and overcoming that baggage while learning its lesson, is the best possible outcome. You have to read this terrific novella to find out if Roxy and Jax are going to make it, and along the way you will laugh, definitely feel the heat, and be hit with some real surprises. I enjoyed reading this story. However, there were more than a few editing errors, ensuring that I had to re-read to sections of the story. That, totally takes away from a very sweet story.

A well written short story with two strong characters I especially liked Roxy a self sufficient business woman who has been accused wrongly by a despicable man who she is about to meet twelve months later just as she starts to get her life back together she meets Jax the original rugged dominant fireman.Sparks fly they cannot resist each other although Roxy realises she is submissive to Jax he also has issues with a previous girlfriend but he can’t resist taking her over his knee which leads to fulfilling sex for both. The story twists and turns in Ms Campbells capable writing to a HEA.

I found Jax overbearing and obnoxious. Sorry.
